Spell Relocation On Bar Ffxiv?

In the video, the user discusses their issue with moving skills around in their hotbar on PS4 using a mouse and keyboard. They have tried searching for solutions in settings but were unsuccessful. The video also explains how to edit moves, spells, and emotes on the hotbar, which is useful for level players.

The cross hotbar can be used by holding either LT or RT (L2 or R2 on PS5™/PS4™, LT or RT on Xbox Series XS). To register actions, press L1+touch panel button, press L2/R2 + the button of the skill you want to move, and press L2/R2 + the button where you want to place that skill.

To set up hotbar keybinds, go to System > Keybind > Hotbar. Each hotbar has 12 slots, so it is recommended to set your hotbar keybinds to 12 buttons that are relatively easy and comfortable for you to press.

The video also discusses creating hotbar layouts and controller keybindings for FFXIV: Dawntrail, optimizing job action rotations and cooldowns for keyboard and mouse or game. Fire 1 and 3 are on the AoE crosshotbar to act as emergency movement buttons with the new instant fire paradox and guaranteed Firestarter. Blizzard 1 is on the crosshotbar.

To remove an icon, right-click it and select Remove. To move an icon, drag and drop or do the above and drag it to the new spot. Unlock the hotbar by clicking the lock icon next to it. To add skills to your hotbar, go to your character menu and press square and then the button combo you want to add.

  • Great article mystic and once again a very well explained article truly if anyone needs any help with ant game your the website to go to always so helpful and everything is always so clear. Also i love all the areas in this game every area looks so pretty and this area with the gold and white really stands out a lot and I really love your little fox at the end of the article so adorable thanks mystic for another masterpiece of a article excellent work 👍

  • so real quick. put these two macros in the 98 and 99 slot. 98 macro /merror off /actionerror off /ac “flying mount roulette” /micon “flying mount roulette” 99 macro /merror off /actionerror off /action Sprint /pvpaction Sprint /micon Sprint you can go to system config > gamepad settings > Gamepad customization > button config. you can set macro 98 and 99 to the left stick button and right stick button. this way you don’t have to have a mount or sprint on your bar. that’s what I do. hope it helps

  • What is not mentioned in this article: if you want the cooldown hotbar to have no keybind info (make it look cleaner), there’s a few more steps. Assign the stuff you want to hotbar 1, then make sure it’s not being displayed. Then, copy everything onto hotbar 7 (this is just the one I use), and make sure that one IS being displayed. This is what I had to do. Perhaps there’s an easier method, lmk.

  • That’s a pretty decent setup with a lot of good thought behind it. Personally though I don’t use the W bars at all. I made my setup before they were added to the game and never saw reason to change it lol. The way I have things set up is this: I use hotbars 1, 2, 3. Hotbars 1 and 2 are basically the same, except 1 is geared towards single target, and 2 is geared towards aoe. These are my “front row” bars, where I keep all the GCDs and basic damage abilities, and are always in view. Hotbar 3 is my “back row” that I access through L2+R2 both ways. It holds mainly the longer cooldowns. To show the cooldowns in bar 3, I have a regular hotbar next to it all in a 3×4 (or 4×3 can’t remember which lol) configuration so it’s a block. While weapon is drawn I only allow 1 and 2 to be shown, so I can swap quickly between single target and aoe by tapping R1. While weapon is sheathed I show 1 and my common hotbars with emotes/mounts/jobs and such. My draw/sheathe weapon is on L1->R1 so I can quickly and easily do that. I turn off auto-sheathe weapon so it stays out until I actively put it away. What this means is that in combat I can have easy access to either single target or aoe rotations without having to use/hold both triggers for longer periods of time. In dungeons I usually leave weapons drawn so I have access to the aoe bar and can’t get caught up in swapping to the wrong hotbars. I can fit pretty much every button I need in this number of slots, some jobs are tight but others even leave open spaces, and it doesn’t take up as much screen real estate as the W bars would.

  • Big tips for controllers. 1. put sprint, mount, levelsync combo macro on a stick (macro 99) so can easily move around and levelsync. 2. put some party chat macros (maybe tankstance) on a Hold Crosshotbar (Hold LT+RT) so you can easily chat the bare minumum in duty roulettes 3. BIG TIP In controller Settings sensitivity is Deadzone NOT SPEED! You need to put that as low as you are comfortable with and change the actual Camera speed in Camera settings.

  • I wish i watched your article before i tried doing it my self now i have overlapping squares and everything… its a complete mess and now i dont know how to put it right even after hitting default lol time to delete the game i think. Im having a battle with my screen never mind enemies lol Ive played mmos for 7years and never had this much of a headache with a game before. Poor design… or maybe its just my poor brain haha

  • Just started after using up my trial a few years ago (meaning I can’t use the new trial unless I start over which I don’t wanna bother with) and I had no idea you could play with a controller! The game is a little janky on mouse and keyboard in like a classic MMO way so I don’t mind it, but especially if I wanna quest or walk around and get immersed I much prefer something smoother and it’s nice to be able to sit back in my chair. I noticed I could use controller but I couldn’t really do anything except walk around and interface a little or gather, then someone told me you can change to controller mode and to look up extended cross hot bar stuff and this is so helpful and cool

  • Good tutorial and I know a lot of people play like this, using a keyboard hotbar to hold cooldown reminders is smart. I personally prefer using both sides of WXHB for buffs and situational abilities with long cooldowns, and only a half of an extended XHB for my melee jobs’ AoE attacks and my mage jobs’ instant attacks. But I still have to figure out a way to play Bard at higher levels comfortably.

  • Since with keyboard/(mmo)mouse I can 99% move while pressing my spells, that means that controller must at least hit 95% to feel worthy. So…I cant use d-pad almost at all (it kinda works with casting spells though). And that is my biggest issue with controller!!! I have tried about 30hours to find a setup that could at least rival my K/M set up but I just couldnt sadly! The best I could do was having default bar, fast switch with RT (when weapon is out), and like you have them. is for single target and for AoE. That means though that any other thing that exists in except the single target combos, must be replicated on as well because otherwise it would be hell doing all these swaps (fast switches,LB–>RB,double RB etc). So having in mind that i have to put a couple of spells twice in my bars(skills like GNB’s Double Down, that you press either in ST or AoE), having “only” 32 available buttons (4 sets*8 buttons each),means that jobs with 28 “job-actions” plus 6 “role-actions” plus sprint (and not even mention any kind of macro) I ended up with 35 actions needed,so it just doesnt work for me!

  • I dont know how to remove things from the hotbar Day 1 of playing. Why have they made the controls so user unfriendly. Its why day 1 players quit day 1 because of these very reasons. Basically the hot bars should have simpler options. Like touch pad highlight hotbar with an option on the empty squares to add or remove. But no it doesnt have that… i mean c’mon… how easy would that be? But no… now im about to throw my ps5 out the window gg lol

  • I use the full 8 options on both double tap L/R then I have a shared across all jobs 8 on L+R with sprint, pots etc. I’ve also got my bars set up so that in combat you can only access the main bar but when sheathed you get access to a couple to cycle through depending on what job it is. Of course you can also hard select one of the hidden bars while in combat but that’s rarely needed Additionally I have some visible hotbars off to the corner of the screen that can be clicked on with extra options like Tank Stance, Aetherial Mimicry, frequent menus etc
