When equipped, the amulet applies the condition: High Spirits, making everything seem more vibrant. Once equipped, these accessories may give the character certain bonuses, such as new Spells, resistance against certain kinds of damage, and bonus points.

Should I accept Tasha’s hideous laughter?

The amulet contains a spirit that speaks to you, causing laughter but ultimately harmlessness. The spirit wants to be delivered to his granddaughter in Wyrm’s Crossing. To reach it, leave the Shadow-cursed Lands and head to the Open Hand Temple. Inside, you learn about Shirra Clarwen, who died years ago and is interred beneath the temple. The hatch in the kitchen leads to her crypt. Once you reach her tomb, interact with it to open it, and the monk in the necklace will possess her body.

You must accept or deny the madness that afflicted the monk. If you decline, you must fight Shirra’s body and the reanimated corpses in the other three tombs. The quest ends when you defeat the undead, allowing you to loot them as a reward.

What happens if you bear the madness in BG3?

Baldur’s Gate 3 is a challenging adventure filled with activities and secrets. To help the Cursed Monk, pass two checks: a DC15 for Wisdom and Constitution and a DC2 for Illithid Wisdom. Failure to pass these checks will result in -2 Wisdom loss. Regardless of success, you will receive Tasha’s Hideous Laughter spell, which can leave a target prone to fits of laughter. Baldur’s Gate 3 is filled with secrets and activities, and completing it can take countless hours. For more tips, visit the BG3 guides hub.

Should I take the amulet to Wyrm’s Crossing?

The Cursed Monk requests that you bring the Sentient Amulet to his granddaughter, who lives at the Open Hand Temple in Wyrm’s Crossing. Until Act Three, you can use its effects, such as casting Shatter, restoring Ki Points, and talking to the Amulet. However, you may need to make a Wisdom saving throw to avoid hysterics and potentially incapacitate yourself during a fight. The effects are beneficial for monks, but caution is advised.

Should I give in to the laughter in BG3?

The cursed monk in Baldur’s Gate 3 attempts to curse players with laughter, which is harmless. He wants to meet his granddaughter, Shirra Clarwen, in the Open Hand Temple in Wyrm’s Crossing. To find Shirra, go to the Open Hand Temple near the Circus of the Last Days and speak with Sister Yannis. She died a year ago and was buried in a crypt beneath the temple. Follow the blood trail to a wooden hatch in the kitchen and explore the area to find a double door. Open the tomb to find Shirra, and the cursed monk will ask players if he should bestow his curse on them.

What should I do with the sentient amulet?

The Sentient Amulet, a rare item found in Baldur’s Gate 3, is a challenging item to acquire due to its suspicious nature. Acquiring it requires fighting a Lava Elemental, navigating environmental hazards, and opening a high DC lock. The spirit’s madness can lead to different outcomes and upgrades for the amulet, but both have risks. The player can choose to accept the spirit’s madness or refuse it, resulting in different outcomes and upgrades.

The Sentient Amulet stands out from other necklaces in the game due to its ability to communicate with the player. While equipping such items with suspicion is recommended for safe play in the Forgotten Realms, it’s not necessarily worth it. The ultimate payoff for the amulet’s story doesn’t come until Act 3 of Baldur’s Gate 3, making it difficult to make an informed decision when the amulet is first acquired.

Should I let Astarion bite me?

Allowing Astarion to bite you can gain approval, but it comes with a downside: you gain the Bloodless debuff, while Astarion gains the Happy buff and your approval rating increases. If you fail two checks or don’t stop, your character will be dead the next morning at camp start. After allowing Astarion to bite you, you will be afflicted with the Bloodless condition, which gives you a -1 penalty to Attack Rolls, Saving Throws, and Ability Checks. Inversely, Astarion will gain the Happy condition, which is the inverse of your penalty, giving him a +1 to Attack Rolls, Saving Throws, and Ability Checks.

Should I fight the lava elemental in BG3?

Exploring the Adamantine Forge in Baldur’s Gate 3 is a crucial side quest in Act One, allowing the party to claim unique Adamantine gear. The Lava Elemental, a tough enemy with 95 Health and AC12, is highly likely to encounter the party. It is immune to Fire Damage and has both Poison and Piercing Resistance, making it difficult to use spells like Fireball. The Lava Elemental’s unique abilities include Magmatic Regeneration, Magmatic Disturbance, and Create Lava, which allow it to regain 20-120 hit points when starting a turn in lava, burst and explode lava, and create new pools of lava underneath its feet.

Who murdered Father Lorgan?

The player must use their “speak with the dead” ability to speak to Father Lorgan directly, asking about his death and who killed him. Father Lorgan reveals that Brilgor was not the person who killed him, but a “dwarf dressed in red”. After speaking to Father Lorgan, players should keep the character who speaks with the dead in their party.

From the room with Father Lorgan’s corpse, players should head out the back door and into the kitchen. They should follow the path through the graveyard to the grave next to the small mausoleum. Interacting with the dirt mound will allow players to dig out Brilgor’s casket, and attacking it with a character will reveal his dead body.

Using their death-speaking companion, players should gather more details from Brilgor, the supposed “killer”. After speaking to the dead and gathering the necessary details, players should head to the scene of the murder, entering the hatch that Sister Yannis mentioned. In the cellar, players will find a large room with two statues, an altar, and an obvious panel of the wall.

Can Astarion turn you?

Astarion, a non-vampire character in Baldur’s Gate 3, is controlled by a master vampire and can become one if he drinks that master’s blood. During the “The Pale Elf” quest, after killing his former master, Cazador Szarr, Astarion can ascend to full vampire status by completing the same ritual that made him a thrall. Astarion violently carves special characters into Cazador, completing the ritual and ascending to full vampire status. This destroys everyone in the vampire coven, including Cazador himself, as Astarion absorbs their power.

Once the ritual is completed, Astarion becomes an equivalent master vampire with a more powerful bite and the ability to turn into mist. He also becomes more romantically possessive and can turn a player character into a vampire spawn if asked.

Who is True Soul Nere?

In Baldur’s Gate 3, players can interact with True Soul Nere, a character who is trapped in a cave with poisonous gas. In Act 1, players have the choice to kill Nere, let him die, or save him. The choice can lead to various outcomes, with the latter resulting in various fights.

Choices in Baldur’s Gate 3 are crucial, as even seemingly inconsequential decisions can affect NPCs’ interactions with the player character or lead to unexpected outcomes. Freeing Nere can even result in multiple characters being killed. Knowing which choice is right and the consequences is important, especially for those wanting to save time.

Nere is found partially buried under rubble near the Grymforge of the Underdark. Poisonous gas leaks around Nere, and his gnome slaves are trying to free him. The Sentient Amulet summons the Cursed Monk, causing a sudden laughter. To avoid falling into the same curse as the monk, pass a Wisdom check. If you resist, you can speak to the spirit and ask questions through dialogue options. Use Insight or Investigation to confirm the spirit’s intentions. If you don’t have these skills, get your companion in Baldur’s Gate 3 to speak with the spirit. Passing the Investigation check adds a Religion check, confirming the monk’s discipleship of Lathander. Shadowheart will urge you to leave the amulet.
