Witch Craft Works is a shoujo romance series that follows the lead characters, with the genders reversed, allowing the series to showcase its true magic. Takemiya is the would-be heroine, as Kagari calls her princess and swears to protect him from harm. The series also uses visual cues like flowers and sparkles to suggest that Takemiya is under her protection. Kagari takes the typical male position, while Takamiya is shown under her protection. This was the fifth anime I watched when I got into anime in 2020. I saw a clip of it on Youtube and watched it on CR. I really enjoyed it. The comedy, art style, music, quirky and memorable characters (Kagari being a kuudere helps😄) really appealed to me. I recently re-watched it in Jan. 2022 and it was even better than I remembered. The comedy, especially, stood out and the character dynamics between the leads were the best part and the side characters are slightly more fun than the main characters. I enjoyed it so much I even bought the manga off Book Walker just to enjoy more of the story.
