Troy University has been a football team since 1946, with T-Roy, the mascot, making his first appearance in the mid-1980s. The Trojan Warrior, a fan favorite, has been a familiar sight at Troy athletic events since its inception. The Trojan Warrior has gone through many iterations and is Troy’s second longest-serving mascot.
T-Roy is known for entertaining fans and taking pictures with the Trojans in the crowd. In lieu of a mascot, someone created Troy’s version of the Angry Wave, a logo called T-Wave, which was only used on cheerleader megaphones. The Trojan football team made its first bowl game appearance in the Silicon Valley in the early 1990s.
T-Roy is excited to have his furry friends join in the fun and cheer on their Trojans with great pet gear. Pete, the official mascot of Troy State, was simply a stuffed animal belonging to a student. The Trojans football team represents Troy University located in Troy, Michigan.
Two years later, the student body officially adopted the “Trojans” as the university mascot. Trojan football flourished at the Division II level, and the university’s mascot, T-Roy, has been a symbol of the Trojans’ commitment to their athletics.
