I think the part where you mention that the initial animation is never affected and therefore single casts don’t benefit is misleading. If after the symbol comes about the actual attack comes out faster, which it does according to your article, you have every reason to still want cast speed for non chain castings.

Don’t sleep on the Carian Regal Scepter though. Yes Lusat does more damage per hit but taking fp cost into account, Regal actually does more for nearly the same fp cost. So if you don’t have a lot of mind, Regal is a very viable option to those players. Of course you could also use Lusat and sacrifice Radagon for Primal Glintstone Blade and even out the fp cost.
Rust movement translates so well to this game, similar speeds and most range is similar pacing of bows. I use a lot of the same movement techs in all games. Have been 10+ hours every day gaming since 2017. biggest thing I would add that he didnt cover is paying attention to audio. The dex and cast speed can all increase, but it scales with the sound. When you familiarize yourself with each bows pacing and each spells sound you can decide which tech to use. Crouch and look down for anything hit scan and side step all projectiles. Also the movement helps but if you cant make someone cast or shoot on YOUR timing then a higher skill player will hold patiently until the shot is really viable, so they dont waste any time or damage. If you start learning timing you can also bait easy shots for them and use it to your advantage. Once you hear casting you can bait them to throw. Usually people jump to dodge so somewhere near mid fireball I bait a jump that they will feel is “too early” making them almost forced to throw the perfect ball at the end of my jump and typically there premature throw will give me more time to get out the way and a much more rushed target for them. Mostly use that when I need to dodge multiple people at once. Keep one on a timing bait so they miss themselves and dodge whoever seems the most competent with actual movement. Question. After the second jump in a bhop sequence it appears to not keep your momentum. In short, the 3rd jump in a bhop doesn’t save your movement? You can see in the article for a second when you surge kit at 1:04, at the 3rd jump you were finally slowed. I’ve been testinging hbopping and couldn’t get around this when bandaging etc.
That sluggish move speed would be something like inertia like Tarkov has. There is a slight delay when you input opposing commands. For example if I’m walking forward and then i switch to strafing back, there is a tiny delay. Same thing left to right. Makes movement a little smother as you have to strafe in circles. W,D,S,A or W,A,S,D and that’s how you dodge. Feels less gamey and more fair/realistic. Would also help fights not to drag on for 5 minutes from both players just wiggling permanently. There is also a feature in hunt showdown where if you jump too many times consecutively it guts your move speed for like 1 second. And if you spin like an animal with your mouse to dodge, it slows your rotation slows drastically for about 1 seconds as well. I love this mechanic because it takes away the cheese of ppl just freaking out and forcing otherwise good players to miss. And it rewards pol who are actually good at aiming. I would love a change like this in D&D
This is all ther easons why this game is terrible. Tired of bunny hopping meta in games.. It was originally a bug in older games, that was an oversight that was abused by players to avoid or get around speed limitations… Then suddenly it just became a normalized thing.. and its dumb af, and I hate it. It’s not skillful, and it just looks stupid af on every level. Same for the crab walking dumbassery we have in Dark and Darker… a fking barbarian roaring, and flailing his arms while side stepping at me like he’s crab walking the whole time… like good god… nothing about this game is good right now, its all a meme.
