A novile, also known as a nonagon or a nonagen, is a minor aspect of 40° created by subdividing a circle (360°) into nine equal parts. It refers to the activity of “brooding”, both physical and mental. The novile series (3*3) is thought to describe the individual’s inner ideal, self-identification with a purpose and function related to a global or universal scheme. By understanding how the three Septile-series aspects work and the four Novile-series aspects work, we can see when crucial “forks in the road of destiny” will happen.
Noviles are defined by a 40-degree angle between planets in a birth chart, offering insight into our creative spark, intuition, and intuition. They are derived from dividing 360° by 9 = 40 degrees. Multiples of this give: bi-novile = 80°; tri-novile = 120°; quad-novile = 160°; quin-novile = 200°; sen-novile =. According to Dane Rudhyar, the novile is a symbol for “the process of pregnancy which enables an idea or form to become organically viable”. A novile aspect can signal the end of a particular phase or initiation.
Prominent astronomer Johannes Kepler introduced most of minor aspects, including the vigintile. Noviles occur when two planets are forty degrees apart, with an orb of about five or six degrees. The novile series of aspects are related to the trines and sextiles, all in the same family as it were. Unlike quintile and septile people, novile people do not try to change the world but accept it as it is.
A novile is an angle of 40° (1/9 of the 360° ecliptic), indicating an energy of perfection and/or idealization. Noviles form an angle of 40° and can represent karmic bondage, attachment to past events, and the timing of transitions and developmental changes in the lives of people and affairs relative to the Earth.

Is a sextile good or bad?
The sextile is a type of astrological alignment where two planets are separated by two zodiac signs and are roughly 60 degrees apart. These planets are in compatible elements, such as earth + water or fire + air, which support each other and flow easily. Sextiles are often happy and chill, bringing good moods and camaraderie. An opportunity may present if we seize the day to take action and uncover it.
For example, Venus and Neptune are sextile in your birth chart, bringing creativity and a romantic demeanor. On a random day, you may be more openhearted, likely drawn towards beauty, romance, or art.
Squares are another type of astrological alignment where two planets are separated by three zodiac signs, resulting in a battle between them. These squares often bring tension, struggles, and conflict, as each planet doesn’t see eye to eye. To navigate this energy, it’s best to compromise and find strength in overcoming challenges. For example, if Mars squares Saturn in your natal chart, you may feel blocked and criticized by the world, but these challenges can also teach you to find strength and create solutions.

What is the luckiest aspect in astrology?
Trines are favorable aspects in astrology, occurring between planets approximately four zodiac signs apart (or 120 degrees). These planets are usually situated in the same element (fire, earth, air, or water) and create a gentle union distinguished by ease and fluidity. When they sync, these planets understand each other, allowing for easy movement with little external effort. However, too much trining can lead to problems, such as laziness and complacency.
The most notorious aspect is the square, which occurs between planets approximately three zodiac signs apart (or form 90-degree angle in the sky from our vantage point). These planets are usually situated within the same modality (cardinal signs), fixed signs, and mutable signs. Squares are considered hard aspects, creating tension and dividing intentions, leading to emotional or logistical roadblocks. Despite this friction, squares always catalyze action. They are considered motion-oriented, enabling us to easily identify issues and address them rather than sweeping them under the rug.
For example, when Mars (all about spontaneous motivation) and Saturn (all about rules and regulations) square, we may feel that our passions are being dampened by our responsibilities. However, this aspect also creates an opportunity to slow down and become a true master at our craft through refinement, hard work, and strategic planning.
To identify the zodiac signs that are always squaring each other, use the following list: Aries, Leo, Sagittarius (fire), Taurus, Virgo, Capricorn (earth), Gemini, Libra, Aquarius (air), Cancer, Scorpio, Pisces (water).

A grand water trine is a rare astrological aspect where all three water signs come together, allowing for tender, alluring, and delightful things to transpire. This trine is a mystical, enigmatic, and ever-changing nature on earth and living beings, as water signs are constantly flowing like ocean waves. When these signs come together through a grand water trine, they create synergy, creating a peaceful and beneficial connection between the signs and planets.

Saturn’s usual defining and controlling nature may be difficult to express due to Pisces’ sign of devotion and unconditional love. Instead of defining reality, Saturn in Pisces needs to be open to intuitively realizing the best and most productive path going forward. This requires tuning in to the “inner directive” received from the Universe. By focusing on the best and most productive path, Saturn can help individuals navigate their lives more effectively.

I just want to testify about the 80 degree novile of the natal moon to the relocated midheaven. The only other aspect at this location is Saturn trine relocated ascendant. I created a 9th harmonic chart for the relocated natal chart and bingo the moon in the 12th house is exactly novile 80 degrees to the MH! I bought the house on a whim 11 years ago. When I walked through the open house, it just felt comfortable. So I made an offer that day. Despite competitive bids, my offer was accepted. After 10 years of living here I am getting restless because I have not really connected with any friends here. The house has appreciated in value by over 3X in 10 years, so I don’t regret living here.
Hi David, Just a quick question: I am trying to help my friend and her son relocate. Would their composite chart map be as strong (or stronger) and as much of a factor as their individual charts and maps? I didn’t think much of the composite chart map until I looked up my boyfriend’s and my own composite chart map—and we have a Moon 20 deg MC exactly where we live! Thanks for any suggestions, Cat
Sydney, I just read about binoviles (80 degrees). Apparently, it is very karmic. I have this exact aspect with someone. It’s a moon ascendant binovile. What do you know about this aspect? I also have a tight tridecile with that same person and a bunch of septiles which I have in my natal chart but I’ve read a lot about those. Just beautiful I think 💕
