She went viral on the internet in June 2021.
Sam is not an AI avatar but a 3D mascot created by Lightfarm in collaboration with Cheil. After a lot of R34 was spent on her character model, Samsung and Lightfarm ended any relations with her. A collection of 3D renderings and sketches of the character gained international attention after someone found them on the website of Cheil.

I love how their combat seems to be mirrored/covering for one another for the most part? At 1:08 you see them attack opposite sides (one slashing left the other right etc.) and even at the end female rover spins around to cover the back while male rover stays looking ahead that time. Which is opposite of their elemental skill where female rover stays looking ahead and he spins around to cover the back.
Genshin: picked male and still happy, since female is kinda lacking. Plus Aether was a canon MC in early development. HSR: picked female and most of the time happy with the choice, she somehow fits more to setting. Plus racoon girl is better, than racoon dude)) WuWa: I feel more towards female MC. She is sexy and elegant, compared to more bland male MC.
female MC is pretty good design wise, although I still wish they gave her a bit more drip/fashion to stand out like the other 5 stars. They did her face and hairstyle along with accessories for her really well though, up close, she looks majestic like from a celebration/high-class dining or party look.

As a girl myself, i always choose the girl mc, because i think its better for the immersion. But, with WuWa, idk what to do. Petition to get a permanent gender swapping device with Infinite uses. My idea is It’s going to be somewhere in the story in which the rover has to lay low because they are in a hostile faction’s area and they were given a device to change genders for disguise. Can be used inside and outside of story but in dialogue or cutscenes where it’s not canonically being used, effects are turned off and you see the original gender ya picked. You can fight fine with it while farming and doing other stuff. It’s a nice use of animations for both rovers.
I’m probably the only one who likes Female Rover outfit. Many people say that her outfit is not suitable for battle, but you have seen what other girls are wearing, this is a normal outfit for this game. I like a man’s clothes, but a woman’s outfit is slightly unique, while a man’s outfit is ordinary, which I have seen from many others. It’s not the first time I’ve seen FemMC’s outfits criticized. First Lumine, then Female Dreamseeker, now Female Rover. What’s wrong with their outfits. No one complains about what other girls are wearing, and how open their outfits are, but when it comes to FemMC’s outfit, discontent immediately follows.
I really like the guy’s outfit, there is something very interesting in it, despite its rather simplicity. And his idle animation is adorable! But the girl’s movements seem to be sharper, and I like it, this kind of thing is very important for me in fighting games. Also that move when she puts the katana away behind her back- 😩🤲❤️ I still can’t start playing because I’m not sure who to pick, damn

I always pick the female characters since Im also one but I’d like to pick the male one this time 😊 I like the female version bottom part of the design and the jiggle physics. But the top bothers me (exposed shoulders) like Lumine in genshin The male is very cool and I’ve always wanted to play as Caelus but I chose Stelle cause the design was cute.
These two have unique movements from each other, that’s very impressive for a gacha only released recently. Even far better than the trailblazers (almost all of their movements are the same unlike the Rovers, the female moves like she’s dancing elegantly and smooth while the Male is more aggressive). The trailblazer in Honkai Star Rail should’ve been one character and gender fluid lol
hhhh i like her face and hair more but i like his outfit. i typically play the dude but im just naturally drawn to her idk lol think im gonna go with her and hope i dont regret it in 2 days lol should’ve put the eyeliner and the white under layer of hair on the male mc too. i think just that would help a Lot lol
Honestly, while I usually go for male mcs, I actually went for fem rover because her design felt more interesting to me than male rover’s. Although I do wish they’d at least given her the jacket and styled her a little more sensibly. I don’t care if she shows skin or not, but between the open back, the sideboob windows, front boob window, and the thigh cutouts, it’s a bit hard to tell what’s actually going on with her look. And I do wish the the male rover had more visible patterning in his attire, or had hair coloring more like the fem rover’s, with the white parts of his hair being more prominent than they actually are in his design
Man, I would like to switch between both in-game because both of them look great. Just wish some people in the comments wasn’t fighting about it… Also, to the guy who keeps making people look bad just for liking the female design, keep that same energy for IRL women. Because I guarantee that if this was a real woman, you would be praising her for wearing what she wants. Also, the skin exposure is not even that bad compared to other character designs I be seeing from different games (ahem, Xenoblade Chronicles 2). I like what I like, and that doesn’t mean I’m a bad person for it.
To be honest, Male MC is so well done, his outfit is functional and has good move set, just that I’m so used to perusal this kind of MC that I got tired of it (That’s what 6 years of manga and anime can do to one) So I will go with the Female Rover, her animations are more refined, her outfit is less functional but we are on a fking fantasy world, plus she looks great for a FMC, If I make a 2nd account I’ll go with Male Rover
Having troubles choosing a main cuz the Female rover is just the most stylish one while the male rover look hot but basic… (This is just based on my preference) Male (∆) ; Female (∅) Style: ∅ Posture: ∆ Idle animation: ∆ Elemental Burst: ∅ Elemental Skill: ∅ Attack: ∅ Charge Attack: ∅ Plunge Attack: ∆ Running: ∆ Walking: ∆ Sprint: ∅ Gliding: ∆ Both in a tie! 😵💫 So the Female rover looks best for me when it comes to combat, she’s smooth and I really like the part where she puts her sword back in the shaft behind her back. She does kinda move a lot after her attacks; and her wiggling hair while gliding, she seems like she’s loosing balance, just doesn’t sit well with me. The male rover however, seems basic in style but, looks good for overworld adventures; especially with that view from behind ehe… He does kinda seem heavy when attacking, and a little less expressive. But it’s rare for me to see a male mc with that hairstyle. So… Male for adventures Female for combat But you should choose what you like best.
id personally want the designs more balanced in terms of skin showing, for the female mc the problem is mostly that her shorts look like they’ll fall off and her top doesnt look like it has enough support for all the activity she’s doing, for the guy (and skin does not equal appeal but) hes just not interesting of a design for me he just doesnt have enough embellishments imo and between the two they just dont look like they were clothed the fit the same role (his hair is cool though), id have to think about it more for what i would specifically change about his outfit but in the end i just chose the fmc she seems less boring to me somehow (infact i really like her)
Love the overall Male desing, but I hate how from the Front it looks like your Kirito Version 2000 and how the Mulet looks like part of a the Neck of the Jacket. Also why can’t he have the Red Eyeliner the Female have!!? 😭😩 I mean, when I first saw Male MC I genuinly Thought the Mullet was part of the Jacket and though it was a coold desing choice (but still hated the Hair). The I learnt that was actually his Hair which is also cool, but it doesn’t look like his hair adagdjavd (I complain, but I know I will most likely chose Male MC in spite that)
Gonna be honest i really really hope they get some skins I don’t think the designs are bad per see, but the dude could reeeeeeally use some color, he isn’t eye catching enough And while I’m all for horniness in my character designs it seems the fandom as a majority would rather gave something less skimpy for the girl, so why not give her a skin as well
Male MC, because its a Kuro game, and i just know they will have more Jiggly physics female whose body parts breath on their own. So i will get all the male characters. No, hate to the female characters, infact i want to pull for the Whote Dragon lady, but that ‘Whole body breathing on its own’ is something which is very common in most games nowadays.
bro honestly as a guy, i wish they made the female rover’s clothes more similar to the male rover. like yeah, she looks hella sexy, but i feel like the male rover’s clothes are just more fitting for a ‘main character’, and the female one’s facial features don’t really match the clothes she’s wearing.
unlike in genshin, in this one i am definitely picking the girl over the guy mc altho i am more biased towards husbandos. Dude is cool but unlike Aether he doesn’t have any cute or hot spice and looks like yet another Kirito 2.0 while playing as a cool cute kuudere kunoichi making swift acrobatics seems more appealing to me. 🙂 I can’t wait until they add skins for her. She is gorgeous and elegant enough already but for self immersion it bothers me a tiny bit the openess of her outfit, specially in environments that look chilly. I wish she could wear optionally a mini jacket like the boy MC. As a Life Makeover and Shinning Nikki player i feel the urge to dress her up so badly, she is just so cuteee 🥰
