The Influence Of A Mystical Space Typhoon Is Negated?

Setting Mystical Space Typhoon (MST) can make your opponent think you have a Trap Card when you don’t, and when they finally try to destroy it, you can chain yours to come out on top. MST destroys the card and the effect will still activate unless the card needs to be on the field for its effect to trigger. However, there is only one circumstance with a card that is face-up: if the opponent flips a spell or trap face up, DON’T space typhoon it. You can however chain MST to a continuous spell or trap to “negate” it, as those have to be face-up on the field to resolve.

MST does not negate, so it does not do nothing to stop a Fusion spell unless the Fusion Spell is a Continuous Spell (like Dark Contract With the). If MST targets a card in chain, it will destroy the card before its effect can resolve. This can be useful to destroy a Continuous Trap Card like “Imperial Order” or an Equip Spell Card like “Premature Burial” before its effect can resolve. However, “Mystical Space Typhoon” is useless against Normal Spell Cards that are sent to the Graveyard after resolving, like “Dark Hole”.

MST does not negate the effects of cards they destroy when activated in response to the activation of a spell or trap card. It destroys the card but the effect of that card will still be activated. MST, dust tornado, etc. can prevent a continuous card’s effect from happening, almost as if negating it. Cards will only negate if it is face-up on the field.

Why do people think MST negates?

MST destroys the card, not negating it. Cards that specifically say they “negate” traps or spells stop the card from using its effect. In a situation where an opponent has a dark magician and plays mages power, the response or chain effect works in reverse. The first card to activate is MST and destroy mages power, while the second card activates mages power, activating the card effect even without the mages power card.

Does mystical space typhoon negate?

“Mystical Space Typhoon” and “Dust Tornado” do not negate the effects of cards they destroy, so Spell and Trap Cards that are chained to them may still resolve if they are in the Graveyard. The Ancient Forest card does not change the Defense Position monsters to Attack Position if “Mystical Space Typhoon” is chained to its activation. If “Mystical Space Typhoon” is chained to “Pot of Benevolence” and destroyed, it is sent to the Graveyard instead of being removed from play.

Does mystical space typhoon stop Raigeki?

In the absence of a Raigeki negation, the most probable outcome is a resolution of the issue in accordance with the established norms.

Can mystical space typhoon destroy face down cards?

It is possible to destroy any spell or trap card that is currently on the field of play. However, should one destroy a card that is face down, the opponent is then able to activate it, should they be able to do so. To illustrate, if one were to destroy Reckless Greed with Mystical Space Typhoon, the opponent would then be able to activate it.

Does mystical space typhoon stop mirror force?

The “Mystical Space Typhoon” chain resolves backwards, destroying “Royal Decree” and “Mirror Force” monsters. However, “Royal Decree” is no longer face-up when “Mirror Force” resolves, so it doesn’t negate its effect. The chain also mentions that if “Mystical Space Typhoon” is chained to the activation of “Ancient Forest”, defense position monsters are not changed to attack position, as “Ancient Forest” is no longer face-up on the field. If “Mystical Space Typhoon” is chained to “Pot of Benevolence”, it is sent to the Graveyard instead of being removed from play.

How does mystical space typhoon work?

The “Mystical Space Typhoon” destroys “Royal Decree” and “Mirror Force” when it resolves, destroying all Attack Position monsters the opponent controls. However, “Royal Decree” is no longer face-up when “Mirror Force” resolves, so it doesn’t negate its effect. The “Mystical Space Typhoon” can be chained to the activation of “Ancient Forest”, which doesn’t change Defense Position monsters to Attack Position. If “Mystical Space Typhoon” is chained to “Pot of Benevolence”, it is sent to the Graveyard instead of being removed from play.

Does destroying a card negate its effect?

MST chaining can be activated with the objective of targeting Spell Speed 2 or lower Spell and Trap cards for destruction. However, it should be noted that the effect of these cards will not be negated, except in the case of continuous destruction, whereby the card in question does not have sufficient time to apply its effect.

Can mystical space typhoon stop monster reborn?

The Mystical Space Typhoon card has the effect of destroying, rather than negating, the card in question. When the MST is linked to the Monster Reborn, the card is destroyed and a monster is summoned. Nevertheless, the spell card is activated, and the effect is resolved. In order to negate the activation or effect of a spell or trap card, it is necessary to possess cards that are capable of negation. Mystical Space Typhoon and normal trap cards are of the same spell speed (spell speed 2).

Did MST used to negate?

MST is similar to Raigeki Break, but it only destroys Spell and Trap Cards. It does not negate cards, but it does stop the effect of activated Field Spells and Continuous Spells and Traps before they resolve. In a video game, an opponent summons a Stardust Dragon, and the opponent uses MST to negate the summon. The opponent then chains with MST, targeting Royal Oppression, which is destroyed first. However, since Royal Oppression was not on the field after resolution, it does not negate the summon.

How do you negate mystical space typhoon?

“Vylon Epsilon” prevents opponents from activating cards like “Mystical Space Typhoon” and targeting “Vylon Material”. This effect is based on TCG Rulings and mentions in other Rulings. Chaining “Mystical Space Typhoon” to the activation of “Ancient Forest” does not change defense position monsters to attack position, as “Ancient Forest” is no longer face-up on the field. Chaining “Mystical Space Typhoon” to “Pot of Benevolence” destroys it, sending it to the Graveyard instead of being removed from play.

Why isn’t Raigeki banned?

Raigeki, a powerful spell from the original Yu-Gi-Oh! series, was banned permanently due to its destruction negation effects. However, the game has since seen a fair board clear, and Harpie’s Feather Duster, a one-off side deck card, has been relegated to a more competitive option. Although not suitable for many main decks due to not all decks relying on the back row, it can still result in complete blowouts and is a competitively viable option for any side deck. The game’s fair board clear and powerful spells continue to attract players to the original Yu-Gi-Oh! series.
