Is Disney No Longer Magical?

Disney World is experiencing a decline in its magic, with over two-thirds of fans feeling that the park has lost its essence. The Magical Express, free MagicBands, and package delivery from the parks to hotels have all been discontinued. This has led to a sense of disconnection between Disney and its guests.

Despite the massive changes to the Disney Parks, Disney’s magic remains strong, as evidenced by a recent survey that found more than half of Disney World fans believe that the park has lost its magic. The company’s failure in other ventures and recent movie flops have contributed to this loss, with high costs charged to visit the parks.

Disney theme park loyalists have also expressed their criticism of these changes, with some even bemoaning on social media. While Disney itself is not “dying”, the magic produced by the company seems to be fading. The company’s compulsion to resurrect beloved classics into inferior live-action films has made the magic feel long gone.

As of January 1, 2022, Disney’s Magical Express will no longer provide service, as part of a series of updates about what’s coming to Disney World. As Disney is known for being expensive, the Magic has become increasingly expensive, which can put a damper on the magic for many families.

In conclusion, while Disney’s Magical Express and other attractions have been discontinued, there is still room for growth and change in the Disney Parks. With $60 billion worth of changes yet to come, Disney must continue to adapt and maintain its magic to ensure continued visitor satisfaction and enjoyment.

Will my 3 year old MagicBand still work?

MagicBands are a popular choice for guests at Walt Disney World Resorts, with some reports suggesting they last for up to five years. However, it is recommended to replace them after the recommended two years to avoid potential issues at the park entrance or resort room. The MagicBand+, an upgrade, is rechargeable and comes with a charging cable, allowing for multiple use during vacations. These items can be found on shopDisney. com or at gift shops at the resorts.

Do MagicBands from 2015 still work?

The older MagicBands are still valid for use in Walt Disney World, but they may be drained of their magical energy and no longer work. They can be out of power by the time you visit in fall. There is no way to test this at home, and batteries cannot be replaced. The recommendation is to bring your current MagicBands with you and see if they work. If they do, you can use most of what the new MagicBand+ bands can do, but not everything. Some interactive adventures may not work with the older bands, but this may not be important to you.

What happened to Disney Magic hours?

In 2020, Disney World retired its Extra Magic Hours and introduced two new perks for guests staying on property: Early Theme Park Entry and Extended Evening Hours. Early Theme Park Entry allows guests to enter the parks 30 minutes before opening, while Extended Evening Hours allow guests to stay in the parks after they close. These perks are available at Disney World Deluxe Resorts, Deluxe Villa Resorts, Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Hotels, Walt Disney World Swan Reserve, and Shades of Green. These hotels offer extended hours on select nights at select parks, allowing guests to enjoy a variety of rides and attractions with lower wait times.

The first version of MagicBands, the MagicBand2, was discontinued and no longer available. The MagicBand+, which is now the most readily available, can be found in limited quantities on shopDisney. com, My Disney Experience, and stores throughout the Walt Disney World Resort. The original MagicBands have lost their functionality as they are about 10 years old or older. The MagicBand2 batteries last up to two years, with some guests reporting longer life. The MagicBand+ is rechargeable, which is a welcome update to the MagicBand family. To find older-style MagicBands, consider using a popular online auction website.

What is replacing MagicBands?

MagicBand+ is a new feature at Walt Disney World, but it’s not the only option for entering the parks and other features. MagicMobile is a service that uses your phone or other smart devices as an alternative. These options are part of the integrated MyMagic+ system, which integrates various aspects of the Walt Disney World experience into one system. The My Disney Experience app allows for Advance Dining Reservations and Genie+ reservations, while the other half occurs in the physical world through touchpoints.

The official MyMagic+ page no longer mentions it, but it’s still available in the fine print. This post compares and contrasts the options, providing basic background and commentary on which one you prefer.

Does Disneyland still use MagicBands?

MagicBand+ technology can be used at Disneyland Resort, Walt Disney World Resort, and Disney Cruise Line ships. To use MagicBand+, connect it to your My Disney Experience account online or through the My Disney Experience App. The Disneyland Mobile App and the My Disney Experience App do not talk to each other, so data on one cannot transfer to the other. Charge your MagicBand+ every night to have enough juice for the day.

Walt Disney World Theme Parks offer fun MagicBand+ interactive opportunities, such as the large medallion in Downtown Disney in Anaheim and the Disney Fab 50 Character Collection. Be sure to play the Disney Fab 50 Character Collection while in the theme parks to see what they say.

  • I mean is it really a surprise that Disney feels entitled to discuss those subjects at this point? I’ve been going to Disney since I can remember, going all the way from Peru to Orlando and their motto isn’t really “We work for the people” rather they have incrementally increased prices to the point that I know many loyal fans can’t afford to go and much less stay at Disney at this point which is a shame, and that just shows that they are no different from other large corporations, so they should not have special benefits as so. Reason I’m glad they were stripped of their self-governing status.

  • I became disgusted with Disney on many levels, including signs of this wokeness, many years ago. It was the go to vacation when my children were young. They’re adults now. At one time I had dreams of taking future grandchildren to Disney, not gonna happen. There are better and more welcoming places where I can spend my hard earned money and take my grandchildren.

  • This is so ridiculous – Disney has definitely lost its magic. My friend who I affectionately called “the real Disney Princess” because she was so Disney and goes at least 4 times per year from Ohio is now trying to get out of her membership. Dollars will talk. I hate to lose Disney from Florida have a home there) but we will be willing to let them go for the greater good.

  • I have a close friend who works for Disney (in Burbank) and this close friend is being driven out of Disney due to not overtly supporting left wing politicians and causes, this person was told, after more than twenty years of loyal service, that they are “just not the right fit at this point”. I fear retaliation against this person so much that I won’t say anything more or give any details. The way this person described Disney work environment was very much like North Korea, in terms of you have to spastically applaud and shriek with joy any time LGBTQ themes come up, and scream with rage if anything Christian or conservative is observable at all.

  • I have been going to Disney since I was 2 years old, an Annual Passholder, and go 1-2 times a month (I do not live in Florida). I stay at the resorts, but I go to escape politics, and the reality of the world to enjoy some time off and not have to worry about things. They have become too politically motivated it’s not the escape as it used to be, even the CMs sadly are starting not to be nearly as helpful and I do not blame them. Not sure if I will renew my pass or not right now but sadly it is not the same place it was 3-4 years ago.

  • “They’ve made it very clear that conservative Christian voices have no place visiting their parks or working at their parks.” Not just the parks. And nothing new about Disney’s anti-family agenda either. I raised my kids refusing to let them watch most of the modern Disney films. Old Disney flicks only.

  • I worked for a company that relocated from my hometown to Orlando and I spent over a year helping with the relocation. This was 20 years ago and because I spent so much time there, I had a chance (at company expense) to see the Orlando Magic, Disney and some of the competing parks like Universal Studios, etc. Back then I saw some warning signs, not because of Disney’s political stances but because this form of entertainment was in danger of pricing itself out of the market. The primary function of a company is to sell their product and to make money for the owners, whether they are a private company or a stockholder company like Disney. ANYTHING THAT WORKS AGAINST THAT IS WRONG. We have seen what catering to the woke movement has done financially to companies, and none of this has been positive. There may be times when it is right and important for companies to take a social stance, but the stance that Disney took was not one of these times. Our society is quite diverse, and I believe that everyone should be treated courteously and with some level of respect just because they are fellow humans, and that goes for those who do not fit the stereotypical norm. I believe in public education because our society needs its citizens to be able to read, write, do basic math, etc. when they leave the home. They need to have some level of understanding on how the government works and some understanding of history, so they know how and why we are where we are today. But indoctrinating children in school should not be part of the curriculum.

  • Back in the early ’60s, my high school (like many others) held their graduation party at Disneyland. It truly was a Magic Kingdom back then. Now it’s descended into madness, and seeks to lead our children into licentiousness and debauchery. It breaks my heart to see what has become of what was once such a wonderful place, and no- I won’t ever go there again, nor will my children & grandchildren.

  • Peter Jackson: “We made a promise to ourselves at the beginning of the process that we weren’t going to put any of our own politics, our own messages or our own themes into these movies. What we were trying to do was to analyze what was important to Tolkien and to try to honor that. In a way, we were trying to make these films for him, not for ourselves.” If only Disney did this to honor Walt Disney.

  • It is terrible that a company would disregard the majority of it’s employees over something like this. They won’t be seeing my family there ever, but I do feel for those employees, like others and other companies that decided a few “woke,” idiots are worth their long standing tradition. Coca Cola, Home Depot, Disney, how have such longtime staples gone so belligerently against their founders ideals? Good luck to the silent majority, you will be heard before the end of this. God Bless.

  • My last visit to Disney was 18 years ago, when my sister’s kids were young. My sister and brother in law just weren’t “into the Disney experience” at all, but my husband and I were!! They went back to the hotel room, and we made MEMORIES! Which is all I have now, and maybe will have have. My husband passed away young, and the baby, who wasn’t even two at the time, never had any desire to go to Disney. She’s tiny, and the noise and the crowds and the lines and the pushing – she wouldn’t have enjoyed that. I pray that by the time I have Grandchildren, ALL of the deviant debauchery will have been dispatched from Disney, and the magic is back along with the MORAL MAJORITY, no longer silent! We need a SWIFT RETURN, not only to that majority, but to the NATIONAL PRIDE inherent in being a “Baseball, Hotdog, Apple Pie and Chevrolet” MAINSTREAM SOCIETY! Forget any “POT!” That pot doth runneth over DECADES ago!! Time to STRAIN ALL OF THE CRAP OUT, and return America TO THE AMERICANS!

  • My 9 year old daughter never preferred Disney growing up. I took her once and she was unimpressed by the park. I took her to Universal studios when she was 6 years old and she fell in love with it. I asked her to which park did she want season passes and she immediately chose Universal. We’re on it second yearly pass and happy with our investment and choice.

  • My friend had a lot of stock in Disney and just sold. We live 40 minutes from Disney and will not drive any of our house guests there any more. If they want to go, it is up to them to get there, but I will not “contribute” to anything that takes parental rights away. Parents should be the only ones to decide how and when these topics are approached.

  • Even before all the leftist crap started the magic was gone for me. The parks are way too crowded, the admission is too expensive, the food is too expensive, attractions are closed for long periods for renovations, the wait times are too long, and because of this at the end of a day in the park you look back and see that you spent a very long and exhausting day fighting extremely overcrowded conditions and waiting in line forever to ride 4 or 5 decent rides and spent a fortune in the process. So you endure going to he parks as a sacrifice you make for your kids or grandchildren but now the company takes a position ( or more accurately, a few people claiming to represent the company) supporting immorality and you feel like in order to protect your family you have to stay away from these sickos that want to teach your kids all kinds of sick perverted crap that nobody has any business teaching young children about in the first place. Disney is anything but a family place or company anymore, they more closely fit the description of a predator now.

  • I remember every year for ab 5 or 6 years, my grandparents would get me and my brother for the summer and take us to Disney world. It was magical, something I’ll never forget. I always looked forward to having children and being able to give that experience to them. It looks like my conservative, Christian voice will find other ways to do that for my baby girl. Enjoy going belly up Disney

  • Had the privilege of meeting & talking with this great visionary Walt Disney; in Palm Springs many years ago on several occasions . Walt was known to personally walk through the park (Disneyland), wonder into different departments & ask what workers were working on. Doing this, he would get a feel about whether employees were happy working there. Happy employees was essentially key to create Disneyland being “The Happiest Place on Earth” Walt Disney would not have allowed this “negative ” atmosphere/work environment to highjack His park & his vision HE created for the park. CEO has a fiduciary responsibility to its stock holders AND to the Millions of families/ppl who spend 30 BILLION DOLLARS a year!! TO “CLEAN UP” the parks and remove this toxic environment Ppl go to the parks to “LIVE THE FANTASY” Walt created, Walt would not have supported this kind of environment NOR would he be happy to see HIS’s Life’s Work be decimated by this VIRUS of unhappiness & negativity.

  • 1000% right what employees are saying. I work at Aulani resort in Hawaii and the magic, integrity and respect for any core values that created Disney is absolutely gone. There is no inclusion or accountability from anyone in leadership positions. Been there for 11 years and now I’m done being disrespected. Just sad

  • I used to go to Disney World, quite often, especially when I live in the Tampa Bay area in Florida. But I will never visit that facility ever again, because of the woke, mentality. It is disgraceful what they’re preaching, and trying to enforce, on their employees, and guests. Today is April 29th 2022. Walt Disney would be turning over in his grave, if he were aware of what was going on.

  • A few years ago I made Disney off limits in our home. Some of my grandkids were perusal a Disney program and I saw the perversion that had been slipped in. Thankfully I was perusal with them! I immediately turned it off and explained why this had no place in our Christian values! It’s not just Disney. It’s Nickelodeon, PBS and others. People let their kids watch unsupervised “kid shows” thinking it’s ok. Sadly, it’s not like that any longer. We as Christians need to take a stand against all this perversion being pushed on our children and grandchildren!

  • The magic is gone. My wife, a former disney employee, and I visit disney world multiple times a year with friends and family. No more. We’re looking at other, cheaper, options with politics absent from our vacation time. Amazing how such a special place can turn to ruin so quickly…. and we were married in disney world 🙁

  • I moved away from Florida for 10 years. I was really looking forward to getting season passes for Disney. My favorite park in America is Epcot. I can’t ride lots of big rides anymore as I broke my back in a car accident. Disney has taken it to far but thank you to Universal Studio’s for reasonably priced season passes and staying out of politics. We are really enjoying our annual passes to Universal!!!

  • I’m a Brit who had planned to take my grandchildren for a surprise trip Disneyland for Christmas. I did the same for their cousins 10 years ago and we all had a fantastic time. We’re now looking at all things Harry Potter. I’ve no worry we won’t find somewhere magical, I just wish the same could be said for Disneyland employees.

  • Good For Them ! As someone who watches TV shows and movies, I think devoting soo much energy to spreading this “Woke Agenda” has had a homogenizing effect on what’s being created. Ideas like good story telling, good writing, good character development have taken a back seat to pushing social ideologies.

  • It really is heartbreaking. My family has been going to Disneyland sense it opened. My grandmother worked there and she took my mother, my mother took me and I now take my child. It’s sad to think that our families tradition which has given us so many happy memories could be taken from us. Yet we are not about to support any organization that behaves the way Disney is behaving. Maybe it’s time to build a new replacement for Disney and finally leave them in the dust. Their partnerships with China are worth our departures alone. Their hypocrisy is astounding. The “wokeness” and the grooming is simply the nail in the coffin… The only thing still truly sacred in this world is our children!

  • as a former castmember, im deeply saddened by the turn that the company has taken. ive seen it happening for years now, but im enormously happy that others are finally seeing what ive seen for the past decade. i really do hope that the company does get new and better leadership, not only for the sake of the company, but for the sake of their castmembers, the magic, and the happiness that they used to bring to families and people all over the world.

  • She’s right. The Magic’s gone. We were just there last week at Magic Kingdom. I only saw 3 employees even barely smile or look like they were having fun, & we were there from 8:30 am. – 10:30 pm. Nothing felt right. The streets weren’t spotless like they used to be. Even the park guests didn’t look happy. It feels so different. We aren’t going back.

  • This is the most ridiculous issue that’s ever occurred. We are all just trying to live our lives, we don’t have time to investigate what you want to be called to avoid offending you. I’m at work to get my job done and go home to my family. Get your family to call you what you want that’s all who really matters.

  • We lived in North Hollywood, CA when I was born in 1952. Two years later Disneyland opened. I have so many happy memories going there. Even as an adult, when our kids were raised and gone, my friends and I would go without kids, because the MAGIC was always there. Sadly, I will never go again. The world has gone insane.

  • Laura this is absolutely probably one of your best shows I’ve ever seen great job great job Governor DeSantis great guests and we are proud as Floridians to have the Santa says our governor and we are proud to have these women that were on your stage stand up and fight to fight for parents and if there’s anything anybody else can do to help them please let me know I do not have this issue with my little ones in the school but if I did I would be standing and fighting alongside those women and God bless Those two officers that moved to Florida for a better life we appreciate it

  • Well, it’s good to know that as a Christian and a conservative, that I’m not welcome at Disney’s parks. Hey Bob, there’s a LOT of Christians and conservatives not only in FL and CA, but all over the country. I’m sure that we’d be just as happy to spend our money at Universal Studios. Congratulations. You played yourself.

  • This makes me extremely sad. Can’t anyone focus on the task at hand anymore? Your job Disney is to entertain this world, make us happy, be the happiest place on Earth. That’s what you’ve done BEAUTIFULLY for many many years. The current crop of poor excuses for executives can’t keep their eye on the ball. It doesn’t just apply to Disney. This is happening all over the globe. Do what you do, mind your business, keep your political BS OUT OF IT. When Plunk down THOUSANDS of dollars, I do not expect to hear about this crap. I predict if you don’t stop this garbage your parks will suffer, your stock will crumble and you will be fired.

  • I spoke out about “inclusion” that it meant everyone was treated the same. Then pointed out how often I was not being treated equally. There are cliques and if you don’t belong to one of these groups you are held to a different standard. As a result … I was called in on out of context comments I made months ago … being given undesirable assignments often … being called out on petty perceived breeches in protocol … hours cut … no OT being offered and after receiving guest and cast mates recognitions almost daily (sometimes several in a day) to ZERO. This is after one Keys to the Kingdom cast member was doing the recognition in front of me and two guests who were doing it as I spoke to them … never showed up. It breaks my heart that someone who loves making the magic … is a responsible, dependable dedicated cast member is being LEFT OUT because I don’t conform. That’s not inclusive. That’s victimization, alienation and prejudice.

  • Born in Orlando and grew up there. I’ve since moved away for a job but it’s very sad to see this happen with Disney. I have the best memories of going to Disney with my family and Friends and it truly was a magical and happy place to be. I even watch the homemade articles my dad took at Disney of my family in the early 90’s with his HUGE article camera lol. I now have a 3 year old and was excited to take him so he could experience it, but as a parent I have to draw the line somewhere. It’s very expensive to stay at Disney with cost like Resort, food, and park fee. Disney should stay out of politics and focus on what they do best. Entering the park you always felt stress free and you almost felt like a child again. No-one was thinking about politics or all this wokeness crap. People are there to have a great time. I personally won’t spend my money at Disney when they are shoving this woke garbabge down parents throats.

  • Went to Disney with my gf (now wife) and her cousin a few years before wokeness took hold. At that time, we paid $104 individually just for one park. For lunch, around $12 for what amounted to an elementary school chicken nugget meal. Minnie mouse ears (cheap a55 China product) for the gf were around $15. I’ll always have the memories and the pics to reminisce with but dang, it’s a straight up money grab for this company.

  • It’s not the company it’s the ceo and the people running it! Get rid of these idiots and put back the people who made Disney what it once was! A magical place for children and adults without having to worry about politics! Also people who will make Disney what is once was the cleanest place on earth!

  • I recall my father taking me to Disneyland in the 50s. Everybody dresses up in their Sunday best and it was welcome Ladies and Gentle men, boys and girls to the happiest place on earth.Decades later they redid the Pirates of the Caribbean so that that it was politically correct and I think that is where it started. Went back recently with my grand kids (boy and girl). Will not go back again.

  • I was raised to say “Yes Sir, No Sir, Yes Ma’me, etc”….I will never, EVER stop doing that, and i dont care WHO i ‘offend’. If you ‘choose’ to change your pronoun, then go for it, but do NOT expect the whole world to suddenly accept it in the same breath as you. You have a right to call yourself whatever you like, and others have the right to accept it or not! If i call you something i was raised to say, and you become ‘offended’ then you should never leave your house, and learn that not ALL the world will suddenly change what a life time has taught them. I’m waiting to see what the next ‘new’ pronoun is! I’m sure someone will come up with a new one that millions will “suddenly” identify with, yes sir! i can probably bet on that!

  • My sister in law’s husband, 10+ year employee with Disney, got canned. Why? Because he made an off hand comment about a character costume having a nice looking butt (or something silly like that). And that was it. Some girl complained to HR. He was sacked on the spot. No reprimand, not warnings, no write ups. Just fired. Now should he have said it? No, absolutely not. Should he have gotten fired? No, I don’t believe so. He would’ve learned his lesson just as quickly had he been reprimanded. But no. They decided robbing him of his livelihood was the most fitting punishment. And the one that ratted him out? I’m sure she’s sitting pretty, patting herself on the back thinking she made the world a better place. Unbelievable.

  • My dad loved coming home from work on any random Friday and having us pack up to spend the weekend at Disney World when I was growing up. He loved it. He died almost 2 years ago now and I know how disgusted he was with the state of our country before he died, he would be so sad about this nasty turn of events at DW. For me, it’s sad. Just another thing ruined by the left. 😪

  • I will still take my kids to Disneyland. I tell them at the end of every ride right before the exit line takes us into a gift shop, remember kids, only steal up to $900 of Disney merchandise today in total, not from each gift shop, because that is all that is allowed in California before it becomes a crime.

  • I agree, in 2018.I lost my job Walt Disney company for talking about a movie. Just because my opinion expressed that a character wasn’t shown as part of the alphabet (Bohemian Rhapsody). A mob of the woke left got me fired for “involuntary violation of company policy”. For speaking my own beliefs in a calm conversation manner. That company has gone down the drain.

  • I have been going to WDW my entire life, every year or so, and I loved it – it felt like home. I’ve always wanted to share that with new friends and family, and share the experiences I had and loved, but I can’t, that feeling is gone. I hate taking someone who’s never been, having to tell people how it “used to be.” It’s not worth the money anymore, and that’s a shame, because the employees are the ones that made it magical.

  • When your own employees speak out in numbers they can’t be all liars or be conspirators. This is a real mutiny and I love seeing it!! Disney runs their company with an iron fist controlling employees and telling them what to do like mechanical robots. If it were my first day on the job there, I’d be lucky to last til lunch break.

  • I love this and wish employees from other companies would follow suit. I work at a Starbucks and they just instilled a very disgusting policy that does not let me use ma’am or sir or I could essentially be fired. It’s worrying that they’re so worried about pushing a political agenda then just running a business.

  • Having thoroughly enjoyed my tenure as a cast member, I always told friends I would love to rejoin the team if I lived near a park. That desire to be part of Disney magic is gone. Instead of bringing wonder and joy to children, they are supporting grooming and sexualization. Admittedly, leadership had always leaned a bit left, but they knew their audience. Now the agenda is more important than carrying on Walt’s legacy.

  • I bet if Walt Disney himself were alive right now, and saw what his company has become, he’d be extremely upset and disappointed at the people that were supposed to carry on his dream legacy of a land where imagination full of family fun never ends. I’m deeply saddened that the place that I enjoyed going to for trips when I was kid has sunk this low. This is why I hate politics. It divides people and ruins iconic legends such as this. The people that have nothing better to do than ruin things like this for people need to be stopped at all costs.

  • Five years ago we went with our Goddaughter and her family to WDW. As a treat we took her to the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique for a Princess Makeover. We were very surprised and a bit revolted that Princess Jasmine was OBVIOSLY a young man. Five o’clock shadow and all. We ALL noticed – hard not to. And were NOT happy. I really don’t care what a person does in the privacy of their home, and with whom, but that had NO PLACE at WDW. This crap going on now is just Disney’s crowning achievement.

  • “The Magic Is Gone” this hurts so bad, my family is vacation club and have been since the 90’s and it’s my favorite place in the world. The cast members are half of the magic, they are what makes the parks so special, and if they aren’t happy the magic is lost. And the fast pass system and all the other quick cash things is just sad. It’s supposed to be an escape from the outside world and affordable to all. That was Walt’s plan, it just seems so far away. ….Again purely from a Disney World fans point of view about the actual experience in the parks… not a comment in anyway of the actions and thoughts of people on either side of the current situation.

  • I’ve been waiting for my son to reach a age where he would remember visiting Disney world like I did as a child but we will never go now. I will not even let him watch any of their movies from recent years past or in the future. I’m absolutely disgusted with what they’ve become. I really wonder what Walter Disney would say if he could see it now.

  • Disney has been programming society with subliminal messaging in their films for years. Walt knew that the best way to corrupt people is to start young, their scenes are crafted with subtle changes distorted to the way they want things to be, literally programming youth to think and act in a manner they desire so they can be led down a path predictably. The catchy songs are so kids will repeat it and memorize it, and like visual MSG they watch it over and over affecting their morals, personalities and actions. Poisoning minds of youth with perversions of reality is sick, Disney should have been boycotted years ago and the employees of that evil cabal should be blacklisted from everything possible. I’ll certainly never hire any of them for anything, from the CEO down to the people that make the Disney properties a different world, all of them don’t deserve to scoop elephant dung by hand for a living. Companies that hire ex-Disney executives should be avoided because they are allowing demons that contributed to the poisoning of our youth’s minds to continue on with life like they aren’t guilty, that’s like hiring Hitler’s old crew to work for you, it’s like excusing their actions. Disney wants to control the way children think about every relationship they have with parents, teachers, God, country, communism, sexuality, gender, beastiality, abduction and captivity, obviously can’t break down the many horrible examples in each movie but I highly recommend perusal Jordan Peterson talking about Pinocchio, yeah I know it sounds weird right, but check the article out and you’ll see just how insane the level of programming is in their movies.

  • I’m fed up too, and YES, the “Magic” is (long) gone. Our family helped “open the park” the first day (!) in the 50’s in S. California. My cousin worked as Snow White. My sister and I were “Mouseketeers” who watched as children daily. We visited the park every year, and loved it. I did the same with my eldest daughter. The movies were outstanding back then, animated and R/L. That has all changed. I don’t like Disney’s politics, Disney’s movies, or any of their agenda. Say goodbye and move on. Disney is GONE; what you see is a greedy, power mongering, and corrupt (poorly) “hidden agenda” driven organization, connected to the same in this world (the evil ruining this world.) RIP Disney Land; Disney World; it was wonderful long ago..

  • Disney started changing over 35 – 40 years ago. I used to hear complaints from many in the crafts department, characters, maintenance, etc. Had several friends who used to work there, and met others through them. Once HR became fully infected it was a matter of time. Each department changed, and it was apparent to long time employees.

  • Honestly, why does anyone expect this reaction to be any different than it has been? The majority still want to be able to take.their children to a place where all can enjoy the wonder and splendor that Disney was always known for being. Instead the “decision makers” have turned it in to a perverted piece of garbage along with their movies, tv programming, etc. Walt Disney had a vision for giving back something special to the family and it did great following that template until some “geniuses” dismantled it and turned into a den of debauchery. I sincerely hope it TOTALLY implodes on itself, and I mean NOT just the parks but ALL areas that carry the Disney trademark. Disney had become extremely expensive, but many of us made allowances for our kids; just how many people want to now spend that kind of money for pure filth??!!!!!!!!!!

  • I used togo to Disneyworld as a kid because my cousin lived in Orlando and I would spend summers with them. I loved Disney…especially the ” it’s a small world” ride . Went back as an adult and wondered what I loved about it. The price to park and admission was staggering. Every single purchase was outrageously expensive. Now with their woke ideology I’ll never go back. Would love to go with grandkids, but who can afford it? Or want to patronize it now?

  • When you agree to work for someone you agree to the SOP’s of their business. We live in strange times where everyone is trying to be something they’re not and stand out. Disney is embracing that so they dont get sued. Im clearly a female and was asked my pronouns to get my ears pierced last year. I was furious and I’ll never go back to that tattoo shop again even if they are the best in city. We all have to conform to this new wave of BS. It’s truly a shame

  • I’m so happy to see so many standing up for morals and standards, instead of politics and a small majority of people who aren’t sure about themselves and want to spread uncertainty throughout the world. Thank you for protecting our children, grandchildren and the majority. Being a life long fan of Mickey and Mr. Walt Disney, I’m sure you are making him proud for standing up for what Mr. Disney stood for and built for our family entertainment. Why “people” want to take out “family” of this equation and turn it into a “drag queen” and what ever all those letters stand for that equals, “I’m not sure about myself and I want you to feel the same sad way” people, has chosen the wrong, decades old, establishment and couldn’t be happier to see so many stand up for what is right! Thank y’all so much!!

  • I had an AP since the 90’s. I took it on the chin with all the price increases. I was injured in 2018 and am now permanently disabled. I called to ask if I still qualify for DAS. I was told that I should make my reservation and call again when I’m 60 days out… So they want me to plan a vacation, put a deposit, purchase park tickets, flight tickets, devote many hours and money to planning without knowing if I can physically do this. I told customer service that I will not be going to WDW any time soon and will never be getting an AP again. I look forward to Epic Universe opening.

  • Bob Iger’s “legacy” will be the complete & total destruction of the greatest family entertainment company in history. Under Iger, Disney has increased prices by over 40%, decreased what you get with that extra money, decreased the experience you’re paying for and destroyed the brand that families have trusted & relied on for decades. Iger has relied on the name of “Disney” to keep people coming back to the parks & spending money on Disney products, but he’s managed to ruin that as well. Families don’t trust “Disney” anymore & with good reason. There are Disney employees & executives flat out stating that their goal is to indoctrinate our children. Entire IP’s have been completely destroyed. He kept Kathleen Kennedy in power, who has managed to singlehandedly gut, destroy & devalue the greatest IP in cinema history. Iger’s failure will be complete in 2025 when Epic Universe opens & people truly have a cheaper & exponentially better alternative to Disney World.

  • My dad has terminal cancer, and I have neurological disabilities. We live in Scotland. We booked a Disney World holiday when DAS was still there, under the impression that all we needed to do was call and organise 60 days out or so. Then they suddenly changed DAS. I emailed them with my concerns and was disgusted when they replied to me with a pre-generated email telling me that international ‘guests’ could only apply for DAS *once we had landed on US soil*. I emailed them again asking for clarification on whether me and my dad were eligible with our specific conditions, and they sent me another email saying the exact same thing. THEN when they changed to the new Lightning Lane system, they decided to block international guests from purchasing Lightning Lane UNTIL THEY WERE IN THE US. WHAT??? So they forced disabled guests from outside the US to buy LL, and now they don’t even let us do that until on the day, essentially making us scrounge for scraps? This is a MASSIVELY expensive holiday for us. I can’t believe Disney would be so callous and insensitive. We can’t pull out of our trip, but until there are HUGE changes to Disney management, we won’t be back. I feel like I’ve been made a fool of, robbed. Disabled people already suffer enough Disney. Thanks for showing how you really feel.

  • Was a Disney AP holder ever since 1998 when I moved to Florida. Yesterday,…for the first time ever…i got the Universal Power Pass (annual pass) I’m typing this I sit in a booth at the “Mell’s Drive-in” in Universal Studios. I no longer have a Disney AP and I used that money to buy this one. Why not? There is nothing at Disney in 2024-2026. It feels like ALL the Orlando action will be HERE in 2025. I might buy a one day ticket for MK…only for the purpose of taking pictures and saying goodbye to the Rivers of America. 🙁

  • I loved going to Disney World when I was a kid. It was really a celebration of America. Not just the obvious Hall of Presidents, etc.. but things like Tom Sawyer Island, which celebrated America’s greatest author. For 12-year-old kid living in Florida it was the closest thing I could come to an exotic trip around the world. Now it’s just designed to sell me more Disney merchandise and IP. All the magic is gone. I don’t think I’ll ever go back.

  • I was made redundant from my government job in 2021 and got a payout. I went to the US (from Australia) in February 2022 and stayed at both DL and WDW. I had been to both before in 2001 and 2002. The difference was REMARKABLE. Firstly, the planning I had to do beforehand was (and I am not kidding here) akin to a VERY stressful part-time job. I had to keep a LITERAL spreadsheet on how many days until certain restaurant reservations opened for me and had to ensure MONTHS in advance that I had the *%$#! reservations for the parks I wanted to be in, to ensure I could actually go to the restaurants I MAY have been lucky enough to snag. Add to that park policies changing sometimes almost DAILY and keeping up with it all saw me SO STRESSED OUT, I actually had a mini meltdown in Epcot one afternoon, as it was all too much. Add to that the cost of Genie Plus, Lightning Lanes and so on and it was just a NIGHTMARE. I used to be a FANATICAL Disney park fan but I can tell you this in all truthfulness – I will NEVER go back to the US parks. I have been to the Tokyo Disney Resort SIX TIMES and I consider THAT my home resort.

  • Agree with so many of these comments. Actually all of them. Been a hard core Disney fan for many years but have no intentions of going back until Disney realizes they are ruining everything. They will not change until attendance tanks and the money stops flowing. The only way for that to happen is for all of us to just stop going.

  • Several reasons why my family is stopping. High prices on Everything, No complimentary transportation, Took them 5 years to build 1 Tron ride ! And Universal 2 years for 5 lands in Epic Universe ! Not starting the new projects now to keep the customer base interested ! And Procrastination within the company as usual . Not starting new projects until sometime next year. What a joke ! Just saying.

  • Even as an AP holder who lives about 20-25 minutes away I just find myself not going as much anymore. It’s just not always as great. The wait times are too high (because of Genie+), it’s expensive even if you got into the park for essentially free. I used to go pretty much every single weekend and now it’s just every once in a while on a Sunday or something. IDK it’s just not as enjoyable anymore. I also agree the special event ticketed items like MNSSHP prices are absolutely absurd! It’s the same event as before when it was like $70-80/person to go and now it’s sometimes up to nearly $200/person for a 4-5 hour event!!! It also seems like Disney absolutely does not care about AP’s. They really don’t do anything for them. They seem to forget it was local AP’s that held Disney together during the pandemic. It was people like me that went and spent money on food and other misc things that kept WDW going. It’s AP’s that keep WDW going during slower times of the year. They just don’t seem to care.

  • We moved from the Northeast in 1992. One of the first things we did as a family was an American Express White Glove Vacation at the Beach Club. During that vacation, our family of five decided immediately that we would purchase Annual Passes and return every chance we got. We were fortunate to live close enough to Disney for weekend trips and we always stayed on property. As each of our sons grew up, graduated from college, and began their work lives they moved to Orlando to be even closer. When my wife and I retired in 2010, we also moved to the Orlando area just 17 miles from the Magic Kingdom. The entire family continued their Annual Passes except me because I fulfilled a long held dream of being a Disney Cast Member. I had a couple of roles at Disney ending up at the DVC where I stayed until the end just before COVID hit and literally put the brakes on Disney. I was known to my fellow DVC Cast Members as the guy who lived and breathed Disney. Disney was in my blood! I loved Disney and everything it stood for until now. We have not been to Disney since and have no plans to return. Walt Disney World is no longer the Walt Disney World we loved and wanted to return and return. Sadly, Disney is done! And I sincerely doubt that Walt Disney World will ever return to its glory days.

  • We went in 2018 and 2019 and it was an amazing experience. We then went in 2022 and it was AWFUL. The loss of magical express was huge. We really felt conned and ripped off. Parks were dirty. They were charging loads for things that used to be built-in to the holiday. Magical Express gone. Magic bands gone. Fast passes gone. Housekeeping gone. Happy cast members gone.

  • As someone who used to go to WDW every year I have called it quits for the foreseeable future. It’s one thing to raise prices but it’s another thing to raise prices and also take away things that used to be included (ie Magic Bands, Magical Express, Fast Passes, being able to freaking park at the hotels). But now they’re getting rid of things I enjoy like Tom Sawyer Island in order to shovel in more of the beloved “IPs” that are hot right now regardless of how they fit but don’t really have that timeless quality. Universal has a new park coming next year that looks incredible and the Universal Monsters is my all time favorite film franchise so I’ll likely check that out next Orlando trip.

  • I remember being in the parks in 2022 trying to see my phone screen in the blazing sun as the pressure of trying to find something to ride for the kids sunk in. It was pretty miserable having saved thousands to be there. I didnt want to be glued to my phone. Then perusal 20 Lightning Lane people immediately go through vs 2 standby line people- well, we felt like absolute peasants! Hardly a magical experience

  • When you spoke about corporations caring about their guests, I immediately thought of the Universal Parks. We are not renewing our pass for the exact reasons and I do feel like we aren’t being heard, we’re just given new lands and rides and told to shut up. Universal CONSTANTLY sends out surveys to their guests whether they’re passholders, day guests, etc. to which they listen AND implement those changes in their parks.
