I thought “Mystic Flute” was the short piano piece that Hovhaness (aged 14, so 1925, showed Rakhmaninov on his touring) & was subsequently played several times on SR’s subsequent travels. I thought I should check this & have not found corroberation ! In fact total clobberation ! So MYSTIC FLUTE is Opus 22 2′ – publ. later by CF Peters – solo piano. Coda may be pure Francois Mardirossian (early Sept. 2021). This a very fine performance indeed.
