Is The Most Potent Dbdz Character, Mystic Gohan?

Ultimate Gohan, also known as Mystic Gohan or Ultimate Gohan, is the most powerful form of the character, significantly stronger than other established Saiyan transformations like Super Saiyan 3 and Super Saiyan God. This transformation allows Gohan to reach 100 of his potential, growing stronger as he grows. When Gohan first learns the Mystic form, he is about the level of Super Saiyan 2 or 3.

Gohan’s power is unlocked during the Buu saga, when his latent power is unlocked. This power is stronger than Super Saiyan 3, as Gohan’s latent power is apparently stronger than Super Saiyan 3. In the Buu saga, Goku is the one who gets Gohan to use more power during their match.

Gohan’s transformation as a fighter is one of the central themes in Dragon Ball Super: Super. During a battle with Moro’s henchmen, Piccolo notes that Gohan is the strongest fighter on Earth, making Ultimate Gohan even more powerful than Android 17. By the end of the battle with Buu, Gohan is the strongest by the end of the battle.

Mystic Gohan is stronger than SSJ3 Goku at the end of Z. He was stronger than Super Buu, who is almost at the same level as SSJ3 Goku and SSJ3 Gotenks. In the Boo Saga, Gohan is the most powerful character (unfused), but after 10 years, Kakarotto’s power increases dramatically, reaching his father Goku as a Super Saiyan 3.

Gohan is the most robust character in all of Dragon Ball, and his power rarely turns into a Super Saiyan when achieved. His Mystic form is more powerful than the base Super Saiyan or Super Saiyan 2 forms, and when achieved, he rarely turns into a Super Saiyan.

Is Mystic Gohan The Strongest Unfused Character In Dragonball Z? In this video, we go over the long controversy of whether …

Is Majin Vegeta stronger than Mystic Gohan?

Vegeta is regarded as being more powerful than any iteration of SS2 Gohan. This is particularly evident when considering the conclusion of the Dragon Ball Z series. Other popular games include Dragon Team, Frieza Force, Red Ribbon Army, Organization of Babidi, Team Universe 6, Pride Troopers, Dark Empire, Dragon Ball, Dragon Ball Z, Kai, Super, Daima, Super Dragon Ball Heroes, Dragon Ball GT, and Dr. Slump.

Could mystic Gohan turn ssj?

It is not possible for Gohan to become a Super Saiyan once he has acquired the Mystic/Ultimate form, as this is not a state of complete power but rather a form. Other popular games include Dragon Team, Frieza Force, Red Ribbon Army, Organization of Babidi, Team Universe 6, Pride Troopers, Dark Empire, Dragon Ball, Dragon Ball Z, Kai, Super, Daima, Super Dragon Ball Heroes, Dragon Ball GT, and Dr. Slump.

Can mystic Gohan beat super saiyan blue?

It is not possible for Gohan to undergo a Super Saiyan transformation while he is in his “ultimate” form, as Old Kai has already extracted the entirety of his power in its original, unadulterated state. Other popular games include Dragon Team, Frieza Force, Red Ribbon Army, Organization of Babidi, Team Universe 6, Pride Troopers, Dark Empire, Dragon Ball, Dragon Ball Z, Kai, Super, Daima, Super Dragon Ball Heroes, Dragon Ball GT, and Dr. Slump.

Why can’t Mystic Gohan go to SSJ?

Gohan cannot reach the SSSJ or beyond due to his power being limited to his base form. This means he cannot tap into the next level of power as there is no next level. Other popular manga series include Dragon Team, Frieza Force, Red Ribbon Army, Organization of Babidi, Team Universe 6, Pride Troopers, Dark Empire, Dragon Ball, Dragon Ball Z, Kai, Super, Daima, Super Dragon Ball Heroes, Dragon Ball GT, and Dr. Slump.

Why can’t Mystic Gohan go Super Saiyan?

Mystic Gohan didn’t transform because he reached his max state and raised his power levels to max, still getting creamed. He can raise his power level without having to transform first. This is why he didn’t transform. Other popular games include Dragon Team, Frieza Force, Red Ribbon Army, Organization of Babidi, Team Universe 6, Pride Troopers, Dark Empire, Dragon Ball, Dragon Ball Z, Kai, Super, Daima, Super Dragon Ball Heroes, Dragon Ball GT, and Dr. Slump.

Is mystic Gohan stronger than Super Saiyan 3?

The question about Mystic Gohan’s strength in Buu Saga depends on the manga’s stage. If it’s Buu Saga, it’s evident that Mystic Gohan is stronger than Super Buu, who was equal with Gotenks at the time. Other popular manga series include Dragon Team, Frieza Force, Red Ribbon Army, Organization of Babidi, Team Universe 6, Pride Troopers, Dark Empire, Dragon Ball, Dragon Ball Z, Kai, Super, Daima, Super Dragon Ball Heroes, Dragon Ball GT, and Dr. Slump.

Can mystic Gohan beat Super Buu?

It can be reasonably deduced that Super Buu, with Gotenks absorbed, is unlikely to prevail over Gohan unless Gohan’s strength is augmented when Gotenks is defused. By absorbing Gotenks, Buu was able to enhance his own strength, a feat he accomplished successfully. In the anime, their physical statistics were nearly equal.

Is it mystic or ultimate Gohan?

Gohan, a character in the series, has been referred to as Mystic Gohan and the Strongest Warrior. He has been referred to as Son Gohan Beast, Saiyan Beyond God, Potential Released, and Ultimate Mode. After Elder Kaiōshin unlocked his potential, Gohan achieved Ultimate Mode, also known as Ultimate Gohan. This mode allows him to use Super Saiyan 2 without the burden it places on his body, enabling him to achieve powers beyond Super Saiyan 2 and even Super Saiyan 3, even with Super Saiyan Blue. The Ultimate Gohan state has the least significant changes in appearance, with only slight increases in muscle mass, more upright and rigid hair, and narrowing of eyes.

Who is stronger mystic Gohan or golden frieza?

The text posits that Gohan and Frieza are comparatively weaker in DBS, yet both are situated at a level that is approximately equivalent to SSB. Gohan’s seriousness is evident when he threatens to end Frieza if he hurts one of the U7 fighters.

Slump.

Was Mystic Gohan the strongest?

Ultimate Gohan is the character’s most powerful form, significantly stronger than other Saiyan transformations like Super Saiyan 3 and Super Saiyan God. The Elder Kai’s mystical ritual and additional training made Gohan’s previous transformations obsolete. In the anime, Gohan is equal in power to Super Saiyan Blue, but the manga makes the form even stronger. In the 2022 film, Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero, Gohan reaches an even more powerful transformation called Gohan Beast Form, or Gohan Final.

Triggered by the rage he felt after Cell Max killed his mentor Piccolo, Gohan completely maxed his limits, becoming a beast powerful enough to go toe to toe with Cell Max. Gohan Beast took a massive hit from Cell Max and annihilated his enemy’s core.

  • AMAZING article, most powerscaling articles just take things way too slowly by going over unnecessary detail at a painful pace but this article is short and yet is still able to bring all the evidence possible to let the viewers decide their own stance. The faster presentation and editing made this article feel far more than just 10 minutes. Incredible work, Carthu.

  • I’m interested 😀 If we take the manga story we have so far, I reckon both him and Piccolo now in that circle with MUI Goku, UE Vegeta, and a full powered Broly is of course. Probably not above either Goku or Vegeta since what’s happened in the story, and since they’re literally been training since the Granolah Saga to surpass Black Frieza. However, if we just wanna just count DBS Broly as the last cannon material that’s happened, then apparently he’s stronger. 😅 Definitely an interesting topic depending on who you ask

  • Im not a hardcore fan that follows everything that happens in the Dragon Ball universe, but I’m certain the reason why a lot of people question Gohan and Cell Max is because of the suddenness of all these power-ups. Sure, it’s been mentioned before that Goku and Vegeta are reaching their max potential that even zenkai boost no longer grants any significant power-ups to them. Their progression is only going to slow ever more even when they’re training with Gods and Angels. However, regardless of that info, Goku and Vegeta have been consistently training and fighting. They’ve been the powerhouse of the entirety of Universe 7 with the exception of deities through all their battles and sacrifices, and we’ve witnessed them be pushed to be stronger time and time again. Yet suddenly these new Androids rivals their power because the story demands it. Yeah, totally make sense that a mortal scientist even with data can create robots powerful enough to match two saiyans with powers that can surpass gods of destruction. Since it’s been pointed out that Jiren is actually stronger than his Universe’s God of destruction, it only makes sense that with all their power-ups since the ToP, Goku and Vegeta are vastly stronger than Gods of destruction as well. Like, you’re really going to expect people to accept that a scientist out there can just pop out robots stronger than Gods of Destructions leisurely? The story so far have made it clear that Angels are so strong that they’re straight up not allowed to fight anyone seriously otherwise they vanish, and these Angels are responsible for training gods of destructions, and Goku and Vegeta are literally training with Whis and Beerus.

  • The movie displays a lot of similarities to the Cell Saga at the end of which gohan emerged as the strongest amongst the Z fighters. This movie may be a reference to him being the strongest of all but we haven’t really seen the true extent of gohan’s new power. We will have to see where the manga picks up as gohan’s and piccolo’s new forms are rumoured to become manga canon after the current Superhero saga.

  • The problem with the whole “They’re close to Goku and Vegeta” information that they give for certain villains or “side characters” is that, they don’t specify what form they are close to, we’re left to guess or assume, which creates. . .controversy. Which is why I appreciate you kind of pointing that out in 5:00

  • Gamma 1 & 2 “being on the level of Goku and Vegeta” probably refers to their SSB forms: SSB is the transformation they used the most on Earth (and the strongest one if you discount the manga), being even used by them in the fight against Broly. Additionally Ultimate Gohan, who can fight toe to toe with Gamma 1, has been previously shown to be on a level comparable to SSB Goku, in both anime and manga.

  • Honestly I like the concept of 2 continuities in dragon ball it makes it seem as if every episode and every manga page is both canon despite being completely different having the anime follow the manga is fine but super wasn’t only about fighting some of the slice of life gave us a peek into the life of the Z fighters when not fighting. Yes somethings in the anime are silly or bad like animation and making characters look bad but in a way Super is it’s own show having it diverge from the manga will really show how creative the team can get especially with the resources they have from the first season

  • Too be honest. Frieza with his amazing potential should be the strongest for a loooong time. He got to god levels in months. He trained for 10 years this time. The only people I can see catching him quickly are Uub and Broly. I say Broly because he got to god levels in hours and Uub because he technically already has god ki and supposedly the most potential of them all. Just needs training.

  • I really agree with everything, personally. think your 2nd power scale was close to if not entirely perfect. One inconsistency though, Goku and Vegetas new forms are god ki based, yet earlier in battle of God’s it was stated the only way to read God ki is by possessing it yourself, so how did anybody scale goku and vegeta? I don’t recall Gohan or Piccolo attaining God ki, and I’m pretty sure the guy who made the androids doesn’t have God ki either.

  • I’m starting to feel that Beast came from Ox King’s lineage and Gohan foreshadowed this in DBS saying explicitly that he wanted to evolve his human powers rather than Saiyan. And in DBSSH he was doing studies on ants, EARTHLING animals discovering that they evolve when in danger he likely did research on humans and discovered they could also have transformations. And seeing how the Alpha Zombie androids were in a short scene in the movie and were brung back for the manga the Super Ants might come back in the future. Earthlings always have been naturally stronger than the average Saiyan they just haven’t tapped into their potential training intensively like Goku and Vegeta and Androids are just mechanically tweaked humans and earthling bio warriors and everyone knows how OP the androids are in DB. Glad to see that Earthling are finally getting their shine

  • I really hope they don’t leave Broly behind in the dust. I’m a big fan of him and would love to see him get a new form that’s on par with at least Goku and Vegeta. I would also love to see him team up with them. Having Broly join their squad would be awesome. They would definitely be an unstoppable force if that happened. Just imagine a new villain showing up and now it’s not only Goku and Vegeta defending the universe but also Orange Piccolo, Beast Gohan and a new and improved Broly. The villain would probably shit his pants lol. It would be like a new age Z Squad.

  • Loved the article carthu, but I do have some questions. As for broly, wasn’t the broly they were mentioning supposed to be a currently training post granolah superhero broly? If that’s the case, then wouldn’t whis statement not be valid for him not being able to think of any specific warriors stronger than goku and vegeta at the moment? Because we know that there is clearly a time skip from goku and vegeta arriving back on beerus planet, picking up broly to train, and the events that transpire in superhero? Would this not mean that broly could’ve just surpassed goku and vegeta in that time slot and they wouldn’t upscale from it? This just means goku and vegeta are below broly and cell max and rival piccolo since the statements we are given could be referencing current goku and vegeta and the gammas would be equal or above to moro arc mui goku or just blue goku and vegeta from moro arc, with ultimte gohan and piccolo being relative, then beast and orange piccolo surpassing goku and vegeta from granolah arc and even right now. So this is how I would use the scaling chain. Beast gohan>black frieza (since we know broly was hiding from frieza)>cell max>orange piccolo>=PUI goku and UE vegeta>=Gamma 1 and 2 since they were able to do damage to cell max, albeit with self destruction and still lost to piccolo. It would be great if i could hear your thoughts, @Carthu’s Dojo.

  • With Jiren, he commands energy through his eyes and barely lifts a finger. He’s gotten this far without facing a foe as skilled as Goku or Vegeta so, like Broly, he can still transcend everyone with the same amount of intense training as the duo went through. Remember, both Kale and Broly have god-tier power upon their first super saiyan transformations and both are just acting on raw talent while still trying to control their rage. So, yes, Goku was indeed afraid truly because even if he was at max power, if Broly figured out SSJ2 that would be the end of him. With Gohan, we all know that he’s the best; his latent potential is the highest of all the saiyans and with very little effort as we’ve seen him grow up. If Gohan truly wished to become strong in the way Goku and Vegeta want it, there’s no doubt he’d be the strongest but I doubt that will ever happen. What I mean is Goku and Vegeta will never truly be #1 strongest due to their transformations, latent ability and prowess BUT they will be the most skilled giving them the widest arensal to work with. While, they may never truly realize that fact, Goku and Vegeta will be the strongest without actually being the “strongest” lets just say “most capable” compared to the other heroes.

  • Hmm since control over the power you already have is becoming such an important theme in super as you point out… I wonder what’ll happen with Broly if he learns to completely control his rage and power in a fight? Losing control is like his thing, what makes him strong… but maybe with control he’s an even more incomparable monster.

  • I guess, we have to see how the manga chapters work out their telling of the Gohan Beast form, since we are 100% sure now in the current chapter it is after the Granolah/Gas arcs and even Black Frieza as far as time line. So, statements that the Manga Beast Gohan may exceed Goku/Vegeta would mean stronger than their UI and UE forms. Remember, in the movies, it was written before the Moro arc so the movie writers had to make some safe bets and assumption: this was why Whis insist Goku and Vegeta spar at base forms in the movies. At that time, the animators and writers had no clue what Goku and Vegeta’s new form would look like by the time the movie actually will release in theatres. Now, the manga is catching up to the movie timeline, and Toyotoyo and Toriyama has to retrofit Granolah storyline into the Super Heroes storyline. And if Gohan beast is meant to be the strongest by the end of the arc, then the manga story will make Beast stronger than UE and UI with some more additional details we didn’t get in the movies. Such as Whis sensing Beast Gohan.

  • I didn’t realize that Gamma’s 1 and 2 had personalities that resembled Vegeta and Goku, respectively, until I heard you point out that they were designed to match and counter Vegeta and Goku’s combat abilities. That connects with the outcome of their fight on Beerus’ planet shown in the final scene of the movie, with Vegeta, the victor, being #1, and Goku, the loser, being #2.

  • I agree with Gohan Beast being the new ceiling of power and sitting above Goku and Vegeta. Feels like they’re shaking things up from the Goku being the strongest and saving the day story which happens for each saga. Can’t say for sure about Black Frieza but I think Gohan wins in a close fight. Gohan has always been that guy with the most latent potential so it makes sense he’s the strongest. Interesting to see how he compares to Beerus… it’s getting a little old/boring with Beerus being multiple tiers above everyone. Takes away from the urgency and tension of big battles because you know if shit hits the fan and there is a universal threat he could just step in. Angels can’t fight or interfere so I think things will only get really interesting again when a threat stronger than Beerus shows up… something even TUI/UE Gogeta can’t beat. Then Gohan and Broly fuse and we get a Legendary Beast mode Brohan fusion who is angel tier to save the day…. that would be awesome.

  • If I am correct, I believe it was said in the DBZ Cell Saga that Gohan holds back in fear of destroying everything/hurting those he cares about. Of course, that was a long time ago, but it could still be plausible. Piccolo even says in the movie that Gohan has the power to become the strongest being on Earth, now that could just be Earth, or he could mean in terms of everyone who lives there. Also with the fact that hybrids have a lot more potential than full-blooded saiyans, it’s quite likely Gohan does have the potential to rise up above Frieza. It would be cool to see him actually do that in DBS eventually, I personally think it would be more interesting than Goku or Vegeta unlocking some random new power for the millionth time. Also something I’ve thought about is how cool it would be to see a “Full Beast” form. Kind of like how Super Saiyan turns more “ape-like” every time it’s bumped up to SSJ2, SSJ3 and so forth. I mean, the form is literally called Beast. Just sharing a few thoughts here.

  • Beast Gohan can match or might even surpass Goku’s current MUI but let’s not forget what whis said that MUI isn’t the end goal but just a starting point which means MUI is still the most powerful Transformation/ technique and if Goku masters it like the angels than there is no doubt he is the strongest being in the multiverse (Aside from the angels and Zeno ofc but who knows?… U never knows when Goku shows up with a new power )

  • I don’t understand how “Once completed, it was supposed to be a metahuman that not even Broly would be able to beat, but he was forcibly activated early…” means that Broly is stronger than cell max. 1) Just because he says Cell Max turns into an uncontrollable monster does not mean he is weaker than Broly. 2) The two could be equivalent.

  • I personally think that the tier list is like this 1. Frieza 2. Goku 3. Vegeta 4. Gohan 5. Cell max or Broly 6. Cell max or Broly 7. Piccolo As you said the word “rival” is used EXTREMELY loosely not to mention that Gohan and Piccolo haven’t seen how much Goku & Vegeta have grown and also the word of Toriyama doesn’t have as much weight as it did before since he isn’t working on db as much as he did so his knowledge wouldn’t be what it used to be (also Toriyama is biased towards characters like Piccolo)

  • 9:57 in the movie Broly and Gogeta broke reality with a clash, then broke the broken reality again with a beam clash that somehow brought back reality. The argument with Cell Max potentially being significantly stronger if he had a brain ironically kinda solidifies the idea that Gogeta and Broly are kinda on their own planes of power. Obviously Gogeta is a bit more straightforward but Broly’s probably not holding anything back at all since by that point in the fight he’s completely lost touch with reality itself. He wasn’t even phased by the reality shatter, technically neither was Gogeta but the fusion still acknowledges it with a “what the-” moment. No other characters technically do anything similar except for Hit with his Time Skip, but I feel like that’s being generous since it’s technically a pocket reality? Not necessarily it’s own separate reality. Without much else added to his character, I don’t know if it’s 100% fair to say he’s below everyone, nor is it fair to say he’s better. Until we get even more on Broly I don’t think we’ll actually know where to put him in terms of strength. Yes his fight with Gogeta proves he’s powerful, but that’s without control. Once Broly has control we’ll have a more solid idea on how strong he actually is.

  • i think we all as a community should show feedbacks of approval of this different direction of power sclaing, less rigid and more based on situations, opening up the opportunity to give more relevance to oterwise marginal charachters. at this point any of them can be the protagonist of different fights. something like goten and trunk becoming experts of fusion and maybe developing a new form fro gotenks

  • black frieza will still be the strongest for a very long time, since he trained for so many years with the goal of staying on top of every saiyan transformation/ascension. i am happy that gohan is going back into the fray for once after so long, but i doubt he’ll be the strongest when the manga is finally animated. whether it aligns with the movies/manga or not, he’s going to get surpassed quickly or he’ll be shown to be weaker somehow

  • So my reasoning of saying beast Gohan is only relative to TUI and UE is due to Toryiama WRITING THIS MOVIE (not when the movie takes place in the timeline) right after finishing the Broly movies script (this was confirmed by Toryiama himself) and he mentioned how they didn’t have the Moro arc really planned until Toyotaru had gotten his break after the TOP so it’s safe to say TUI or UE vegeta wasn’t planned yet either since these took place in the gronola arc. Not only that but piccolo nor Gohan has seen goku and vegeta since the Moro arc, Gedo couldn’t have gotten any data from the gronola arc either since it only showed data from events on EARTH. So when piccolo uses all his statements it’s most likely referring to either A the Broly movie since Toryiama only referenced it in the movie and in interviews when discussing super hero or B piccolo is comparing himself and the gammas the goku and vegeta from the Moro arc. At the end of the day we need to see them all interact with each other to see where everyone actually stands. I personally think it’s TUI goku > UE VEGETA >= beast Gohan > orange piccolo

  • As much as I like Gohan is now finally getting the respect he deserves, he shouldn’t be this strong . Just in the span of a few hours he came from top power to mui and ue level. You could say this is the same for broly, but that’s cause he’s the legendary super Saiyan . I get Gohan’s potential, but don’t make him that broken

  • Beast Gohan and Orange Piccolo is really strong I agree. But the fact that it could be stronger than MUI is insulting. Goku has dedicated all his life to getting stronger and had to undergo impossible trials to arrive at the state even gods of destruction had not achieved. Wtf did gohan do to get such power? Literally twiddle his thumbs studying and not giving a damn about getting stronger unless the earth was in danger. If orange Piccolo is that strong its more digestible since he also always wanted to get stronger. But Gohan? He doesn’t deserve such power

  • R.I.P Toriyama… one of the last consistent and older generation Mangaka who genuinely enjoyed creating more and more content of his very very long going series. Reading these messages about him being excited, glad and appreciative on feedback and his own work itself made me tear up. This guy enjoyed his prime work and would’ve probably just kept going with it for a long time. I hope he gave Toyotaro a brief blueprint on how he wishes Dragonball to continue AND end one day.

  • But Carthu, the issue with the entire Granola Arc point, is that Freiza is in that universe too. Meaning Freiza one shotting them MAY not actually mean that he’s several times stronger than all of them – or even stronger than Gas. Not being in a form doesn’t cause an ommission, otherwise Granola and Gas wouldn’t have surpassed Goku and Vegeta (unless they were in those forms as they made the wishes). It’d be WILDLY convenient if Freiza simply didnt have that power/form when Gas made his wish, THEN gained the power minutes after. It’d honestly just be bad writing at that point

  • One thing to also consider Is that the Androids are usually built on Overkill mode. Gero had only data up to the Saiyan saga, but created Androids strong enough to wipe the floor with characters from 2 sagas after and with intense training In preparation. It’s not farfetched to believe Hedo would make something similar.

  • So… with Broly training with Goku and Vegeta and the fact that Broly is a legendary super saiyan. With that in mind remember that legendary super saiyans power is fueled by rage. Now enters Gohan, throughout the series it’s been heavily implied that Gohan is docile because of his earthling side. So what if Gohan is the first legendary super saiyan of the halflings?

  • no one surpasses goku and vegeta, stop it with this bs. Gohan read books for the last 10 years and Goku and Vegeta were fighting literal gods and training. This is all nonsense. Its lazy writing to allow other characters to catch up because they were neglected for so long. Its plot armour. None of it makes sense. Beast Gohan is dope, sure. But nah. Goku or Vegeta should in theory be able to wipe out Cell Max just by looking at him.

  • The way I normally logic this out is narratively – does it narratively make sense for Gohan to already be at the level to take out Black Frieza reliably? No, after what they did with Black Frieza – having him pop in to dominate and leave – he’s clearly intended to be a major threat going forward, maybe the work of an entire arc to defeat. It makes much more sense narratively if Beast Gohan and Orange Piccolo powerups are intended to bring Gohan and Piccolo up to the power scale to participate in future arcs. Possibly a scooch over Goku and Vegeta, but not so much as to make a battle between them one-sided.

  • I could swear that within the first couple of Dragon Ball Z Sagas that Akira made it clear that Gohan being a hybrid from Goku and Chi Chi that he was basically a Mule and stronger. The series was intended to push Goku aside and make Gohan the highest point of interest, BUT!!! But, the fan’s demands for Goku’s return and the products sold for Goku vs Gohan’s products made Akira rethink where he was taking the story based on chairmen’s demand’s of high Goku selling merch. I can’t quote a source but I swear I read an interview with Akira that he made changes to his story because of corporate pressure and fan’s demands. Akira Toriyama’s Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero was basically like a story meant to redact what he has made cannon in the past; in order, to tell where he originally meant for the story to go as Gohan as the main focus, and leaving Goku as a mentor passing on the reigns. I think he meant the story to be about the natural selection and cross potentials of half bread Saiyans. Goku’s human raised lessons raised his character stronger, faster learning, and also not limited to what his “told” limits are. And Gohan was meant to take that concept to the next level. Making the impossible, possible; and, making Gohan’s half Saiyan genetics seem as a weakness. Ultimately this actually being an underestimated strength that naturally surpasses his father naturally by making a new species of being that takes the strongest traits of both his genetic backgrounds. And Goku’s other children may just have weaker recessive genes; whereas, Gohan just won the genetic lottery.

  • I have the feeling that when they say “rivalling” they really mean their overall skill and abilities AND intelligence. Krillin is certainly nowhere near the level of the top three Saiyans, but if a fight comes down to having wits and intelligence he’s STILL right up there in the fight. Physically and ki power-wise he falls short. but like Piccolo he has creative ways to stay in the fight. that’s what I assume they mean by using “rival.” Unless they talk specifically about Gohan. Gohan has been said to be the ONLY one with a near infinite well of energy and power. it is this very, VERY deep well of energy that pushed him to turn SSJ2 in the first place. And he always seems to always have more. So personally I feel like HE is the most powerful fighter in the universe (without including fusions).

  • It’s said in the movie as well that the gammas are only able to rival goku and vegeta in SSGSS, thus not having any info on the tournament of power, so it’s safe to assume with all that plus even some promos when the movie came out saying that yea gohan and piccolo can now go toe to toe with the goku and vegeta implying theyre higher transformations

  • im quite certain toriyama only made these statements about gohan and piccolo being so strong because the anime went ahead and made their own plot and he was forced to agree with it to avoid the manga and anime becoming too different. its absolutely ridiculous how gohan and piccolo have essentially risen to the heights of goku and vegeta through very little effort

  • I dont want to say something stupid since i’ve not seen the movie yet, but if i remember correctly the last fight goku and vegeta had in their strongest forms on earth was in resurrection f (or the broly movie if you consider it canon to super hero), and since they couldnt get data from other timelines/universes (as proven by android 17 and 18 not knowing about super sayian in the android saga because the transfomation happened on another planet) the data used for the gammas was, at best, ssb goku and ssb vegeta (broly movie), and, at worst, ssb goku and vegeta (resurrection f). this is also not considering that the drones used for collecting data (i think they used drones for the data but im not sure) look extremely fragile they could have had easily got accidentally destroyed during a fight so they might not even have complete data. we also need to consider the possibilty of the thecnology not even being advanced enought to make androids on the level of the gods so they would be weaker than goku and vegeta from when the data was taken. we also also need to consider that goku and vegeta probably trained with beerus and whis after the broly movie so they are even stronger than they were before so even if we dont consider the last three things beast gohan would still get DESTROYED in a 1v1 against goku or vegeta. also there is no way they got data from goku and vegeta while they were holding back since (like the scouters from the frieza saga) the only way to get data is through 1.

  • I think the whole point of beast gohan is to bring back the idea that gohan is the strongest person in the universe. Frankly, the end of the granolah arc could be what ties in this movie to the manga in saying that gohan is the strongest and that he has awoken his true power once again. I may be spouting nonsense because I don’t truly know the ins and outs as I don’t keep up with much info but that’s my current head canon

  • One addendum I would make to this is from the SuperHero movie. I would not say Ultimate Gohan is on par with Goku or Vegeta, just because Gamma 1 is supposed to be. And when Gohan asks him how much he has left in the tank, Gamma responds he still has a healthy 82% remaining. And Gohan is kinda baffled by that. You could take that to mean he’s surprised an Android can be that strong, but the way I take it and his difficulty powering up vs Cell Max is that he’s getting kinda gassed. Part of battle power calcs should be longevity.

  • As someone else who mentioned about Black Frieza: The title of that manga was also The strongest in the universe arrives (or something like that) As for Jiren: We’re 2 arcs and 2 movies apart: people talk like he would be the same guy. He is still the guy that a GoD cannot defeat, a guy that took everyone to bring down including a 2 man suicide squad move. A man that almost defeated MuI and even defeated it momentarily until he did something to Goku’s friend/hacks. We dont know where he is at and if his evil doer will come back. But i feel he will still have a role. DBS still has a lot of go thru imo.

  • Manga and anime can’t be equated in terms of power scaling, because the anime follows Toriyama’s version. All characters in the Super Hero movie have power levels based on the Broly arc, so it’s safe to say that characters like Piccolo in his orange form and Gamma are equivalent to Super Saiyan Blue, given the reference to Ultimate Gohan.

  • The way I understand things, Broly isn’t currently stronger than Goku or Vegeta in the Granolah arc, but would be able to surpass them in a fight if he lost control and started exponentially growing in power again. This way, them saying that Goku and Vegeta are stronger than Broly and also that Piccolo is on their level even though Cell Max would lose to Broly can make sense: Goku and Vegeta are currently stronger than Broly was in the movie, but if Broly FOUGHT Cell Max and went all out, his growth in power would be enough to beat him before Cell Max could do him in.

  • the power scalings in the DB universe has always been a joke. When you have God energy and fight gods, I just don’t see how you can ever lose without nerfing what should be unstoppable which is just whatever the writers are told to do. Still, I am glad Gohan and Piccolo got some love this time around since that’s been long overdue

  • We can think of things in the sense of how DB has done things until now. Goku is the strongest with Vegeta being a close second, passing him sometimes when not important. Gohan is always the strongest in pure power, but he lacks everything else needed to be a real contender for GOAT, including technique to utilize said power and capability in consistently bringing out his power. Broly is effectively on pause until they want to bring him back out, at which point he’ll get even angrier and rejoin the race with the same instant spurt followed by pause. Frieza Black is insurmountably strong, the same way every villain of the week is always insurmountably strong. He’s the strongest the same way he was in the Namek arc: Yes as long as you consider it to be relevant to state he was the strongest until the end.

  • What everyone forgets is that every transformation Gohan had was super strong and Gohans fighting ability grew with it! Gohan is a genius and educated plus powerful meaning he knows how to power up and do it right making him the most powerful fighter! Goku needs to become smarter but hes only smart when it comes to fighting

  • bear in mind, broly has hardly done any proper training. he’s been on beerus’ planet not nearly as long as goku and vegeta, and being a saiyan, he has tons of room to grow. same can be said for beerus. i’m the granolah arc, he said that because of his mindset, he has infinite potential for growth. on top of that, he’s never actually gone all out before (except against the other Destroyer Gods in the manga), so it’s not accurate to say that either Beerus or Broly are anywhere near their peak.

  • I haven’t watched this article yet so heres my input on it. Cell Max was the “Strongest” being at the time. However this is Strongest compared to those who were around. We did not see him fight Broly, Goku, Vegeta, Frieza, or Beerus. We can’t gauge his power based on those few. Meaning we also cannot gauge Beast Gohans power off of any of them until we see some sort of comparison between them. I think at BEST the most we can say about Beast Gohan is he would be on Par with Vegeta’s Super Saiyan Blue Evolution. Now he could be stronger than this. But remember, before the “Beast” Transformation Gohan was less than a Standard SSJB as Goku went Blue and still had to hold back against Gohan. Now if we get some sort of comparison with a fight between any of them and Beast Gohan in some sort of Canon medium then yeah we can gauge it from there. But as of right now all We can tell is Beast Gohan is stronger than Cell Max (Although all we have to go off of with that was a few well landed blows and a Special Beam Cannon while he was restrained which doesn’t really prove much as Piccolo was weaker than Raditz when that worked on him.) So at most we can say Gohan is stronger than Cell Max, and is the strongest on Earth in that time period. We cant compare him to the other heavy hitters of U7 without some input from another source. And probably Whis is the most unbiased one to give the input.

  • Broly may be currently weaker, especially since he has never had control of his power, we could assume than that he has never been able to hone said power because he wasn’t able to learn from his battles or utilize stronger techniques, plus he hasn’t started learning to use God ki yet so it could just be a matter of time before broly surpasses the z warriors again, but that would require them writing character arcs for anyone that wasn’t on namek

  • Basically, from a real world perspective, Beast Gohan is the strongest, with Cell Max at second, and everyone else behind them From a scaling perspective, Black Frieza is easily the strongest, then Gas, TUI Goku, MUE Vegeta, Beast Gohan, Cell Max, Piccolo and lastly Jiren In my opinion, I think Beast Gohan is around Gas’s level, because of all the statements of Gohan’s potential being beyond everyone by Goku, Vegeta and others, and Beast being his maximum potential unlocked

  • In my opinion, I COMPLETELY refuse comparing 2 mighty warriors have the KI of the GODS to a normal little boy just screemed with a red line behind him + we don’t know the full power of Gogeta blue yet cuz tge battle between him and Broly looks like there was a big gap between them Gogeta didn’t even Sweat and was always smiling not like his fight against hearts in SDBH (I don’t say this is canon but I mean thay gave us a hint about Gogeta’s similar character to Goku he becomes serious in the hard fights)

  • The clear answer is that everyone misread toriyama’s tweet and now everyone thinks piccolo is equal to MUI and UE and beast is levels beyond them. MUI and UE Goku and Vegeta are leagues beyond piccolo and gohan and its not even close. Gohan is arguably the most overrated character in dragon ball but toriyama meant that piccolo was equal to ssb goku and Vegeta because he assumed people would know he means those forms as in the anime goku has not officially shown he can use UI at will yet. Its only shown in the manga so ssb would still be goku and vegetas go to form in a battle in terms kf the anime. But if people did their research they would find out the MUI Goku and Vegeta are still so much stronger than the characters in super hero mainly cell, gohan, and piccolo. Instead of making an argument in favor of gohan, appreciate that i did the research and you didn’t

  • Logically, the strongest in the universe being prophesied is Gohan. That’s been ENDLESSLY stated to be true from the very beginning of Z. That Gohan is stronger than everyone else. That he has more potential than everyone else. That Goku thinks Gohan is stronger than him, will eventually surpass him completely in every way. While Toriyama certainly doesn’t have to honor that, it would be absurd if, after an entire two-thirds of the series reinforcing it, Gohan’s endlessly stated place in the canon was written off. As for Broly’s place in it, I think what Toriyama is implying is that Broly has no training. He knows no martial arts. And when he powers up, he has no control. That’s why there’s a comparison between him and Cell Max. If Broly trained and gained some measure of control, we’d likely see his power ramp up in a way not dissimilar to Freiza.

  • watsonian arguments for powerscaling don’t really work consistently for a franchise that executes it so inconsistently. i think it’s important to take into account not the literal facts of whether or not certain characters have seen or can sense this or that, but rather focus on what the writers want us to take away from statements like “on par with (x) or (y)” (because there is not much point in writing such things otherwise). with all that said, i agree with the ultimate conclusion of the article and think it’s pretty clear that gohan beast (and black frieza) was intended to be the strongest amongst all of them – at least for now.

  • the broly argument is a little weird. tori’s saying he was activated early else he could beat broly. but the big thing is, cell was already completed body-wise as per the movie, the only thing specified to be incomplete is his mind control which was the part that was disrupted. so actually tori’s only referring to the idea that a complete cell max could theoretically be controlled to beat broly, but in this mind state he can’t be controlled to do so. his power remains the same.

  • In super superhero movie vegeta clear as day says I’ll obtain instinct in my own way meaning holy can definitely turn UI at will also beerus sees the way vegeta is moving and at that moment he’s probably thinking vegeta shall take a different path meaning Ego and the look beerus made was a look of putting vegeta under his wing and training him

  • I think Gogeta would be stronger IF he could access the same powers beyond Blue, the problem is using anything beyond that would probably drain his fusion time incredibly fast. So if Gogeta could keep something like UI or Ego active without a fusion limit, then I see him mopping the floor with Beast Gohan. Otherwise, I think it’s a close call.

  • I won’t say this is the “definitive” ranking, but basing this off of both the anime (movies included) / manga continuities, I believe it goes like this: ( This also includes LIVING characters, so Granolah, Moro, etc. doesn’t apply here, as well as any characters which new strength feats are speculated, such as jiren. ) ☝Freeza ( Three years before Chapter 103, or the Granolah arc, Frieza trains in an ambiguous ROSAT on a planet he conquered for ten years. This gives Frieza the strength to effortlessly take out Gas whose strength surpassed anything he’s had before, as well as an Ultra Instinct ‘Sign’ Goku and Ultra Ego Vegeta in one hit.🤯) ✌ Son Gohan ( While Gohan may still be less experienced than Goku, the strength required to knock Goku out of Ultra Instinct in one hit while he’s on guard is an insane feat. This feat is even greater when you realize that in order to land this blow in the first place, Gohan had to out-speed Goku in his Ultra Instinct State.👀) 👌 Son Goku ( Gohan may be stronger than Goku, but Goku’s strength is still up there a little behind Gohan with him knocking him back many times throughout the fight, as well as the many speed feats presented even after Gohan powers up during the battle. 💪 ) 4. Bejita ( Vegeta may not have shown everything he has to offer against the stars of Chapter 103, being Goku and Gohan, he still shows his dominance against this even stronger Broly. Taking a direct blow to the forehead by Broly in his base state with no major damage done, as well as overwhelming Broly in a Super Saiyan State.

  • Do we know if we’re getting the “Moro” and “granola” arcs in the anime? They just announced this weird new chibi dragon ball that nobody asked for, which suggests to me that they’re going to put all of their focus on that, and not release any more DBS. Super hasn’t had a new anime arc in a while. You’d think if they were going to make the other two arcs into the show, they’d have produced something by now, right?

  • All i know is they missed out on a serious fan service with the super hero movie. I dont quite understand why they had cell die in his imperfect form. What wouldve made more sense (to me) would be for gohan(mystic) and orange piccolo to defeat imperfect cell max for him to regenerate into perfect cell max. Then perfect cell hits piccolo with a death beam (like trunks in cell games) and boom a more meaningful powerup into beast that actually makes sense

  • Goku: Almost dies by his own spirit bomb (despite the spirit bomb not being able to hurt people with a pure heart) to unlock Ultra Instinct Omen Vegeta: forgets all of his inhibitions and embraces the awful things he did in the past in order to redeem himself with Ultra Ego Freeza: Trains outside of the universe secretly and exploits his privaledged biology to entirely reform his own body in a stronger state Piccolo: Fully utilizes the latent power Kami left over for him within his own body by taking on the power of Shenron Gohan: Gets really mad at an android he never met dying TWICE

  • Honestly I just feel its bull that some kid was capable of creating androids at the same level as Gods, I mean come on. I could get it if they used the Dragon Balls to wish them to be on that level, but you seriously can’t expect me to believe they can build Androids from earthly metals and components in less then a few months, who can withstand and dish out attacks on the scale of universe destroying power.

  • goku: 119 trillion gohan: 104 trillion piccolo: 1.5 quadrillion vegeta: 120 trillion —————————————– goku ssb: 128 quintillion gohan mystic: 112 quintillion piccolo mystic: 1.5 sextrillion vegeta ssb: 129 quintillion ————————————————- vegeta ssbe: 18.7 sextrillion goku UIO: 18 sextrillion gohan mystic FP : 2.6 sextrillion semi piccolo orange: 2.25 septrillion ————————————————– goku MUI: 18.7 septrillion gohan beast: 17.5 septrillion piccolo orange form: 9.5 septrillion vegeta UE: 20.5 septrillion ————————————————– cell max: 10.5 septrillion —————————————————- goku TUI: 24.5 septrillion frieza black: 25 septrillion full power beast gohan: 29 septrillion full power ultra ego vegeta: 22.5 septrillion

  • Based on the color scheme they have going (with both hair and aura), I think you’re right that Gohan isn’t as strong as UI Goku or UE Vegeta currently. BUT! I think we’ll see Beast end up being a combination of Angel and God energies. Not outright as autonomously defensive as UI, but more than UE, and also not as strong as UE, but stronger in outright power than UI. The only thing is going to be “How hard does Gohan train at this?” If he keeps at it and really learns to master it, especially if my conspiracy theory is right, then we will end up seeing Gohan surpass both Goku and Vegeta at some point. As far as what has been currently shown to that point though, I think I would have to agree with you.

  • Just as Oracle Fish prediction about the strongest being on the universe is not confirmed, there’s no confirmation that the timeline in the movie is directly correlated to the manga. As it is now, the manga has its own original story on top of adding the movie content after they’re released. So there’s no direct comparison with Black Frieza or Gas that didn’t actually happened yet in animated format. In fact, even Vegeta nopes the thought of sparring with Broly, implying Broly’s still stronger than Vegeta at that point (Ultra Ego isn’t even confirmed for the animation version).

  • re: Goku remembering his “Saiyan Pride,” I think Gohan’s lack of Saiyan Pride is going to be the limiter on his Beast transformation. Correct me if I’m wrong, but Gohan only ever turned into a Great Ape without really realizing, right? He’s much more human than saiyan in terms of mindset and battle.

  • I really don’t see Gohan beast beating Black Frieza or even coming anywhere close to that, he’s simply not that strong lol. The movie just made it look stupid strong but in reality Goku was too fast for Piccolo and co to even perceive after all his years of experience and training and power up till then. Literally invisible to them except Jaco, that’s just UI without any forms. They clearly had no idea of Goku and Vegeta’s true limits or extents of power, even going back all the way to blue and god not being properly sensed by them. Ain’t no way bruh. Ya’ll really think Piccolo and Gohan wouldn’t struggle with someone like Broly? Goku and Vegeta literally had to run for a bit at that time lol. Broly rampaging would be an utter disaster just like we saw, if it wasn’t for Gogeta that would have been a massacre. Even with a powerup at that stage Gohan would definitely struggle to put down Broly, and dominate in a fight against him like Gogeta did. Not unless you think you think Gohan somehow got an amp that made him go from barely Blue lvl (come on now we all know that ain’t really true) to stronger than a fricking fusion between Goku and Vegeta. Yea no, Broly is stronger than Cell Max at his best and when he’s raging. Gohan even with his ‘beast’ transformation – which should ultimately just be him finding his true self as a hybrid Saiyan-himan and unlocking his wild side that he only showed against Cell and such a few times and fusing it with his ultimate form basically. Not UI, not ultra ego, not god ki, not god ki enhanced saiyan transformation, just his max potential and his most powerful mindset and version of himself he could have that’s all – would struggle against Moro and honestly don’t see him beating some versions.

  • I just cant take this seriously its goin way to far…I feel if i was a hero in Dragon Ball and i took a special piss one day and my power grew larger than the univers itself…. Goku and Vegeta should be miles ahead… Black Frieza should be on Beerus lvl by now… Its just gettin out of hand and im losing my interest honestly………

  • I still don’t get the whole idea of the Gamma’s being on par with Goku and Vegeta. You’re telling me that 2 robots can potentially beat superhumans with godly techniques taught to them by the strongest fighters in the entire universe? 2 robots.going up against the 2 strongest fighters in the cosmos (basing this statement off of TOP and the growth since then). Also, if Gohan has so much potential, wouldn’t Goten also have similar potential? And wouldn’t he end up being a better fighter than gohan due to how similar he is to his father as shown by his love for fighting? (Edit: ok, I watched the article to its entirety and ignore the first half of my arguement, but I still say that in a decade or so Goten should be stronger than Gohan.)

  • I think the point of Broly is he isn’t ever the strongest, he’s just capable of increasing his power seemingly indefinitely. Meaning he has the potential, but he isn’t ALREADY there, or really anywhere close. Look at how quickly he was able to hang with Goku and Vegeta. He was nowhere near their level prior to meeting them.

  • As long as he’s not finished up early in the fight, I genuinely think Broly is unmatched potential wise. He can overpower literally anyone over time. This dude in his first REAL fight was literally going head to head with blue gogeta in basically his super saiyan 1 form……. Ridiculous. I think Beast Gohan could kill Broly, but he better do it quick.

  • Carthu, when it comes to power scaling I disagree with you not much tho gohan is weaker than black frieza, he even one shot gas, and even true ultra instinct wasn’t enough to beat black frieza we should all know gohan beast scales above toppo god of destruction, but black frieza would steal likely beat gohan but I’m saying is black frieza scales above beast gohan still. Edit: Love the editing and vids bro.

  • I’m stoned and got to thinking; Goku is learning UI (angel) Vegeta is learning destruction (god) Gohan has Beast (Yamoshi reincarnate)????????? Future trunks has has rage form So the rest to have a crazy transformation would be goten and young trunks (gotenks movie incoming 😉) Everyone who was part of the ssj god ritual, Everyone had to push past their limit to defeat a very personal enemy. Win or lose Maybe?
