Fender is the mascot for Fur Affinity, a popular furry fandom website. Created by artist K-9, it was based on an idea by Dragoneer and is part ferret/fox hybrid. In May 2007, it was announced that the female dragon form would become a separate character from Fender, and a second mascot named Rednef would appear. The character’s attitude is mostly punkier furries and Sonic OCs.
Fender’s mascot is a mix-and-match of various features, from simple construction to more sophisticated ones like moving jaw mechanisms and animatronics. The account is used for blue tie Ferrox appreciation, posting official Fur Affinity news updates, and general FA oddities only.
The Raptorworks Mascot, Wren, is a Zapsalis, a dromaeosaur that most people have never heard of. After months of playfully annoying each other with these two characters, they were given names, con badges, and are now FurPlanet’s mascot characters.

What is the name of animal cosplay?
Fursuits are custom-made anthropomorphic animal costumes worn by cosplayers and members of the furry fandom, known as “furries”. The term was coined in 1993 by Robert King. Fursuits represent an original character created by their wearer and are often better-fitting and more intricately crafted, with features such as a moving jaw. They come in a wide range of styles, from cartoonish to highly realistic. Fursuits gained popularity in the mid-1990s and the rise of the Internet, which spread ideas on costume making.
Most early fursuit making was done by the suit’s owner using community guides, such as Critter Costuming by Adam Riggs. By the mid-2000s, the demand for high-quality fursuits was high enough that fursuit making became a viable business. Furries began to commission specialized makers with their custom designs or open-ended requests. The industry now sells millions of dollars worth of suits each year, and organizations like sports teams are increasingly commissioning custom-made fursuits for their mascots.

What is the mascot of Tau Beta Sigma?
In 1943, the Tech women petitioned the Grand Council of Kappa Kappa Psi to become an active chapter of the national Fraternity. However, accepting the group would require a complete revision of the Kappa Kappa Psi constitution. Due to the war, doubts arose about the next fraternity convention, so Tau Beta Sigma suggested forming its own national organization. Until a national convention could be held, Tau Beta Sigma could be considered the “sister organization” of the Fraternity. The Grand Council agreed that Tau Beta Sigma could share in all fraternal publications.
During the application for a national charter, the Tech Chapter faced difficulties involving Texas state corporation laws. In 1945, A. Frank Martin, National Executive Secretary of Kappa Kappa Psi, met with the women to work out a plan to bring the Sorority the national status they sought. Martin suggested that the local band sorority at Oklahoma State University apply for the charter.
In January 1946, the women of the Texas Tech Tau Beta Sigma Band Sorority surrendered their name, constitution, ritual, and jewelry designs to the local band club at Oklahoma State University. This allowed the Oklahoma State group the title of “Alpha, the Mother Chapter”, and accepted the status of “Beta Chapter”, the second chartered chapter. A charter was granted by the Department of State for the State of Oklahoma, legally establishing “Tau Beta Sigma, National Honorary Band Sorority”.

Grasses have a very simple structure, and a very simple way of life. You can better grasp what grass needs when you understand how it actually functions in the world. At the base of the grass plant, roots grow down into the earth. Typically, grass roots are fibrous, or threadlike. They extend into the soil like fingers, collecting nutrients, soaking up water and securing the plant to the ground. Grass stems, called culms, grow up from the base of the plant (the crown). In most grass species, the culms are hollow and rigid, except at the nodes — joints that join stem segments together. Narrow leaves extend out from the culms, above each node. The leaves alternate in direction. That is, if the first leaf on a culm grows to the right, the second leaf will grow to left and the third leaf will grow to the right and so on. The lower part of the leaf is called the sheath, and the upper part is called the blade. In most grasses, a ligule surrounds the connection between the sheath and the blade. A ligule can take the form of a thin membrane or a fringe of hair-like projections. Like the leaves on a tree, grass leaves serve to collect energy from sunlight through photosynthesis. The photosynthesizing chlorophyll in the leaf gives grass its green color. There are two major methods of reproduction in grasses. Some grasses have additional stems that grow sideways, either below ground or just above it. Stems that creep along the ground are called stolons, and stems that grow below ground are called rhizomes.
