Something I accidentally did while playing was find out the L button is also the echo menu button. I don’t think the game tells u this and only tells u about the D pad input. But, that was quite uncomfortable for me, so, I just use the L button and my left stick. If using the D pad for the echo menu is uncomfortable for u, just use the L button.
On the pot and Redead thing: From a technical point of view, when the Redead screams Zelda normally does this little animation where she covers her ears and shakes. But since she’s inside a pot, that animation can’t play, so I’m guessing the whole animation just gets skipped entirely. (I’m guessing the Zelda-in-pot model is essentially an entirely different model, which just doesn’t have that animation. But I would have to check the game deeper to be sure)
I just cleared the fourth dungeon, and I love how there isn’t necessarily one solution to every puzzle. Definitely one of my top Zelda games I’ve played. I will absolutely have to try the “drown them in a water block” method, though. It shame most of these strategies probably don’t work on the Lynel, though…not that you’d be able to even use him where I am in the game, due to costing 6 units of wand energy.
I learned about the Bed resting by accident when I got the 2nd bed ability from Gerudo Town and hit A Button by mistake. It’s such a great feature that I almost wish all Zelda games had that ability even if they nerfed it in future Zelda games to use a tent outside or something. I didn’t know you could latch onto flying enemies either and proves I need to experiment with the X button or Bind more often. All really good tips! 😎
Absolutely love this game.. 1 tip: Play on hero mode… Yes it much tougher as some enemies can 1 shot you (especially early game) but its way more fun as you are forced to make the most from the echoes to survive certain encounters instead of just spamming your strongest one over and over. And the fact that hearts don’t spawn is easily fixed by summoning beds.. Even during bossfights you can just take a nap while your echoes keep the boss occupied 😂
If you head north and slightly east from Hyrule Ranch after finishing “Still Missing”, you’ll find Dampe yelling at a crow – defeat it and meet him at his house, and with the right combo of Echoes and Items, he’ll craft Automatons you can deploy like echoes that are separate from Echoes themselves (including big explosions, rapid-fire rocks, music performance, half-screen sword swings, money-birds and trash compactors). You have to wind them up, and they can be damaged and need repairs, but they can be used WITH Echoes, and they’re also powerful alone.
I’ve got to admit that I don’t really like the crawltula spider thing. Sure, it can climb up anything, but you can’t actually control where it goes, and it seems like mine always crawl in the weirdest directions and never where I actually want them to go. Wow! I do not use bind enough! 😅 My personal favorite way to gain height is using the Platboom echo. The easiest way to find one is in the cave above Gerudo Town. They can only be attacked from the side so be careful you don’t get squished.
I didn’t know you could make stairs with tables. I do it with beds. I wish I knew about removing the shields. I don’t know if this is 100% true but I think you can heal faster in bed by laying down, once your health goes up get right back up and lay back down again. It seems to heal faster that way. I liked spamming the water blocks to make my own ladders either across or up ledges. Sadly they’re fragile and break if an enemy hits the block, and they have to be touching something like the ground or walls to appear. I wish I knew about the crawling spider trick but I never really thought to use the follow trick a lot. Not that I used the horse either, much less follow on a fast moving mob monster haha. Here’s another trick: spam summon Wizrobes. Each time they’re summoned they immediately attack, but take a while to do so again as they hover, teleport, then attack. Summoning a new one will get rid of the other but it’s essentially making them teleport on command and having them at full health each time. It’s a late game trick though as they’re available at mid to late game, but hope that helps!

To avoid, just climb the “seemingly intended” way. Obviously this game is open and you can kinda do anything whenever. Intended way being: Through kakariko village Onto mountain passage area Theres 2 caves to progress upwards to Goron City. Make sure to take both to reach the top. once out of the second cave, youll basically be at Goron City’s entrance and be good to go. If you can talk to the Goron AND enter the door in front of him to the city. Youre all good. Feel free to continue the wuest or do whatever. This glitch puts an invisible wall at the goron city door entrance if you don’t progress ‘properly’ for some reason.
The game looks good and I’m going to buy it, but some of these methods just look like a chore. I miss when Miyamoto was in charge of Zelda. I prefer just playing as link, swinging my sword at enemies, and having straight forward puzzles that have 1-2 answers. This BotW style of open ended puzzles often feels like a chore and a single mechanic that gets used for an entire game. It gets boring pretty fast. The games are still quality because Nintendo, but something is missing and I wish Miyamoto still was in charge.
