What Does Astrology’S Planet Conjunction Mean?

Planet conjunction in astrology is the phenomenon where two or more planets align at a particular degree in a zodiac sign, creating a potent blend of energies that can either harmonize or bring intensity. The planets’ energies are blended, and the closer they are to the conjunction, the more powerful it is.

When two or more planets are within 0° of each other on the zodiac wheel, they form a conjunction, and their energy is blended in unison. This can create a perfect alliance or bring intensity. Soft aspects represent talents and opportunities that are easy to seize, but how a certain aspect manifests depends on many factors.

Conjunctions occur when two or more planets appear very close to each other in the sky, usually in the same zodiac sign. In the most basic terms, planetary conjunction occurs when two or more planets occupy the same house. Some astrologers argue that you can have from 0-10° between the planets for them to count as a conjunction. Many astrologers use a “wide orb” or 10 degrees.

In astrology, an aspect is an angle that planets make to each other in the horoscope, as well as to the Ascendant, Midheaven, Descendant, Lower Midheaven, and other planetary houses. In summary, planet conjunctions are powerful astrological events that can create a potent blend of energies, which can either harmonize or bring intensity.

What are the rules of conjunction of planets?

In astronomy, a conjunction refers to the meeting or passing of two or more celestial bodies. The Moon is in conjunction with the Sun during the New Moon phase when it moves between Earth and the Sun, with the dark side facing Earth. Inferior planets, such as Venus and Mercury, have two types of conjunctions with the Sun: inferior, where the planet passes between Earth and the Sun, and transit, where it passes exactly between them.

Superior, where Earth and the other planet are on opposite sides of the Sun, but all three bodies are in a straight line, can only have superior conjunctions with the Sun. These conjunctions are of great importance in astrology.

How rare is a planetary alignment?

Planetary alignments have historically held significant significance for various civilizations, with ancient cultures often relating these celestial events to prophecies, omens, or significant earthly occurrences. One of the most awaited alignments is expected to occur in the 2040s, featuring Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, and Saturn, all visible within a small segment of the sky next to a thin crescent Moon.

The Mayans, for example, were keen astronomers who meticulously tracked the movements of the planets and their calendar system intricately interwoved planetary cycles. These alignments were deemed powerful enough to influence terrestrial events, warranting careful observation and record-keeping.

The text emphasizes the importance of using conjunctions like “and” instead of “or” or “nor” or “either” to change mood and state of mind. By replacing “or” with “and”, we can unite and accept our fears and anxiety, allowing us to live our lives in spite of them. Embracing the “and” also allows us to disagree without being disagreeable, and that disagreement doesn’t render the other person morally bankrupt or undeserving of respect. This allows us to be friends with them and share experiences like family dinners or Thanksgivings.

What does a conjunction mean in astrology?

The birth chart consists of five major aspects: conjunctions, sextiles, squares, trines, and oppositions. These aspects are based on the alignment of planets in the sky, with the planets usually in the same sign. The conjunctions involve the planets merging their energies, amplifying the themes associated with both planets. The sextile aspect involves the planets being 60 degrees apart, flowing smoothly and in complementary elements. The square aspect involves the planets being 90 degrees apart, creating a challenging aspect due to potential clashes between signs under the same modality.

The trine aspect involves the planets being 120 degrees apart, creating a harmonious and easy energy. Grand trines are formed when three or more planets form an equilateral triangle in the chart. Oppositions occur when planets are opposite each other, six signs or 180 degrees apart, sharing a modality and in opposing elements. These aspects offer opportunities for balance and growth, but they can also be challenging.

Aspects are essentially relationships between particular planets, with some expressing tension, providing growth opportunities, and others offering ease and complementing energy. Each aspect is unique within each person’s birth chart and influences the energy of the day.

What does it mean when planets are in conjunction?

Astronomy refers to the observation of two objects, such as asteroids, moons, planets, and stars, appearing close together in the sky. There are two systems used to define where an object appears in the sky: the celestial coordinate system of right ascension and declination, which aligns with Earth’s tilt, and the ecliptic coordinate system, which measures the orientation of the Solar System within the galaxy. If two objects have the same right ascension or ecliptic longitude, they are considered in conjunction.

Which planet conjunction is good?

Great conjunctions occur every 20 years when Jupiter overtakes Saturn in its orbit, making them the rarest of the conjunctions between naked-eye planets. The spacing between the planets varies, with most events being 0. 5 to 1. 3 degrees (30 to 78 arcminutes, or 1 to 2. 5 times the width of a full moon). Very close conjunctions occur less frequently, with separations of less than 10 arcminutes only happening four times since 1200, most recently in 2020.

Great conjunctions have attracted significant attention as omens in the past, with topics discussed by pre-scientific and transitional astronomer-astrologers, scholastic thinkers, and authors such as Dante, Lope de Vega, and Shakespeare. This interest in conjunctions can be traced back to translations of Arabic texts, particularly Albumasar’s book on conjunctions. • What a deep, scientific and meaningful astrological analysis of 29th 30th March, 2025 when there will be conjunction of Six planets in pisces opp. to Ketu Dev in Virgo. Your discussions on Karmic and Spuritual impact has touched our hearts and fill it with gratitude. Thank you so much. Om Namah Shivay.

  • Madam my Lagna is Tula, undergoing Ketu Dasha. Ketu is in my 5th cusp in constellation of Jupiter and Jupiter in 2nd cusp in constellation of Ketu. My lagna lord Venus is in 12th house Virgo but in 11th cusp. Just around 29th March 2025 my Ketu Dasha will end. Although Ketu is in Virgo my 12th house it is now in my 11th cusp. The 6 planets conjunction is happening in my 5th cusp and 6th house. My moon sign is Aquarius and presently running 2nd phase of Sadesati, on 29th March 2025 my last phase of Sadesati will begin. I am single and melancholic, I love loneliness. At the age of 65 my Venus Dasha will start around 29th March 2025. They say Venus is benefic planet, Shubha graha. So very enthusiastic about this date and time there after, probably last Dasha of my life. 🤔

  • I am a Makar Lagna with Saturn/ Moon / Rahu in Pisces ( 3rd House) Jupiter and Ketu are in Virgo ( 9th House ) . Right now I am going through my 3rd and 9th activated as Rahu and Ketu transiting Pisces and Virgo and very soon Saturn will also enter Pisces. Interestingly, I am running Moon Mahadasha with Venus Antardasa

  • Thanks Ma’am…i have a query..does iit mean for libra ascendant there is ketu in 12th and at the same time in Pisces 6 planets aspect 12th house which ultimately heavily activate 12th house for libra as at the same time Jupiter in 8th in Taurus…. please guide Ascendant wise also… thanks 🙏 again

  • It is a seventh aspect on virgo apart from a fifth aspect of jupiter on virgo and a fourth aspect of mars on virgo too. Your view of virgo at that particular date ? Should that be the seventh house of pisces ascendants, how will it affect their relationships as well as their future ? The last time of a similar convergence was on 26 Dec 2019 and it sparked the pandemic at the global front. We can’t afford another one ? Should that be, it will pose an eternal calamity. Your view please ???

  • Thank you.. very informative. Would you consider doing a article about mercury cazimi? I have Sun and Mercury at 11° Scorpio in the 10th. Although considered an inferior cazimi due to mercury being retrograde, there is a severe lack of any information of any real substance on the subject. I have a stellium in the 9th (moon, jupiter, venus, saturn) and a mars neptune conjunction on saggi ascendant so this article is greatly appreciated. Thank you!🙏

  • Hi Molly! These case studies are super interesting. You are such a great teacher! I would like to put my hat👒 in the ring and say feel free to use me as a case study. I have been told I have a very intersting chart 🤓 : February 21,1964, 6:02 a.m. Scarborough, Ontario Canada 🇨🇦 Stay safe and healthy🤗❤

  • You’re an Awesome teacher Molly🌸 I have only one question.. What’s a girl (myself) to do with a conjunction of Pluto and Uranus in Virgo? Lol.. P.S. I love following along with you’re teaching.I have learned a lot from you thank you and if you see fit Please use my chart for study… 11/24/1963 6:07am Longview Washington. Cowlitz County.. 🍃🌺🍃

  • I have natal Moon in Virgo in the 10th house too… But conjunct Jupiter. I have around 4 conjunctions on my chart and I find really hard to interpret them, specially in relation to transits… I’ve heard some people saying Jupiter makes the qualities of the other planet it’s conjuncting more prominent, othe people saying the planet that moved faster/closer to the Earth is the dominant planet on a conjunction, other people saying the planet with higher degree is the boss, other people saying Jupiter always brings positive results/more luck, more abundance… This issue is even more confusing to me when I’m looking at an stellium with a bunch of planets close to each other… I know not all astrologers agree on everything or apply the same techniques… I guess what I’m wondering the most is about how much should I interpret things by using “intuition” or by being “logical”??
