Magic Erasers are a popular solution for removing mildew and mold from surfaces, especially shower curtains. They can be used to scrub away the top of surfaces, leaving them shiny and effective for marks on enameled appliances. However, they are not able to completely remove mold spores.
Magic Erasers are abrasive, so they should not be used on delicate or polished surfaces. They can also strip away the finish of shiny painted, enameled, sealed, or varnished surfaces. For coffee and tea stains, it is essential to test patches on less-shiny surfaces.
Mickey Erasers are made of melamine, which is abrasive enough to remove mold spores without leaving any debris. However, they do not kill mold, so if there is any left, bleach (read warnings, ventilate, wear gloves) or bleach may be needed. Magic Erasers will remove spots but will not kill the bacteria that causes mold in the first place.
For health and cleanliness purposes, Magic Erasers can be used to remove mold and mildew from surfaces. However, they may damage non-stick cookware, making it difficult to clean. To avoid damaging the non-stick coating, read warnings, ventilate, wear gloves, and read warnings before using Magic Erasers.
In conclusion, Magic Erasers are a useful tool for removing mold and mildew from surfaces, but they should not be used on polished, delicate, or easily scratched surfaces. Instead, use a damp Magic Eraser to gently scrub away the mold and mildew.

Biocides, such as chlorine bleach, are substances that can destroy living organisms, such as mold, and are not recommended for routine mold cleanup. Sterilizing an area is usually not desirable as mold spores will remain, which will not grow if moisture issues are resolved.
If using disinfectants or biocides, ensure ventilation and exhaust the air outdoors. Avoid mixing chlorine bleach with other cleaning solutions or detergents containing ammonia to avoid toxic fumes. Dead mold may still cause allergic reactions in some people, so it must be removed.

It can be used on both nonporous and porous surfaces, with vinegar being more effective in penetrating porous materials like wood. White vinegar, which contains 5 acidity, can be purchased inexpensively at most grocery stores.
What kills 100% of mold?
Mold 100 is typically killed by removing all mold-infested materials, but fungicides can be used for smaller amounts of mold growth. Bleach and vinegar are not recommended for mold removal, as they do not penetrate deeply enough to kill all mold down to the root. Therefore, removing mold-infested materials is the only effective method.

It is not recommended to buff marks from car exteriors with a Magic Eraser, as it can result in more damage and higher repair costs. Screens, cell phones, and laptops should be protected with a screen protector.
Non-stick cookware, particularly non-stick frying pans, should be avoided as the chemicals from the coating can leak into food. Stainless steel should also be avoided unless there are minor scratches.
What kills mold better than vinegar?
Bleach is a potent and effective remedy for mold growth on non-porous surfaces like glass, bathtubs, and tiles. It cannot penetrate into porous substances, making it suitable for sparse mold areas. However, it is not approved by the US EPA due to its harmful chemical structure. Despite its cost, bleach is a powerful yet affordable solution. To use, open windows, keep the room ventilated, and wear protective gear.
Dilute one cup of bleach with a gallon of water, then apply the mixture evenly to the affected areas. Allow the mixture to sit and work for a while, as bleach will slowly destroy and kill the mold. Wearing protective glasses and gloves is recommended to avoid skin irritation and eye damage.

I’ve been using this tip for more than 40 years now. My mom used it at home when I was a kid and my task was to clean the bathroom, sweep the backyard and every now and then wash my dad’s car. Don’t use it on your car though… I can confirm it works across the Americas and continents too: Brazil, Canada and Portugal.
