Is Jupiter A water sign?

In Vedic thought, each of the five planets is linked to an element, with space being the fifth. Everything emanated from the basic vibration of “Om” or “Aum”, which led to the five elemental vibrations representing the five different tattwas (or elements). Jupiter represents Space, Saturn represents Air, Mars represents Fire, Mercury represents Earth, and Venus represents Water. In traditional Chinese theory, matter and its developmental movement stage can be classified into the Wu Xing, with Wood ruler Jupiter, Fire ruler Mars, Earth ruler Saturn, Metal ruler Venus, and Water ruler Mercury.

However, the essence of the Wu Xing is about the notion of five stages, rather than five types of material. Ptolemy modified the rulerships of Water triplicity, making Mars the ruler of the water triplicity for both day and night charts.

What zodiac sign is Jupiter?

Jupiter, the traditional ruling planet of Sagittarius and Pisces, is exalted in Cancer and Aries. In Classical Roman mythology, Jupiter was the Sky god and guardian of the gods, symbolizing the thunderbolt. The Romans believed that Jupiter granted them supremacy due to their high honors. Jupiter personified the divine authority of Rome’s highest offices, internal organization, and external relations.

Jupiter is the king of other planets, a giant with spectacular clouds and intense storms. Astronomers believe that it plays a protective role by using its massive gravity to capture or expel comets and asteroids from the solar system. Jupiter takes 11. 9 years to orbit the Sun and spends almost an earth year (361 days) in each sign of the zodiac. It is usually the fourth-brightest object in the sky.

In astrology, Jupiter is associated with growth, expansion, adventures, healing, prosperity, good fortune, and miracles. It governs long distance and foreign travel, big business, wealth, higher education, religion, and the law. Jupiter is also associated with the urge for freedom and exploration, as well as gambling and merrymaking.

What energy is Jupiter?

What energy is Jupiter?

Jupiter’s atmosphere is characterized by turbulent conditions due to the immense pressure of its bulk, which crushed its interior and continues to do so as it continues to contract. This internal heat warms the planet and plays a major role in its weather. Jupiter radiates twice as much infrared energy as it receives from the Sun, and its core temperature may be about 43, 000ºF (24, 000°C), hotter than the Sun’s surface. This heat leaks through the liquid metallic hydrogen and liquid hydrogen layers to supply energy to the atmosphere.

Atmospheric gases boil up from the warm bottom layers to the cooler upper layers, with temperatures at the top of the atmosphere being –261°F(–163°C). Convection drives violent weather on Jupiter, with heat leaking outward from the interior and causing atmospheric gases to boil up. Jupiter’s unique banded appearance is due to its rapid spinning and high wind speeds, with lightning being a frequent occurrence. The Great Red Spot, a massive storm system larger than Earth’s diameter, has been raging for at least several hundred years.

  • Jupiter in Scorpio in the 8th. Wow. Brought me to tears. I have rheumatoid arthritis. ✔️ I pry in others personal lives ✔️ My husband calls me an arm chair doctor as I’m always diagnosing ✔️ I had my spiritual awakening in 2018 ✔️ My emotional states are very polarizing ✔️ Literally everything you said ✔️✔️✔️ EDIT!! I Just listened for my husbands Pisces placement. Yes, this is why we’re meant for each other 😂 I get his depth. I’m dead now.

  • I have only just discovered you Sky and I have been absolutely binging your “Through the Sign series”. I love listening to you speak, you are so incredibly intelligent, beautifully spoken and a fantastic story teller… Thank-you for taking the time to share your wisdom and passion and deepen our understanding of Astrology.

  • Jupiter in Pisces 27 deg, Sun 29 deg.Pis., Mercury 20 Pis .Chiron 12 Pis. You nailed it about caring about people and healing but not caring about stuff for itself. I’m called a shape-shifter, I do body-work, horse massage, art, healing with plants, etc. Happiest living off the grid and solitude, but I love relationships with those who can get me. Nobody can pin me down and I do swim around a lot of rules but not a law-breaker in any bad sense of the word. Yes, it’s hard to be understood, but I don’t care, lol.

  • I have Jupiter in Capricorn and I had my Jupiter return last year and … nothing happened. 12 years ago at my other Jupiter return I started working as a freelancer, I was making money, and 12 years before that something happened in my family. But in 2020 – absolutely nothing happened for me. I did take a few courses and learn new things but I ‘ve always done that (I have 3 college degrees and I always love to learn new things). I also had a lot less work due to the pandemic, but I was still able to live decently. I felt 2020 like a frozen year.

  • Jupiter in Capricorn but I have a lot of Scorpio and sagittarius placements so… in the past, I was either promoted within 3 months and “what have I done” quit at month 7 or quit after 4 months. It was quite the pattern. Now, tapped into spirit, I am allowing myself to be at a better state of flow.. directing me to where I actually belong and would whole heartedly commit.

  • Jupiter in Capricorn here, I feel like I 2020 was a very rewarding year. I appreciate this placement, it helps me with fulfilling my purpose, however am a very reputation focused in some aspects, but i do feel like I’m authentic . I am a Pisces Sun, Aries Rising, Leo Moon, and I really appreciate how my chart is set up.

  • Jupiter in Scorpio 10th house here 🙋🏼‍♀️ digging into people’s natal charts, studying psychology, writing a work on psychopatologies and many more 😂 Ifeel like I study and naturally teach about depths and maybe taboos.. before my own therapies, I had autoimmune, hashimoto. I was afraid to speak my truth. Healing myself gives me capacity to heal others with greater understanding. Hypersensitive and an empath, yes. Arts writing and crafts always were supporting investigation of imagination, can’t stop myself when studying depths of human psyche even when it hurts me, I continue digging no matter what I will find or learn, no matter if that truth makes my life harder, I just have to swim deep… Also, yes, I was at my lowest point at 2018 .. love your articles!

  • Oh my! Cap Jupiter makes hoops to jump through and raises the stakes. I lost leadership positions with my teams bc i was creating too many hoops! Combined with my Aqua sun trying to fight for a cause…scared ppl away who didnt get it. Had an aha moment listening to this. So much for building an empire! My boss also had this placement. Was always over extending her team with so many requirements for her personal needs and the projects, wearing us all out as she wld change her mind or sabotage all if our efforts. She has a Gemini sun. It was like constantly building on sand!

  • Jupiter in Leo! (Of course I had to let everyone know lol) I definitely struggle with the imitation but. For example, in martial arts I feel like I need to push myself exactly how to masters do and I end up destroying myself either in judging myself super harshly for not being like them or physically burning myself out

  • Replay# I enjoyed this. I have Jupiter in Scorpio with Neptune and Uranus haha and Pisces rising. Your Scorpio and Pisces explanations really hit. I feel getting to understand my Jupiter, will help me and Virgo too.. There really is quite an internal dynamic going on in my chart, and this article was wonderful to understand myself. Process myself within the collective, and work with how that rhythm, influences me? …I am going to listen again! So many more messages are there. Thank you. I learned a lot about myself this morning. Great job!

  • Sky, thank you so much for seeing me and my Jupiter in Pisces placement. 😊💜💜💜 In the last month I’ve been very drawn to this planet and all the associated mythology (notably around Thor as I explore my Nordic roots). Also leaning in to my Sag 7th house and relationship desires, more Jupiter. I open my heart to a spirit soul with Jupiter in Scorpio to understand and come merge expansively with me.

  • This was great! I could match these up to people I know and so accurate! I’m jupiter in pisces and I love being on my own, it’s never boring but at the same time love people so totally get the duality. I also totally related to we care but don’t care at the same time, it’s not personal, definately a more expansive universal type of caring and for sure can be detached and aloof definitely!

  • Wow! I’m Jupiter in Scorpio I work as a 9-1-1 dispatcher and make witchy candles focused on healing. Previously I worked in major crime and death investigation as a crime scene technician handling lots of chemicals until I got sick with MS (an autoimmune disease) I also have Saturn in Scorpio (yeesh)

  • Okay. Hello, me again. Jupiter in Aquarius. My jobs have been in problem solving, mostly, because the stream of consciousness thought process makes me an incredible analyst and I think so much differently than others. I feel like an alien. I am very restless. I have moved continents and I’ve made others uncomfortable with my spontaneity. I am perfectly comfortable with a day trip I only planned 10 minutes ago. Others, not so much. I need to travel or I would shrivel up. Thanks for all your hard work. I think I have a jumping off points to fix nearly everything I’ve struggled with. I had beef with Saturn for years. It’s just, me as a person. All of my planets are in 12-3, Scorpio to Aquarius. Wow.

  • My chart ruler is my out of bounds cancer Jupiter in the seventh, so many lucky coincidences throughout my life so far 😍 of course there’s been many challenges and hard times too but all of them have pushed me in to something greater in the long run 🙏🏻 for those that can’t feel their luck yet, trust that everything is as it should be and that the challenges that you receive are given to you because you can handle them, you have exactly the tools you need within. All of us being able to watch this and who are able to take the time for introspection and self development are truly lucky 🍀

  • Jupiter in Cancer here, with Capricorn Saturn. Definitely don’t feel the luck of having Jupiter here. I do very rarely get to experience some truly magical miracles, but the rest of my life (most days) it has been a struggle to survive, especially with a line of endless traumas in the last 10 years, things most people my age have never had to endure, and so I always feel like an outsider. I will say I agree about people helping me a lot in the past, which is spot-on. Nowadays that’s no longer true, I’m always left on my own, but I wonder if part of it isn’t because I feel like I need to do things on my own now, because I already have this deep sense of shame of owing others who have helped me before?

  • Amazing insights. Thank you so very much ❤️🙏 Jupiter in Scorpio..I am deeply interested in human psychology, studying Subconscious mind and sharing my observations with others ..so that people lead empowered lives (because they can understand their mind better). I feel astrology, tarot..etc falls under this domain..where we r exploring the unknown or unrevealed side of life .that is dictating our lives

  • Hi, Sky 🌌! Im a Jupiter and Saturn (yes, i was born close to a great conjunction in 2000) in TAURUS (and in my 2nd whole sign house), and YES, whenever something was really easy and abundant for me was when I didn’t try hard, and this matches my life philosophy of “just chill” haha. Since i was born, i was adopted by my parents, and we were always wealthy, tbh (jus adding this info so that we can all learn some more about astrology, pf course), and I’m SO blessed to have this life. In terms of receptiveness, i agree a LOT. If I’m like “dressed for the ocassion”, i usually get away with some luck/i achieve the goal i wanted in the first place. Aaaaand yeah, having this planet at 0* dregrees of Taurus (making it be THE stereotype of this placement), i indulge… a lot. Haha. After all this 2020, I’m deciding to eat what my body asks for and NOT feel guilty about it. Thanks for all these vids, they are super well explained, and, although i study and practice traditional astrology, i still gather all your info to learn from it. 🔆

  • You are so sweet “big bones”. I’ve been blaming my Moon in Cancer for the round face 🌝 Seriously though, thanks for the info. My Saturn in ♎is in the 10th House & I am forever struggling with authority and forcing my introverted self to be as sociable & outgoing as career & Society require. Now I know why and thank you for mentioning the way we can use Jupiter to game the system. Cool.

  • As a jupiter in taurus I really resonated with what you said about putting in a lot of conscious work actually backfiring. Especially this year lol. I’ve also always known I was lucky as well…. Things just always seem to work out in one way or another😅 thank you so much for your insight i thoroughly enjoyed it

  • Jupiter In Aquarius! So good to hear what feels like is calling to me so much the idea to travel more. Appreciate the rooting and drawing upon other travels then up rooting and moving on. Thank you! Not sure yet how to manifest this. But recently been considering taking time in February and or March to travel to no one place in particular.

  • Jupiter in Aquarius natal 🙂 Astrology wise I’m more into Evolutionary Sates over Predictive – Travel, live all over the place, preparing to move country again ahaha I looked back and pretty much all my Returns I’ve moved off or travelled in a big way – Uranus currently in my 9th with Saturn putting on the breaks – though good as I am preparing a residential move so need to plan properly not just pack and go walkabouts as previously. Questioning my world view and learning astrology more – Thank you Sky for your work and chats, always very enjoyable and lovely energy.

  • 4 Pisces Jupiter. Loved the podcast. Age 71. I have always spent much time alone because I wanted to learn and I found my Astrology books much more friend like than people. Jupiter tribes Mars and trines Uranus in ninth. I study using many books at a time. I feel alienated from others because they can’t speak about what I love. I feel so sorry for “us” because so much truth has be deliberately squashed and replaced with half-truths and gibberish so that no one can decipher. Only if one has the strength and determination to scratch through the labyrinth and go it alone in-spite of all the dire warnings from well meaning unknowing people. Alone out of necessity. But my fault. Apparently I helped hide this knowledge in a previous lifetime. In this one I was born into a family with an alcoholic father. Jan 24 1930 8:15pm west Jefferson NC. Uncontrollable maverick and June 6 1931 1:35am Rising Sun Md mother. Lots of alcohol and no books or even magazines in the home. They lived off the skirt tails of their family. Book called me a survivor and that I was severely punished fir a wrong doing in previous life. Karma is I give back free of charge what I took away. I’m trying but Cassandra won’t let me be believed.

  • I’m so unlucky. My Saturn is cancer 7th house and Jupiter is Virgo 8th house so both planets have no one to look out for since both are in a debilitated state. What makes it more difficult in my chart is that my rising is Capricorn!! It gets worse I’ve got Pluto in sag in the 12th house. But hey it could be worse since I have a cancer moon Virgo sun and mercury and a libra Venus and despite the awful Saturn placement in terms of aspects I’ve got a mercury sextile Saturn and moon conjunct Saturn which isn’t TOO bad but there’s a lot of tension between my moon ascendant and Venus placements. I definitely agree with what u said about finding it hard to find my way or how I fit in society or just among other people. I’ve struggled a lot with finding the right path in terms of career and since appearance is a big deal for me even finding my style and aesthetic has been difficult. I feel like I can never express myself properly I get too indecisive and overthinking how would I appear to the rest of society but I guess u only grow from the challenges. the hardest part is trying to balance the cancer/water in my chart and the Capricorn/earth energy which is so strong. Its so difficult trying to balance he family/friend oriented caring nurturing emotional cancer and the business oriented self-disciplined responsible Capricorn energy. It’s like trying to keep a ready to burst faucet closed (highly emotional vs extreme control) but I think overtime I’ll HAVE to find that middle ground but my Pisces mars isn’t helping either.

  • Jupiter in Pisces. I really liked what you said about looking to jupiter if Saturn is a bit more debilitated etc. I have Saturn in Cancer, apex of a yod, as well as opposing Mars in Capricorn which creates t square w pluto in libra. So Saturn has been a bit of an unwinding of lessons. I’m going to play a bit more w using my jupiter placement and not so focused on “figuring out” all the Saturn issues.

  • Jupiter 8° in Scorpio & Jupiter is my Dominant Planet. Honorable Mention- My 8H is at 0° Scorpio & it contains my 0° Scorpionic Pluto, My Scorpionic Jupiter & my Scorpionic North Node. I also have Sun Square Pluto, Moon Trine Pluto & several other aspects. WILL YOU PLEASE DO A article ON THE PLACEMENTS I JUST MENTIONED?? puh-LEASE.

  • Jupiter cancer saturn and moon in cap. Didn’t have a good upbringing which has made me a fierce and intuitive momma. I always feel like I have a guardian angel or someone helping me further my career but I do notice when I was younger and retaliated against toxic leaders (I’m an Aries sun) I’d get the wrath of saturn ten folds. So now 33, when something bad happens, I respond with grace and I usually have a very positive outcome

  • Love this one! I am a Jupiter in Pisces, and if that is not complicated enough, it’s in an intercepted 12th house, at 22°, conjunct Chiron and my sun. Also involved in a grand water trine being led by Neptune in Scorpio and trined to moon in Cancer. I have an Aqua stellium, Venus, Mercury and Saturn. I am an Aries rising, Leo Mars at 6°.I was born the very same day as Joel Osteen and Joe Exotic. Joel and I differ in rising signs. Joe and I are much different. He has a night chart and missed the Grand Trine in water, much to his detriment. While my intercepted Pisces/Virgo axis has challenged me greatly, (Virgo holding Uranus and Pluto, so intercepted energy as well), I’ll take that any day with my Grand Trine. Joel I feel started into things with the best of intentions, then lost himself (Neptune?). Joe, I feel never had a chance. Way to much to overcome for him to handle. It’s been really cool, for me to have 2 such dynamic individuals to compare myself with and look to their charts to see how they manifested similar energies.

  • Jupiter and Saturn both in Cap, 22 and 24 degrees in the sixth house, 2020 was my 59 years Jup and Sat return. Been trying to change my line of work but feeling stuck, part of me is trying to let go but another part is pulling me back. Yes, I am the cautious step by step type. And no, I have been changing work and carriers several times in my life and never something like, ‘what have I done’. And yes, I have major authority issues. And no, I am not busy with gathering material stuff. And yes, I need to focus more on enjoyment and fun. And no, I have never been busy with my reputation or jumping through houpes. I am known as quite an authentic person and at the same time responsible and committed. This combination is possible, you know. So overall I don’t recognize myself very much in this reading. Also thought it was quite negative. But yes, I get it that there is a conflict with this placement and I assume it depends on the rest of the chart to know what it really means

  • My Jupiter is in Virgo but it is retrograde and I have NO trouble at all taking the time to just sit and enjoy things, also I do not over book my time or try to micro organize things. It is in the 11th house and is Square my natal Saturn, So this last year has been a perfectly normal year for me as my Pluto is also retro. It sure was not a big surprise for me. I am a Capricorn Sun and Taurus moon with Libra on the ascendant and most of my houses are on the 23 to 26 degrees of the house they sit in to start the house placements. I do believe I got the full measure of the last year, but was lucky enough to mitigate it for the most part since it is all normal feeling of the aspects for me.. LOL who knew???

  • hmmm…? — as you said about those born w/ their natal Jupiter in Cap, and the overall energy of those with this placement possibly being akin the VIBE of 2020; I wonder if that’s why this last year felt oddly apposite to me? While the everyone was feeling like the entire world was falling apart around them, I stepped into the year (pre-VIRUS) highly optimistic and remained that way throughout. I’d even go as far as to say that during the mass melee, I’ve been able to reassess and redirect my life both in way I’ve never been able to do in my 37 years on this planet. All in ONE year. & I’m going on record with that!! 😎 😘

  • I have Jupiter in Aquarius. In the fourth house. Squared Mars in Scorpio in 1st. Not that that’s a major problem, but my Mars is exactly opposite my Lilith in Taurus (1° orb), in 7th house, forming a T-square with my Jupiter. Maybe the negative aspects have come and gone already? I see Jupiter in Aqua as always learning, reading, I know way too many scientific facts lol. I don’t forget SHIT, haha. I notice, far more, the fact that my Scorpio first house has Mars and Pluto there!! Along with the south node! 😬

  • Oh, but you forgot the SeaGoat! Goat parts on the front and fish bits in the back…. great for climbing mountains strategically placed by BigDaddySaturn. 🥸🥶🤤🙄 lol 😆 Centaur doesn’t have to be the odd man out as the sole mythological creature this way. 😉 I’m 20% ruled by Jupiter and he’s #1 dominant (my only domiciled planet) and he is conjunct that other weirdo Uranus…. a wide conjunction with my Scorpio 3rd house moon. I’ve also got Neptune in that packed 4th house party. My Virgo Ascendant doesn’t mind the moon light but I always stand out in a crowd and when grounded, I can make ya laugh and/or regain your faith but don’t ever aim for the spotlight…. honestly, I live to make others laugh, to learn and to love. 😄🌟😜 Just coming into the Higher Learning and “self essence” of my 4th house Sagittarius stellium! 🌞 in ♑ conjunct (combust?) BM Lilith so I really really get projected upon by society and am quite misunderstood by most at first…. mosdef an odd duck all my life but am absolutely authentic but it works for me and I like to help others do the same (i suppose I’m always standing up for the underdogs, ive noticed… don’t fear much) 🌙 in ♏ so I have mosdef been burnt at the stake in this life metaphorically and literally in past lives (according to dreams ive always had) Pluto and Saturn conjunct in Scorpio also. So three stelliums? 3rd house/Scorpio, 4th house Sagittarius and 5/6th house of Aquarius.

  • My Jupiter is conjunct the sun and opposite Uranus in Taurus 6th house. Yes, I’m kind of weird but you might not know it just by looking at me. I’m very tall and naturally muscular. I have very good health and very interested in the workings of politics and spirituality. People seek me out to teach them things.

  • Pisces in the 12th house. I connect with distant family and friends often through dreams. I can’t count the number of times I’ve woken from a dream and found a text or missed call from the person in my dream and often relative content. I feel like my Jupiter is far reaching intuitively – most often through watery Piscean dreams.

  • Jupiter in Scorpio. I attract really interesting people hahahahaha but my Jupiter is libra in sidereal. I switched to organic living and it’s much better…. Just a tip for other Jupiter in Scorpio people’s 💪🏽🤙🏽🤘🏽 eat the right foods, drink plenty of clean water, get adequate minerals and vitamins from foods and drinks and it will be much better. I am a healer and my 6th is Aries do I’m full on into being healthy, healing and being my best self.

  • I was married to a charming, handsome, popular, professionally successful Jupiter in Libra man. What’s not to like? Lots. Because he also has the North Node and Scorpio conjunct in his first house. The meaning? Selfish and secretive. And he is a man with options. Many options, especially because he appreciates men and women. So where’s my Jupiter? In self effacing Virgo. I was the the little woman in the little house raising the kids as the big ego Jupiter in Libra in the 11th house was out having the time of his life being admired. From my Ex’s perspective, this was the perfect arrangement. Ugh! There’s a lot of striking comparisons between our charts. One being that his sun is in Virgo where my my Jupiter is. My sun is in his 8th house. So he is my financial security. I know that we can choose to live out our lives from a higher or lower level but our charts dictate what the theme is.

  • Notas: Debilitation of Jupiter. But debilitations aren’t always bad, debilitations can be helpful. Júpiter in Gemini is too quick and shifty, a bit unfocused, quite contrarian. There’s something quite myopic about this placement. It’s very well coordinated tech savvy and enterprising, but it tends to think small with it. They’re very eccentric in their knowledge, they can have a lot of diverse knowledge and know a little bit of everything. Lots of experience that brings many new ideas, but Jupiter in Gemini keeps this eccentric knowledge to apply it in a mundane way, like different mindsets apply to very mundane things. Very funny, great sense of humor. they’re very good at relating, they have a sense of camaderie with others. They can shift in and out of any situation, they don’t get stuck. It can be difficult for them to communicate how they really feel.
