How May New Spells For Hunter Ranks Be Learned?

In World of Warcraft: Classic, Hunter pets can be learned through taming and using certain abilities. For example, dash, bite, and claw can be learned by taming a level 32+ cat and using dash multiple times. The pet does not need to learn ranks in order, and you can bypass ranks if desired. Training points for lower ranks are refunded when upgrading the rank of a skill, so it costs the same whether you train every pet.

You can learn growl and passive pet abilities from the pet trainer, but all other pet abilities (including higher ranks) must be learned by taming a new pet that innately has that ability. There are two ways to learn a pet ability: some abilities can be learned from a pet trainer in town, and some abilities can be learned from taming creatures that already know the ability.

A progression guide is available for Hunter pets in The War Within, covering everything you need to know about them, including the best ones to use in each situation and resources for finding them. Most pet skills come in several ranks that get more powerful as they go. Hunters can learn new spells like bit faster by meleeing in close proximity to the animal you are learning from and feeding the pet until it is ready.

To teach a skill to your pet, you must have enough training points, which are earned as your pet’s level and loyalty increase. This guide provides step-by-step instructions for Hunters to learn new skills, which they can then teach to their pets.

  • I am almost level 16 and never knew you could do this, i was wondering why i couldn’t learn bite and growl until level 20 but what made me look into it, they are all rank 3. this is a game changer. thank you. I think what confused me, when we first started taming pets, before we could keep them they used the same symbol as train to tame them those, so once i got tame i never thought to open train after.

  • I am stuck with the Bite progress. i started with a low lvl turtle who has max rank 2 bite, I kept it until it was lvl 44 then tamed a turtle who has the ability of Bite rank 6, I am lvl 46 so is the turtle, have max loyalty of 6 and fight with it for a week and bite is still at rank 2. I can’t find a way to get bite rank up. The Turtle is a tamed Mudrock Snapjaw listed in Petopia with rank 6 bite and also the spell Beast Lore confirms this, but at spellbook—pet Bite is Rank 2 as it is at the pet ability bar. I was even standing beside the turtle at fights for hours as some1 said if you are too far away might not learn it. i spend a huge amount of time on this and nothing works, its always Rank 2, what to do?
