Did Netflix remove Good Omens?

Over 20, 000 Christians have signed a petition urging Netflix to cancel the fantasy series “Good Omens”, which is adapted from Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman’s 1990 satirical sci-fi novel. The Return to Order campaign, a Christian organization under the U. S. Foundation for a Christian Civilization, argues that the show attempts to make satanism appear normal and light, making light of Truth, Error, Good and Evil and destroying the barriers of horror society still has for the devil.

The six-part series follows Crowley, a demon played by David Tennant, and Aziraphale, an angel played by Michael Sheen, as they work together to prevent the coming of the antichrist and an imminent apocalypse. Some petition-signers criticize the show’s portrayal of God, which they claim is “voiced by a woman” (Frances McDormand), and the Antichrist, who they believe is a “normal kid”. The petitioners are confused by which streamer actually put out the series.

Is Good Omens a BBC show?

Neil Gaiman continues as executive producer and co-showrunner for the second season of Good Omens, a popular comedy series based on the internationally bestselling novel by Terry Pratchett and Gaiman. The show is produced by BBC Studios Productions, Amazon Studios, Narrativia, and The Blank Corporation. The new season is set to take place in Soho, where the characters are set to solve a mystery that begins with an angel wandering through Soho with no memory.

Executive producer Douglas Mackinnon, who will return to direct, is excited about the possibility of filming the second season in Scotland. The cast includes Michael Sheen and David Tennant as Aziraphale and Crowley, with Finnemore serving as co-writer alongside Gaiman. The show is set to return to Soho, where the characters will continue to explore the mystery surrounding the Angel and Demon.

Did Crowley and Aziraphale kiss?

Good Omens Season 2 introduces a long-awaited kiss between Aziraphale and Crowley, but it doesn’t solve all their problems. Crowley tries to express his feelings for Aziraphale, but Aziraphale chooses to return to heaven. Despite the kiss being a major milestone in their relationship, they still struggle to communicate and understand each other, leaving room for growth in Season 3.

The first season of Good Omens took viewers on a 6, 000+ year journey of Crowley and Aziraphale’s relationship, confirming their deep love. However, the relationship seemed obvious to everyone except the two characters. In Season 2, Aziraphale and Crowley finally fight on the same side, but their former opponent, Gabriel, arrives in Aziraphale’s bookshop with no clothing or memory. Aziraphale helps and hides Gabriel from both Heaven and Hell, causing the forces of Heaven and Hell to hunt for the missing archangel, threatening the “precious, peaceful, fragile” existence they have carved out for themselves.

In summary, Good Omens Season 2 introduces a long-awaited kiss between Aziraphale and Crowley, but it doesn’t solve all their problems. The relationship between the two angels continues to evolve, with the potential for growth and change in Season 3.

Why did they cancel Good Omens?

The production of the graveyard was temporarily halted by Disney due to a lack of complete viewing equivalents, although the rationale behind this decision remains opaque.

Does Good Omens have LGBT?

Does Good Omens have LGBT?

Good Omens season two is a refreshing departure from the usual LGBTQ+ show, with the cast’s support for the LGBTQ+ community. Tennant, Sheen, and Gaiman have all shown their commitment to queer characters and actors, not only in Good Omens but also in other shows like The Sandman and American Gods. This allyship is heartwarming and necessary, especially in light of JK Rowling’s hateful comments towards the trans community. Gaiman has never tried to retcon queerness into his work, unlike Rowling who admitted to thinking of Dumbledore as gay in Harry Potter books.

The show’s second season is praised for its increased queerness, and if Prime Video orders a third season, fans can expect more queerness and joy for the protagonists. Gaiman has promised to write another Good Omens novel if the show isn’t renewed, but the lesson is to avoid ending a beloved queer show on a cliffhanger before it’s confirmed for another season.

  • About the Them being nonbinary: One of my favorite jokes I’ve seen from this fandom is about a part in the book where is lists the character and it’s listed like this: “Pepper (Girl) Wendsleydale (Boy) Brian (Boy) Adam (Antichrist)” And someone joked that this listing implies that the three genders, girl, boy or antichrist 😂

  • Quick note about the group name ‘The Them’; they kept changing the name of their gang based on whatever Adam was interested in that week while the rest of the town referred to the group as ‘Them’ which is why they started using it as well. I love the weird hoops it went through in the books but from a kid’s perspective, the Them in the story, it makes sense.

  • oh, the third baby is mentioned in the book. “Greasy” Johnson is the head of a Rival gang to The Them, in Tadfield. (greasy… hmmm.,… anointed?) and his hobby is…… he breeds tropical fish. he LITERALLY MULTIPLIES FISH. the book heavily implies he might be the second coming. but down to the whole theme of the story that you are who you ARE, not what others expect of you, he’s a bully, while the actual antichrist is widely acknowledged as a bit of a troublemaker, but a really genuinely NICE boy.

  • It’s funny that you mention Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy, since that book was written by Douglas Adams and Good Omens was written by Terry Pratchett, and I have seen multiple people say that Douglas Adams and Terry Pratchett could almost be the same author except that Douglas Adams is a pessimist while Terry Pratchett is an optimist.

  • 1) yes the show is still releasing, it will end with season 3 which is being filmed in January I think 2) couldn’t help but notice your Sandman collection back there… which was written by Neil Gaiman, the co-author of the OG good omens book and writer of the show 3) If you love John Hamm you better keep reacting and get to the first episode of season two 🍑 4) yeah David Tennant is just there to serve 24/7 and absorb all the gender 5) you’ve now walked into the circle of OurGoodShadows, the new SuperWhoLock, so its only a matter of time for everyone to be screaming at you to react to What We Do In The Shadows and Our Flag Means Death lmao

  • BOOK SPOILERS – THIRD BABY I can’t remember if the show addresses it. Definitely cuts some of it. In the book, it says something along the lines of: you can imagine that the third baby was adopted by a loving family and grew up to collect tropical fish. You can imagine that… Very ominous. You later find out that the third baby is the leader of the rival kid gang in Tadfield and does collect tropical fish.

  • Good Omens has a season 2 and season 3 is announced for probably next year! Fun fact most first-time watchers of Good Omens miss is that the female voice narrating everything is God Herself. Also, Danny, welcome to the fandom with the longest slow-burn, unofficially-married pair of lovable idiots ever, I have a feeling you will immensly enjoy this show and get your heart crushed by the (current) end

  • “okay, I get it now” YOU SHOULD SEE JUST HOW MANY SHOWS SEEM TO FALL UNDER THE SAME FANDOM. doctor who, good omens, ofmd, hannibal, sherlock, ghosts and gosh the list just goes on! Anyway, amazing article I love how you reacted to my favourite characters in the whole wide world (I find DT ruthlessly sexy too)

  • All you need to know about Good Omens is that it’s written by Neil Gaiman, therefore it’s gonna be a banger Edit: and Terry Pratchett, I didn’t included him originally because I’m not familiar with his work while I’m an active fan of Neil Gaiman’s writing. Hate the guy, but he wrote some damn good comics.

  • Yeah, Good omens has that quirky british humor, if only because the co author of this book was Sir Terry pratchett, the writer of Discworld. He ALWAYS does this type of humor. Unforutnyl, he passed away before the show was made, but Neil Gaiman was heavily involved in production and he made sure it was incredibly faithful to the book, if at least in honor of Sir Terry’s memory

  • Since Danny asked, in the book the third baby was sent to foster care as an orphan and was adopted by another normal family in the same town Adam lives in, just in a different class at school. He’s just a happy kid with loving parents and grows up to win prizes for the tropical fish he raises lol. That kid got a much easier life than the other two.

  • Fun fact: the book doesn’t spend more than a few sentences on the spare 3rd child either, but there’s is a kid with a rival gang that Adam and his gang fight sometimes (off screen) and that kid is named Greasy Johnson. I can’t remember if it was outright confirmed or not that he was the 3rd baby (adopted, also off screen) or just hinted at, but I do remember that there was a fan theory long before the TV-show was made that Greasy Johnson was a reference to Jesus.

  • Love how quickly you were able to pick up on why this was a natural progression from Hazbin/Helluva Boss/etc. 🤣 Excited to see reactions to the rest of the show! S1 can get a bit slow for me sometimes, just because I don’t care so much about some of the side plots, but I agree that David Tennant is incredible as Crowley

  • based on the novel by Sir Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman. fun fact: Neil Gaiman made sure this was made as Sir Pratchett’s last wish (he was dying from Early Onset Alshimerzs). Pratchett said he never believed any of his novels were made into shows until he was sitting perusal it while eating popcorn. He did not make it, but during the theatrical premire of the first episode they saved a seat for him, complete with his hat, his scarf, and a thing of popcorn.

  • 7:10 Honestly, I believe that the show is a bit easier to swallow than the book. It’s so so weird, the book but I think the visuals help the show make it feel a bit less weird. This is honestly one of my favorite shows!! Hope you continue to reach to it on the website but happy you’d watch it even without.

  • THIS IS NOT A DRILL, DANNY IS REACTING TO GOOD OMENS! THIS IS NOT A DRILL! Okay but in all seriousness, Good Omens is such a charming television show. It’s got loads of quirkiness, but also a lot of heart. I definitely recommend reading the book the tv show is based on, as there’s some great content in there that got cut for time reasons that is absolutely hilarious (Funnily enough, the third baby in the swap is actually addressed pretty thoroughly) and overall it’s just a really fun romp.

  • ‘Is it still coming out?’ Funny enough, yes actually! There is a season 3 in production/down the line somewhere. When’s it coming? No clue, but it is confirmed to happen. So the book actually does reveal the fate of the 3rd baby(ended up with a different family), but in the show it’s implied the nuns, disposed of the baby.

  • This was originally a best selling book written by two of the greatest writers ever, Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman, Pratchett sadly passed away and he told Gaiman to finish the show for him, hope you like the show, some of the most witty writing you will ever find 🙂 love your content dude, have a good one

  • After you finish Good Omens, I would highly recommend Hannibal (nbc tv series). Hannibal is probably one of the best shows made in the past 15 years imo. Good story (only time I can say I enjoy a show/movie over the original book(s).) Compelling characters, fun plots, emotional scenes and it is art, plain and simple. Plus, the food looks amazing. I could best call it a dark gothic romcom cooking show disguised as a gritty psychological police procedural. Can’t recommend it enough, not too long either, Hannibal is probably the show I could recommend the most. (The leads alone are enough to watch it, I promise) (Hope at least someone considers giving it a watch)

  • 9:39 I believe the statue is inspired by the famous sculpture of Laocoön and His Sons. The pose of the man and the snake is slightly different, and his sons are missing from the composition, tho. It might have some extra meaning to add to the scene, but whatever it is, it eludes me. I could be wrong, tho! Someone else in the comments let me know if I am. I’m always willing to learn more!

  • 21:56 people are gonna start spamming your comments with our flag means death and what we do in the shadows lol. I was pleasantly surprised to see a new good omens react in my feed. It’s absolutely one of my favorite things and my gateway into reactions in the first place cause I wanted so badly to see other people experiencing the show for the first time. If you like tennant and sheen together, they did a COVID era show called Staged, which is amazing. They play themselves hanging out on zoom calls, it’s great. Not sure if it’s a reaction type show considering how low key or is, so maybe that’s just a personal recommendation. 🙂

  • Im so glad you finally reacted to this!! I really love the series and Id love to see your takes!! I also really love the chemistry between Aziraphale and Crowley and I think youll love perusal this more the more you watch Minor spoiler for finally: 17:15 I laughed audibly when I heard this since, even though its not the main focus in the ending sequence, it does kinda happen? A lot of people I’ve talked to that watched the show didn’t even really register that it happened lol

  • in the book you meet the 3th kid. He is adopted and winning medals with his aquaria fish. Just as God said might happen to him. 20:20 yes you are right. This show is overwhelmingly typical British humor. Something not all American reviver i have seen has been able to cope with / understand. The cheep weird CGI is intentionally I hope you will watch the whole thing and without spoiling anything i THINK you might like season 2 even more than season 1

  • 0:30 I don’t know how to tell you this Danny, so I’m just gonna come straight out with it. That list you just gave, and the shows you’ve been doing recently, are the exact reason why people look to you to react to shows with Gay or LGBT seeming main characters and not be a total weirdo one way or another about it. You are the Designated Ally Reactor.

  • Haha the algorithm brought me here via my love of Good Omens but I can already tell I’ll love the way you react to this show just as much as you’ll love the show itself. You realising why your subscribers recommended this by listing the previous shows you’ve reacted to has me pretty confident in that statement too!

  • You might have seen Micheal in movies and not recognize him he was in all Twilights as Aro, one of three, in Underworld as Lucien the leader of the werewolves . He has had many roles other in movies like The Crown and Kingdom of Heaven (which has one of the most awesome Trebuchet scenes ever done . He has been in so many tv shows as well and of course voice acted through the yrs. I’m a geek ppl I know it 😂😂😂

  • So you’ve watched episode one of six for season 1, which is based on a book published in 1990. Season 2 bridges that and the third season which is in the works, and the third season is based on the not completed sequel to the book. It will be the final season. So probably a total of 18 episodes: 6,6,6
