How Did Bonnie’S Magic Disappear?

Bonnie’s loss of magic is a reflection of the writers’ perception of her as a plot device, with her power being used for the benefit of other characters. She lost her magic when she took anti-magic pills, which were fatal and took away her magic for a long time. She only regained her strength and psychic side after learning dark magic.

Bonnie’s psychic side manifested throughout her magical powers, but once she became in tune with her magic, it didn’t support it. In season four, she learned dark magic and had consequences, such as buying Jeremy back from the Other Side. Damon and Bonnie are stuck in 1994 and trying to find a way to get back to present time. Bonnie tells Damon that since magic brought them there, then magic can take them.

Bonnie lost her ability to practice magic before becoming the Huntress, but her ability to do so did not return. She was a ghost seen only by Jeremy, the anchor to the Other Side. She became a Huntress after Rayna Cruz transferred her magic. There was also a time when Bonnie’s powers were stolen, and spoilers suggest she may not get her old powers back. However, the actress teased the possibility of Bonnie getting a new set of magical abilities.

Bonnie’s magic disappeared for a long time, and she practiced various types of magic. She stopped Hellfire with the help of thousands of others. After Damon destroyed the corpse of the last shaman, Bonnie lost her abilities as a shamanic huntress. She got bullied and pushed around by vampires while simultaneously being reduced to a lackey for Elena.

Bonnie has to become her own hero, either by getting her magic back, rescuing her loved ones, or using her wits to save herself. The consequences of her actions are uncertain, but it is hoped that Bonnie doesn’t lose her powers.

Throughout the series, Bonnie underwent significant supernatural transformations.

Damon saved Bonnie’s life multiple times, despite Bonnie’s survival potentially affecting Elena’s future. Despite their differences, Bonnie and Damon’s love and care for each other shaped the series.

Stefan, angered by Damon’s humanity, threatens to kill Elena to break their bond as brothers. They exchange similar conversations in the first season, but with the roles switched. Stefan goes to Bonnie and Enzo’s safe house to hide Elena, forcing the realtor to change the owner and killing her later. Enzo is forced outside the house while waiting for Bonnie to take the cure. Stefan ends up taking the cure as a self-defense mechanism, killing Enzo and threatening to kill her too.

Many vampires and characters return, including Vicki Donovan and Kai Parker. Damon sees awoken up Elena and realizes it was Katherine who comes back from hell. Damon offers to sacrifice himself to ensure Katherine returns to hell during their plan to stop the hellfire.

Stefan has vervain in his system, which means Damon’s compulsion failed. He decides to take the human cure from his veins, making him age faster and eventually reach death. Stefan injects the cure to Damon, saving him and dying with Katherine. Bonnie successfully breaks the spell put on her and Elena’s lives.

During Stefan’s funeral, Damon and Caroline say goodbye to Stefan, showing how their relationship improves after his death. They reunite with Elena, with Damon sharing a kiss. Damon gives his daylight ring to Stefan, while Elena gives her vervain necklace.

Is Elena’s best friend a witch?

In the series “The Vampire Diaries”, Bonnie Sheila Bennett, Elena’s best friend, becomes one of the two female leads. She discovers her witch heritage and learns to use her powers from her grandmother, Sheila Bennett. After her grandmother’s death, Bonnie continues training and becomes more powerful. In season two, she starts a relationship with Jeremy Gilbert, Elena’s younger brother. She learns that the only way to kill Klaus is by using the power of one-hundred dead witches.

Bonnie saves Klaus from dying by telling her dead ancestor Emily Bennett, but later finds out that Jeremy kissed Anna when the doorway to the Other Side was temporarily opened, leading to her breaking up with him. Bonnie reconnects with her mother, Abby, who helps her kill the original vampires but is turned into a vampire by Damon.

In season three, Bonnie places Klaus’ soul into Tyler’s body, saving Tyler, Caroline, Damon, and Stefan from dying. In season four, Bonnie learns about forbidden magic and is forced to use it to transfer Klaus back to his original body. Professor Atticus Shane mentors Bonnie in regaining her powers, but she is unaware of the ‘Art of Expression’ that draws magic from the spirits of a massacre.

Is Bonnie the strongest witch?

Bonnie, a Bennett witch, brought dead people to life, defeated Klaus, created a different dimension for Enzo’s afterlife, and discovered a duplicate Cure in the Prison World. Her biggest feat was destroying Hell, which no character on The Vampire Diaries could claim.

Qetsiyah, a Traveller sect member, gained power beyond her coven and created the elixir for immortality for Silas, allowing her to spend her entire life with him. However, Silas betrayed her, taking the elixir with her handmaiden. In anger, Qetsiyah created the cure for immortality and the entire Other Side to punish her wrongdoers. She made Amara the anchor to the Other Side and punished Silas with the cure to immortality, leaving him to desiccate and reflect on his actions.

Bonnie’s immense power left lasting effects on the history of time.

What happened to Bonnie’s magic?

In Hello, Brother, Bonnie’s connection to the last shaman’s corpse breaks, leaving her devastated over the loss of her powers and the loss of Enzo and Damon being taken by the Armory’s monster, Sybil. In her diary, Bonnie writes to Elena about the search for Damon and Enzo, mentioning fond memories of her time with Enzo and his Greek mythology and The Odyssey.

Bonnie and Stefan are searching a wooded trail for missing people connected to Damon and Enzo. They find an actual body, but Bonnie is skeptical about its connection. Stefan reassures her that no one else knows how to fight longer and harder than she and doesn’t want her to give up.

As Bonnie and Stefan continue their search, they come across a crime scene where Damon and Enzo attacked a young couple. The female victim was strangled and exsanguinated, with teen marks and ligature marks on her neck, indicating she was strangled with a guitar string. Another clue left by Enzo for Bonnie to find is another clue left by Damon.

Why can t Bonnie do magic in season 5?

Why does Bonnie keep losing her magic?

Bonnie, once the Huntress, lost her abilities due to the Eight Everlastings’ death. However, when she found herself in a “pocket reality” with Damon, her powers returned, allowing her to trap Kai within walls of fire. Bonnie has since returned to practicing Traditional Magic, demonstrating her ability to channel natural forces more easily. She was able to open a Portal between the Otherworldly Time Dimension and the Mortal Plane, drawing on a massive celestial event using an Ascendant. Bonnie also demonstrated great skill in telekinesis, stabbed Kai with a pick-axe at the speed of light, and controlled Damon’s movement despite being fatally wounded.

After Damon is successfully sent back to the mortal plane, Bonnie displays offensive power by causing objects to explode around him and controlling electricity. She performs a dimension-crossing spell under Kai’s command, tricking him by sending her teddy bear home. She also imbues her teddy bear with her magic, leaving Bonnie powerless. The only other witch known to have performed this spell is Jo Laughlin, Kai’s only living sister who relinquished her magic and put it away.

  • it’s kinda of ironic that his former enemies became his best friends first Alaric and later Bonnie you gotta admit that even though Damon was a horrible person at the beginning of the series we started to see that he wasn’t that bad at all once we get know him much better and people close to him know it like his brother, Elena and Bonnie they are the three closest people to him that knew all along that was something good inside him.

  • I loved this scene. It did a great job showcasing the growing friendship between Damon and Bonnie, with her being protective over him and him openly admitting to actually liking her(a few minutes before this clip) and making her smile. When she got her powers back and delivered her badass dialogue pieces it was awesome, but I do have to admit that Damon just sitting there waiting to be killed when he could’ve easily run showcases one of the reasons I never managed to like the show as much as I wanted to.

  • Enzo and Bonnie deserved better. After eight seasons of killing and reviving half of the cast, they couldn’t bring Enzo back to life?. Bonnie was one of the most selfless characters besides Stefan (most part of the time) and she can’t even spend the rest of her life with her true love. Characters like Matt for example were kinda unnercessary for me, he could have died seasons ago and they kept him alive till the end, like…. honestly, truly. And Elena and Damon, were lacking of emotion, Damon showed more love for Caroline or Bonnie than for Elena after an entire season of redeption and desperate need to get Elena back… I don’t know, for me the final episode had a lot of highlights, but at the same time had me expecting more.

  • Bonnie’s scream at the end is so piercing and it yanks at my heart, like you watch this and you literally lean forward because it’s almost like you’re her and you just lost the love of your life and you’re lunging forward in total agony and grief. This to me cemented Kat’s acting skills cause that was just plain inhuman.

  • I hate how they killed Enzo. I’m still crying my eyes out. And for some reason I cryed more for Enzo’s death then I did Glenn’s and Abe’s death. which is werd to me, but whatever. They better bring Enzo back. Bonnie Diserves better. Bonnie has never gotten what she wanted. When she didn’t want to use her magic, Vampires always came and always made her use them. She wanted to give the cure to Enzo, but Damon says no, Enzo gets killed and sent to hell. And Bonnie uses the cure on Stefan. Bonnie never gets what she wants. All she gets is Pain, Anger, and Saddness. GREAT! “not really”.

  • Look at this :Grammy died,Jeremy died many times she brought him back and died, she was starting to like a witch boy he got burned up,her mother was killed and turned into a vampire, she watch her father die right infront of her,she came back became an anchor (painful process),went into another world with a crazy man who tried multiple times to kill her, almost died again, turned into a vampire killing machine, lost her magic and they couldn’t just give her Enzo gosh what is wrong with them

  • Paul scares the hell out of me. When he is a bad guy, he’s just cold blooded badass. I love it. Broke my heart here, but still, damn, Stefan is an epic villain this season. Honestly the main reason I keep perusal. But still… Can’t get how Stefan could be so cold about Elena. No Caroline, no Damon, could trigger something( not even his mother like last time). Odd.

  • I hate this because even though Stefan killed Enzo people are gonna forgive him and say “His humanity was off” but he killed Enzo and was going to kill Elena and Bonnie out of choice but he didnt have to, no one made him but he still did! Yet when Damon killed Tyler everyone was saying what a monster he was but it wasn’t Damons choice, Sybil was controlling his mind, Damon didnt want to do it but Sybil kept messing around in his head making him kill Tyler… This fandom is ridiculous lmao.

  • That was some powerful acting from Bonnie. I haven’t processed Enzo’s death yet cause I refuse to believe he is dead and the writers would be that cruel to Bonnie after everything she has been through. There has to be some sort of loophole maybe something to do with Cade. It also looks like she got her powers back. Man this episode was emotional.

  • The one consistent storyline in Vampire Diaries: Bonnie can never be Happy. They even killed her immortal boyfriend. It irks me to my core, how Bonnie has been the most powerful person in the room since season 2, and she never flipped out, and ended these “people.” She is literally tapped into the source of all magic. She has a direct line now. She is beyond using magic, she is magic.

  • Everyone who’s saying that it’s Stefan’s fault that Enzo is dead really needs to think twice before talking shit about my baby(😂). First of all.. he offered his soul to Cade to save Alaric’s twins, then he turned his humanity off to feel less pain while doing his job. No humanity = Not giving a fuck. So it’s actually all Cade’s fault that this is happening. He said to Damon that Cade told him to kill Elena and he was like” Why didn’t I think of that” so if Cade’s bitch ass kept his mouth shut about our Elena Stefan would be running around killing other people.

  • These are those types of deaths that you can’t find anyone to blame Stefan no humanity because he made a deal whit cade to save caroline’s girls and i can’t blame bonnie for not forgiven or finding it difficult to forgive him because the first time she finally had a sensible relationship they killed off the boyfriend so why did they kill off enzo i wonder

  • THE AMOUNT OF HATE FOR STEFAN IS WAY TOO MUCH 1) HIS HUMANITU IS OFF 2)REASON FOR THAT IS FOR DAMON FAULT 3)DID U GUYS HATE DAMON WHEN HE KILLED TYLER!! EXACTLY SO SHUT UP ALL OF YOU! like OMGHS you have to understand you become your worst when ur humanity is off. Stefan is a good guy and Damon too but when their humanity is off is A SHITSTORM FROM BOTH OF THEM

  • I cried so much for Enzo. I have been rewatching it again this is my third or 4th times I am just on s4 e10 . I cried a lot He was a good guy to Bonny and Damon friend,ok he failed at being one by abandoning him but before alaric he was . This is why Enzo wanted to take revenge on him for giving up on him

  • Heartbreaking. Definitely one of the most shocking scenes in all of TVD even tho I was expecting it and one of the most heartfelt with Kat’s acting. Bon and Enzo were by far my favorite couple in this entire show aside from Elena and Stefan, the love, respect and adoration each couple showed for one another wasn’t exactly replicated in any other. I thoroughly enjoyed perusal them together and seeing Bonnie happy after sacrificing so much for the betterment of others and thought it was some lazy ass writing to have killed off Enzo that way. The writers could’ve written in another way for Bonnie to have been gotten back her power, maybe relating to Kai or threatening Elena’s death, SOMETHING. They just got lazy with everything, Stefan’s shitty proposal to Caroline and her finding it the same way Elena did in a drawer in that fantasy proposal in Season 5, Enzo dying, Tyler being killed stupidly, I mean just really? Some things u can do without and this death was one of them. I really loved him and the way he treated Bon, so admirable and beautiful. He was beautiful.. 🌹

  • Damon killed Jeremy, Damon killed Tyler, Damon killed Lexi, he basically killed Vicki, he killed Caroline and forced her to become a vampire, he tried to kill both Bonnie and Elena on separate occasions (either under mind control or with his humanity off) and he’s tried to kill Matt plenty of times. If he can get a pass for that, then I don’t see why people are angry at Stefan.

  • If you’re a die hard Bonnie fan, you would not be okay with this or Bonenzo. As much as I wanted her to be happy with him, I knew their relationship was a plot catalyst, therefore it was not genuine from the start. We knew it was fake & forced when JP rushed their love story in one episode because Bonnie fans were complaining about her not having a love interest. Enzo died in vain just so they use Bonnie’s magic yet again. Ugh screw you TVD.

  • OMG!! Bonnie has been through alott!! And now this, i mean why Bonnie has to sacrifice everything and everyone she love ALWAYS?? Writers are not fair on Bonnie’s part. That girl has been sacrificing herself from the start for everyone and at the end what did she get?? Not even a happy ending??? RIDICULOUS!!😤😡😭😥😫

  • I been rocking with bonnie since 2009 bro like this hurt me in so many ways, and wasn’t so much for Enzo its just how much I can’t see her suffer and cry like this. smh straight up put chills from the bottom of my arms all the way to my cheeks with literal tears falling down my eyes, and im not the type to cry for nothing bro fr this hurt deep

  • Enzo didn’t deserve this..he deserved to be married to Bonnie n hv a future together.. He’s suffered too.. So has Bonnie.. honestly I admire their love 😢. Aside Damon and Elena… Enzo n Bonnie are the most beautiful couple in the show and they have the a beautiful chemistry too😢.. Enzo n Tyler’s death were unfair.. If I were Bonnie and this happened to me .. humanity or not I’ll never forgive Stefan Salvatore

  • Bonnie(Thandie Newton),Enzo(Joshua Sasse),Stefan(Danny Masterson),Caroline(Anessa Ramsey),Klaus(Justin Welborn),Elena(Ashley Greene),Katherine(Ashley Greene),Hayley(Ashley Greene),Rebekah(Sarah Carter),Freya(Emilia Ares Zoryan),Finn(A.J Wevin),Mikael(Pierce Brosnan),Kai(Justin Chatwin),Liv(Liz Kate),Davina(Lauren Jennings),Kaleb(Justin Welborn),Jenna(Shantel VanSanten),Jo(Angela Gots),Anna(Stephanie Silver),April(Stephanie Honoré),Damon(Cole Hauser),Cami(Lara Grice),Rose(Ashley Greene),Nadia(Ashley Greene),Amara(Ashley Greene),Tatia(Ashley Greene),Nora(Olivia Wilde),Mary Louise(Jessica Stone),Valerie(Bijou Phillips),Elijah(Danny Masterson),Silas(Danny Masterson),Hope(Liv Greene,Jessica Greene,Summer Fontana,Danielle Rose Russell),Lizzie(Lily Rose,Isabelle Wevin,Jenny Boyd),Josie(Kaylee Bryant)

  • Stelena? Nope. Delena? Nope. I like the idea of elena comming back. What i really like to see how the VD will end is : stefan keep living his stupid human live what he deserves, caroline returns to her girls and alaric and have a great family time, elena is only back in a good dream or something like that, and Damon and bonnie, they will live as friends for the rest of their lives, just together as good palls, nothing more. They deserve to be together, nothing stupid going on, just really good friends.

  • As someone who always hated the character of Enzo. He should’ve never been involved with bonnie. His love interest was Lillie. After s7 he should’ve been removed somehow. And all this armory cr4p shouldn’t have been a thing. We should’ve gotten more episodes with the hieratics. What was the point of the Malcolm and Bo characters… Also hated the constant switching between current times and 3 years before so unnecessarily confusing to follow.

  • -Everyone dies let’s let Bonnie bring us all -it happened again Bonnie we need your help you the Anchor now -let’s do it again, the witches and her grandma told her it will be consequences and she never listen Why the hell she couldn’t bring back Enzo she was bringing vampires back from the start And yes I know because of that writer made her character to never live happily ever after

  • Bonnie deserved so much better She sacrificed nearly everything she had only for her friends but what she got..nothing…like seriously? She was the best character in the whole show Enzo shouldn’t have died On the other hand I think smh the endgame could have been more like Bamon,Stelena and Klaroline. Or maybe Enzo and Bonnie could’ve been together because she deserved better😕

  • This scene really broke me man like I shed hella tears for Bonnie on this episode cuz it felt so real with that scream….I stopped liking Stefan a few seasons before this but after I saw what he did to Enzo he was dead to me and I was really glad he got killed In The end…should have been sooner🤬😡 #TeamBonnie

  • enzo dying ruined everything for me bonnie and enzo deserved so much fucking better. they were the best couple and deserved their happy ending. delena, the only couple that was endgame had the most shitty reunion because the actors couldnt be mature and at least try to not to show that being in a scene together was the last thing they wanted to do on screen. im still mad about this whole season tbh

  • So, let me get this straight; Elena, who’s napped in a coffin and done fuck-all for the past three years gets her ‘happily ever after’ with Damon, but Bonnie, who has proven time and time again to be one of the most selfless, heroic, and deserving characters on the show suffers so much immense grief and pain and continuously has everything taken from her? Bullshittt. It should have been Enzo and Bonnie’s happy ending.

  • damon and stefan under sylbils’ influence are not at fault for those deaths they caused. the difference is, without being controlled by her, damon still CHOOSES to kill with no mercy. don’t blame stefan for this when he felt like pure shit after and then got killed off after seasons of him and bonnie being shat on.

  • I don’t remember how her journey ended at the finale. Like I know she saved the town from the fire but GOD DAMN all that suffering just doesn’t make sense. She should’ve had a whole show or she should’ve been “strongest which” the head or something. A top teacher in the school? She should’ve been worshiped lol

  • You knows what really annoys me about this show. THEY TREAT BONNIE LIKE CRAP. she is too damn good for this show. She has done nothing but sacrifice herself and own happiness for her ungrateful friends. And then you have julie plec who gives damon the most narccistic, selfish, cruel, murdering ass clown character on the show a happy ending while bonnie has to suffer all the time.i was hoping damon had a horrible ending after all he has done to innocent people, like Jessica and Aaron Whitmore just to name a few and he has gotten away with it with no consequence. Yet bonnie can’t have something as simple as boyfriend or just little happiness. THAT IS SOME BULLSHIT. if I was a writer on that show, bonnie would have had the best ending out of all of them and damon would have had the worst

  • GUYS LISTEN TO ME. Enzo did NOT die. Michael Malarkey (Enzo) posted a picture on Instagram with all the scripts he had to throw away after TVD wrapped up and if you look closely, on the right, there’s a pink script and on it, it writes “We’re Planning…” and then the rest of the episode title is cut. I looked up all the titles of the episodes of Season 8 and the only one which starts with “We’re Planning” is the 15th episode “We’re planning a June Wedding” So Enzo DID not die Also, if you notice carefully, you can see that the script is as thick as the other ones so he is not just coming back in a flashback or something, HE WILL COME BACK ALIVE YAYYY 🙂

  • Hold on a second, (I actually realized this a long time ago) but if they take the cure out of Elena will that be a loophole for her to come back despite Kai’s spell because Bonnie better not die. OR, Bonnie can become a vampire because or that necklace and that will technically make her dead AND psychic while Elena can come back to life.

  • Think about it guys…this may be sad but its for the greater good at least temporarily. Bonnie Bennett is a POWERHOUSE as a witch and the ONLY one who can defeat Arcadius aka Cade. She will more than likely be the only one who can battle Cade on similar terms. Cade would have destroyed them all otherwise. You seen what he did when Damon tried “plan” his death…We need Witch Bonnie Enzos death was the only way to get her back…maybe she can find him in the afterlife..remember Cade PROBABLY has him..
