I must admit, I started perusal this film with little in the way of expectations, imagine my surprise (and pleasure) at finding a film that drew me in, caught my attention, and had enough facets and twists to entertain me throughout. It reminds me a bit of a Dan Brown story…well acted, nicely filmed, and edited. Thank you for uploading these little gems I would likely not have discovered without your efforts.🖤🇨🇦

Enjoyed the movie, thanks for posting. So cool to learn that the Apocalypse of Paul (written 300 years after the Apostle Paul) is a real historical text. Even though most of us have never heard of it before the movie; The writing helped to shape the beliefs of Christians regarding the afterlife and the sinfulness of pride. It also describes the first vision of Paradise, including lake Acherusa.

Conceptualised by Regent’s co-head Stephen P. Jarchow and fleshed out by scripters David Bourla and Brian Irving (a Takacs regular), Nostradamus’ story is an attractive mix of odds and sods; a Terminator, Matrix, and Se7en smoothie served with a healthy dollop of millennial religious panic (think The Prophecy or Arnie’s End of Days or Dolph Lundgren’s The Minion). Silk Stalkings hunk Rob Estes toplines as Michael Nostrand: a brilliant Minneapolis detective — and, of course, a descendent of the eponymous astrologer and oracle — who falls afoul of a murderous cult of monks that are planning to bring about Armageddon. Time travel, Satanism, and spontaneous combustion also feature — but, in addition to Takacs’ apathetic stewardship, such a potentially glorious stockpile of imagination is further neutered by crass exposition, ear-stinging dialogue, and horrific, fancy dress costuming. Still, the latter at least affords Nostradamus a dose of unintentional hilarity. The Lego man hair and stick-on goatee that Estes is saddled with in the film’s closing moments sure kept me laughing deep into the credits.

I liked the meaning of this story. Spirituality teaches us 2 decide good or evil. Well this shows us why. Do u want peace or 2 b tormented for ur soul in this life or return back 2 source. 🇬🇧 Yes i agree with other comments, Id passed over this film lots of times, thinking it would be rubbish but i too was very pleasantly surprised It was well done, not over labouring the loads of Quatrains Of Nostrodamus’s real prophesies Which would have made this film Overbearing! It had a nice little frisson going between Michael the cop & the Psychic FBI agent. Theres nothing id change except maybe the medieval assassins who travel to our time, id make them less Neanderthal & more slick & handsomely evil. Just my POV Well worth anyones viewing Doesn’t require too much thinking about but its well acted Fun & based on an historical character & besides the hero is pretty cute & the witchy FBI gal is convincing & not dripping in lip gloss & 2 inch deep make up! Id give it a credible 9 out of 10 Peace 🇬🇧👧 PS didnt care for the geek hair style & goatee of the newly returned Nostrodamus at the end! Lol.

Disappointing. I’m baffled at comments calling this flick, “excellent,” “brilliant,” and “good.” Those commenters must have very low expectations and not much experience. Haha!🤣I work in the film industry, so I’ll give this production some wiggle room on the low budget FX and even the mediocre storyline. Actually, I could go on & on. The acting was stale, with a couple exceptions. Here’s a tip: Even in fiction, there should be some sense of believability, esp in the performances. Thing is, I like these actors and they’ve done better work (this film released in 2000). But, this movie was a flop. Still, I usually give filmmakers and actors cheers for trying. 🙂👍

Nostradamus should a sued someone for the use of his name on this one; How to not try to write science fiction about interesting facets of the Sixteenth century and a bunch of cops who think they need a psychic to magically disappear … better to watch reruns of The Time Machine. Medieval cult? 1536 was in the late Renaissance and edging towards the Baroque era. Nobody in the medieval era would embrace such idiotic ideas. You needed to be at the beginning of the Modern era for such insanity. The medievals also didn’t believe in ghosts haunting the earth, which is contrary to Christian dictrine, or in the power of witches or sorcery. Once again these started in the Renaissance and took flight after the Reformation and rhe Modern era began, with a lot of Jewish influence. But what do you expect from the drug addled sex perverts of Hollyweird who think the 1950’s were the Dark Ages. Combine a weak high school education with enormous egos, drugs, alcohol, cheap sex and way too much loose cash, often from drug deals, plus nihilistic neo-Communist politics and you don’t find much informed or coherant thought.

Prior to Covid in 2020, I would have dismissed this as sci-fi nonsense, but now post Covid in 2023, I take the content and historical references of these films very seriously indeed – we know that Nostradamus and many other seers and mystics made a lot of predictions during their lifetimes which have consistently turned out to be correct and accurate centuries after their passing – in the 21st century, despite all of our technological and scientific knowledge, at the same time we are cut off from the kind of knowledge that people in the medieval era were very familiar with, which had links to even earlier points in history, back to the Egyptians and the Celtic peoples
