What expansions are available for Heroes of Might and Magic 3 HD Edition?

Heroes III, a popular game, was released in 2000 and was followed by the HD “remastered” version in 2014, which featured updated graphics and widescreen compatibility. The game follows the player as they control a group of heroes who command an army of mythical creatures. The gameplay is divided into two parts: tactical overland exploration and a turn-based combat system. Players create an army by spending resources at one of eight town types and progress through experience by engaging in combat with enemy heroes and monsters.

Victory conditions vary depending on the map, including conquest of enemies and towns, resource collection, or finding a grail artifact. If a player loses all their towns, they have seven game days to capture a new town, and if they fail to do so, the game ends. If a player loses all their heroes and towns, they will lose the game.

  • Heey Norovo, last month I finally completed all steam achievements and so far this is my only steam game i 100% completed 🙂 Completing the campaign was quite easy for me, except 6th campaign (Song for The father) and the great battle to recapture the capital gave me lot of problems. I finished the game for the first time in my youth, in early 2000s and then it didn’t cause me so much trouble as i remember. Guess I’m getting old 🙂 greetings from Poland mate and thanks for your work!

  • Thanks for the playthrough, it’s always a pleasure seeing a HOMM3 article popping up and perusal you play. Kudos for the surrender move to get back to town in time. Never would have had this idea on my own in a lifetime 😀 Yeah, QoL improvements are missing, but hey… when I play HD it’s a bit like playing Nethack. It’s nostalgia, taking time for moves, checking whether everything is in place. In the right mood it’s cool, in the wrong mood it’s annoying. Love your vids, thanks for the content!

  • Ok, i’m 7 mins into the article and it seems it’s exactly what I’ve been looking for. I’ve played this game about 15 years ago (or even more), loved it, but never actually learned to play. Now I’m too old to learn everything from the scratch, so you explaining your every decision is extremally helpful. I’ve known the basics for years now, but never learned to utilize them well. For example: I knew making multiple heroes and breaking big stack into multiple 1 man stacks are good, but didn’t exactly know how to utilize this knowledge. Btw I’m back to the game after decade or so thanks to new Factory faction:)

  • This was my First lets Play HoMaM article and i think i learned a lot. For example i thought Splitting your weakest unit is Something you can do, but is Not really important. I was really surprised when you killed the unicorns at the beginning. Normaly i spend the first week building towards the Capitol and i thought starting without resources is really Impossible to win. But i think you got really lucky with the free Grail town. I go much more for resources and thought all the time Take the Goldmine Back, Go to the watermill, there is a Sulfur mine only blocked by a couple of gargoyles in the West! But after all thanks for showing how much you can do with Low Level Units.

  • This is like my all-time favorite game. When steam made it available it was like 30 bucks for five of the games. It was like Heroes 3, 5, and 7. It was a steal when it dropped down to like $15 for everything. I played this Heroes game on the computer when it first came out and then as time went on we jumped to Heroes. 3. I’m kind of saddened you couldn’t get the expansions, but honestly we didn’t have that much experience with the expansion. So be nice to learn from what we can see how you play the game. Especially when my friends like he calls the last level and the campaign b***** because you get like three four bases and you get bombarded from the very beginning

  • When you’re on a map object that has an interaction when you first step onto it (whirlpools, windmills, portals, etc.), rather than moving off and back to it, or moving further into the whirlpool, you can instead hit spacebar to interact with it without moving. This lets you jump between multiple destination portals and whirlpools without wasting extra movement points.

  • 1:20:06 just gang up on the dendroids with everything, they always reach but you have a massive Attack skill advantage and probably kill a lot of them 🙂 Should lose less troops overall presumably. Edit: Same mistake around 3:00:50, if you sacrifice the bird (take retal from demons & block unicorn) to let the wolves completely demolish them, you’re probably losing less overall. (or actually, perusal further, AI played that so stupidly with the Blind, it probably actually worked in your favour nonetheless, pfft) Still, great article (even withthe nuisance HD Edition poses), sorry for the nitpicking 😀

  • Not bad but you still need lots to learn. 1st thing you do, you make archers in the town and upgarde them for double dmg if you can so you can take most mines, then worry about money.😃 And you can save and load before and after a battle to reduce the loses.😅 Another thing, whe you’re day 7, chose between Citadel and Griffin Tower, go for Citadel because you have no griffins, so better to stack up the archers and pikmen than having new creatures.

  • 3:07:39 Ehmm.. Where did the demons go?? There was full rampart army without centaur captains with Gundula and in rampart town remain centaurs AND few demons. Where’s the demons go? I believe there should be the outside the castle battle, cause Gundula’s slots was full to get additional two stacks from castle into her army.

  • I* like your strategies man, but u were surprised too many times when the opponent was much stronger than u when u didn’t build actual useful buildings and recruited more units when u had a gjilion resources xD i know u’re playing on imposibile difficulty, but that doesn’t mean u should make everything harder than it is by not choosing to recruit some units

  • The FREE(!) gem mine outside of an “Angels” castle is ideal. You want that on day 2 if possible. And yes, day one’s build should be the town hall. After that, take whatever losses are necessary to obtain the sawmill and ore pit… and from that point forward, monkeys and angeles are yer saviors! 😂 BTW, my series of books, “Diamond Dragons” contains some serious homages from the M&M, Bard’s Tale, and Ultima series’ of games. In fact, the black dragons ARE indeed immune to magic. 😁 🐲✨🐲✨🐲✨

  • You are very weak player in term of strategy, planning and even the fights, you need a lot more exp.. 2:12:00 that battle, you should have attacked the enemy and taken a almost all of his creatures, and just before he can flee, you surrender and you revive in the grail city.. By doing this, you defend the town with the grail, and you make sure your starting town is safe because the enemy no longer has army ..

  • As a M&M/HoM&M fan, what can I say about how Ubisoft has destroyed these cherished 3DO/NWC franchises? I was hugely excited for the announcement of this game due to online multiplayer support (resolution patch already existed for the original game)!. Now I’d be able to play this with family and friends who are no longer on the same LAN! Yes, I know that I could use Tuungle or a similar VPN service to do this, but sometimes the setup can become convoluted. For now though, it looks like I will not be picking this up. If HoMM3 Complete HD Edition is released and some bugs are fixed, then I’d likely make the purchase.

  • Now HEAR ME OUT. Ubi. My friend. What if you copied a little bit from the graphics of Warhammer 40,000: Mechanicus and made BEAUTIFUL models of this game, added a lighting engine, added ambient occlusion, and all those cool effects like bloom and stuff, and maybe made the menus easier to navigate. Ubisoft, this can be a remaster in it’s own rights. Please, please, make a REMAKE that everyone will love. An updated version of HoMM 3. Please, trust me. I will buy it and many others will as well, for sure. Sincerely, a fan of both Ubisoft and HoMM
