In this DIY Magic Box video, magician Edžus shares his method of creating a wooden trick box that can make things vanish and produce small objects. The trick involves taking apart an empty Green Kid Crafts box, measuring out seven 3.5″ x 3.5″ squares, cutting them out, and gluing black paper on one side of six of them. The boxes can be transformed from a flat square to a box and back to a flat square like magic.
A manifestation box is a fun way to play with the law of attraction and can be used to create a magical effect. In this instructable, the magician shows how to make a “Magic” mirror box, which can be viewed from different angles and rotated to reveal numbers 6, 8, 12, and 24.
To make a magic box, cut out six 5-inch cardboard squares and paint them black. Tape the edges of four squares together to form a 4-sided box. The Magic Box application allows users to create their own boxes for their own designs, either at a Fablab or at home. The video provides a step-by-step guide on how to create a magic box and other magic tricks.

Great job, very well made. A tip from a magician who uses these type of boxes for over forty years: Work the other way around. Show the box empty first, then let something appear. The more the better. Flags, sweets, anything flashy or colourfull. That is impossible, it was empty, so surprise-effect. That way nobody suspects the box and they all focus on the flags/sweets, you then just put the box away. If you vanish something they want to see the box, because they see it as a puzzle and the box must have something to do with it. Our audience is not stupid. If you just show an empty box, snap your fingers and fill it with sweets/flags they don’t get the time to think and now they can see, feel and even eat whatever you produced. (make sure to produce only edible flags.).
There’s an old principle in magic, that everything is there for a reason. (If you could perform the illusion without something, you would.) That’s the essence of the black paint. The black obscures the differences in grain for the inner and more-inner boxes. And going with matte finish ensures that quirks of light and reflection don’t give anything away.
I had fun making one of these. A few mistakes were made but I learned a few new things in the process. even though I know how it works I am still mesmerized when an object disappears after closing and opening the box. I can wait to show it to my Grandchildren. My plywood was a little undersized so I had to compensate for the differences in thickness. Thank you for making this article.
