How The Butterfly Amulet Is Worshipped?

The Thai amulet tradition and culture can be traced back to the 12th century, with the Buddha Amulet (Phra Khrueang) being a popular choice among Thais and foreigners. These small amulets feature an eight-sided medal of the King of Butterfly in the middle, believed to attract luck from all eight directions. The painting was done by Luang Phor Krub Krissana himself using organic paints and inks.

The ultimate rule of thumb is to wear with faith and respect for all amulets, donate to temples or help needy individuals gain merits. If possible, follow the 5 Buddha Precepts. Real amulets that are consecrated are also recommended.

Before wearing the amulets, wash your hands, make your mind calm, and focus all your faith on the Buddha. Place the amulets onto your palm and press both hands together. Thai amulets containing Buddhist imagery are supposed to remind individuals of their path and commitment to this path. According to Buddhism, amulets do not have restrictions.

To offer the butterfly amulet, use 10 white candles, 10 incenses, and flowers. When praying, light up 2 white candles. Chant the Kata three times when placing the chain over your head or taking them off. Hang the amulets high up, never place them on a lower surface, and make Bucha offerings first.

The amulets are often made during auspicious times and are infused with sacred incantations and prayers. Devotees believe that wearing the amulet connects them to the Buddha. They can be worn in various ways, such as pocket, waist level, or neck chain. As long as you pray and have faith with the master and his amulet, you can use these amulets to ward off evil and grant wishes.
