The Magic Bounce Hatterene Method?

Hatterene, a powerful tank with Magic Bounce, is gaining popularity due to its ability to block the effects of status moves like Taunt and pull off Trick Room without fail. It can be obtained through excellent IVs, such as the Den Raid, and is an imposing Calm Mind user for defensive teams.

In Pokemon Sword and Shield, Hatterene can be found in various locations, including Lake of Outrage, Overworld, Heavy Fog (Lv. 55-58), and wandering around Lake of Outrage. The only way to use Magic Bounce is through excellent IVs, so it can be caught at a 5-Star Raid.

Magic Bounce is Hatterene’s hidden ability, meaning it must be obtained by special means. In the Japan Mini-volume 6 for the X and Y arc, Y’s Absol, Solsol, was revealed to have Magic Bounce as his Ability when Mega Evolved. Hatterene is an imposing Calm Mind user for defensive teams, as its ability Magic Bounce deflects status moves such as Toxic and Thunder Wave.

If you have Healer, don’t use Armotherapy, and consider using a move slot for Magic Bounce. Trick Room is a standard of play for Hatterene, making it an essential skill for defensive teams.

  • Sorry, there’s something I don’t understand. How did you get a trainer help you with a Kirlia tracing Hattrenes ability? Did you go online and used Twitch/Discord and started a room or something? That’s the one thing that wasn’t mentioned on the vid. I have been trying for a while getting one with its HA with no luck

  • How on earth do I pass down hidden ability in sword and shield. I have a female zen mode darmanitan and I’m trying to breed it with a ditto to hopefully get a jolly nature with zen mode but it’s been forever and I still haven’t gotten it. How do I pass down it’s hidden ability to offspring so I can achieve my correct nature and also get the IV’s I want. Can anyone help me?

  • Thanks for the article but I’ve been doing this exact thing for 8 hours over the past two days now and no hidden ability. Can it’s pre-evolved forms have it’s hidden abilities at this den too? Is there any other way or area to get it’s hidden ability? It’s all I want right now and it’s driving me crazy trying to find it. Can anyone help me out?

  • Hatterene & Urshifu(Dark) in doubles, I think this combo may be being slept on and Hatterene may have been built specifically for this setup. Magic Powder turns anything into Psychic, so Urshifu can OHKO pretty much anything with it’s Sinister Strike. Hatterene can also just heal and remove status from Urshifu. Idk how well this set would work in PvP but I’m guessing it may be able to be an answer to things Urshifu struggles against. Maybe even using an unexpected Skill Swap to put Magic Bounce on Urshifu.

  • Verlis, I found a date you’ll love to change you game to: june 1st 2020. You can find melotic roaming south lake miloch and a random aegislash roaming hammerlock hills along with rare spawns more likely to happen like mimikyu, togepi, and honedge.
