When planning a one-day Magic Kingdom Park itinerary, families should consider factors such as purchasing Disney Genie+ or individual lightning lanes, staying at an official Disney World hotel, or staying off-site and rope dropping. It is recommended to spend at least two days due to character meet-and-greets, parades, and fireworks. The Park Prodigy team has created different ways to build an itinerary, including staying on-site or off-site and rope dropping without Disney Genie+ or individual lightning lane, using Disney Genie+, and staying on-site or off-site and using Disney Genie+ and individual lightning lanes.
Arriving early and staying late are crucial aspects of a Magic Kingdom park plan. However, if you plan to visit the Magic Kingdom in the morning, go back to your hotel room for a nap, and return to the Magic Kingdom in the evening, you need a Park Hopper ticket. Cathy can book a one-night stay at any of the Disney Resorts hotels, including the Deluxe Villa properties, by visiting the Walt Disney World website and selecting “Deluxe Villas” under “Places to Stay”. Prices vary based on room type and time of year. Multi-day park tickets can be added to your package. If you only wish to reserve a resort room, the deposit to hold the room reservation will be equal to the cost of one night. Many resorts offer Deluxe Studios, 1 Bedroom Villas, 2 Bedroom Villas, and even 3 Bedroom Grand Villas.
Disney’s Old Key West Resort is one of the favorites, with its large onsite rooms and unique layouts. A 2 Bedroom Villa with a large group worked perfectly for our visit, with ample common space areas and large bedrooms for each family.
📹 Disney World’s Magic Kingdom Opens After 4 Month Shut Down! | Crowd Levels, New Procedures & More!
In today’s vlog we finally head back to Walt Disney World! We have the annual passholder preview for Magic Kingdom! We start …
I really appreciate that Tim took the time to address a lot of the policies that WDW is taking and is a lot more critical about it. I noticed that a lot of Disney vloggers are simply applauding the reopening and aren’t addressing a lot of concerns that people have about social distancing and if Disney’s properly sanitizing the parks. Thank you Tim.
I do like how they’re handling the character situation. Obviously it’s a bummer not to get traditional pics with them but I’m glad Disney is at least increasing the numbers of characters you’re likely to see during your day at the park. I hope to see more “mini shows” like the stepsisters, so fun! And I think the character cavalcade will be great as long as the cast members are vigilant about people staying socially distant. 🤞🤞🤞
A few notes on some comments – 1) Water fountain buttons and buzz light year ride guns will be high touch surfaces. However disease is passed through eyes, nose, mouth so if you wash your hands thoroughly afterwards I don’t believe it to be high risk 2) Indoor relaxation station is no different than indoor dining in terms of risk as both allow removing masks while remaining socially distant so it’s not unreasonable. 3) With all that said, it is unprecedented times and a theme park is high risk no matter how you spin it. Only way to stay safe is to not go. Hence the acknowledgment of risk when you buy tickets. Disney clearly made an effort but they can only do so much to safeguard.
We went to the Passholder preview today (on Friday) and it was a very interesting experience. Went from 10 am to 4 pm (because at that point the heat was just too much), got to ride 9 rides including Seven Dwarfs and Splash Mountain, and eat at Liberty Tree. But a lot of the outdoor foods stands and shops aren’t open (it feels like they Want you go indoors to eat to prevent people from walking around without masks on while doing so) and we had issues with the other party in our monorail car not wanting to put their masks on (I would advise people to just stick with the ferry). While as Passholders the overall experience was very enjoyable with everyone we saw in the actual park following the guidelines, I would still advise anyone against doing a major WDW trip right now from out of state. Between the Florida heat and changes to policies/ attractions, you’d be better off saving your money till next year when things hopefully start to transition back to how they were at the start of the year.
That’s me and my two little sisters boarding Aladdin’s Magic Carpets at 22:53 😂 We went to ride it while my parents were getting a dole whip and had no idea you were there! We got to meet you a bit after near Pinnochio’s Village Haus when we finally saw you! Thank you for being such a chill dude (and taking a 6 feet apart picture with me and my family haha!) Totally made me and my family’s day! ❤️
Ok so just a couple of notes here: I was at MK for the first annual pass holder day at 9 am. While parking was a mess the actual park was empty like Tim saw during his trip. I walked into every ride- we did them all and shopped all within two hours. We walked out of the park at 11am having done everything. It was awesome. Second thing: I talked to several cast members who said the crowd we saw was the crowd we can expect moving forward. They allowed max capacity for pass holder days because they wanted a true test and wanted to give as many pass holders a chance to come back as possible. I’m hopeful they were correct. If so Disney is going to be the bees knees for a while.
I work at Thunder, so it looks like i missed you riding yesterday. Yesterday i got off at around 1:15. We’re not suppose to do row requests because it’s hard to put people off to the side, even when running on on side. They reminded us that this morning and i specifically asked about having them go off to the side one side because i know it’s impossible to do on 2 sides I hear Samantha doing the cleaning spiel 😀
Thank you so much for advocating for the Actors Fund! I am an Actor’s Equity member, and needless to say we really don’t know when we will be able to go back to work (Broadway is saying 2021, regional theatres in which I work really just can’t be sure). I love all of your articles, and found this one particularly interesting to see how Disney is working re-opening. Thanks again!
So, while I think the paint job on the castle is nice and well done and all, but I don’t think that the pink really says Cinderella Castle to me. Like, the Cinderella Castle in the movie is blue and white, so I feel like while this new paint job is pretty, it’s not Cinderella Castle and it makes it look like all the other castles in my eyes color wise. Maybe that’s just me.
If Tim is only doing completely outdoor rides at Disney, then these are the ones he can do: Magic Kingdom: -Swiss Family Treehouse -Magic Carpets of Aladdin -Jungle Cruise -Tom Sawyer Island (no caves) -Big Thunder Mountain -Prince Charming Regal Carousel -Mad Tea Party -Dumbo (though part of the line is indoors) -Barnstormer -Speedway -Astro Orbiter (though there is the elevator which is indoors) Epcot: -none (sadly) Hollywood Studios: -Slinky Dog -Alien Swirling Saucers Animal Kingdom: -Triceratop Spin -Primeval Whirl (still in seasonal operation) -Kilimanjaro Safaris -Wildlife Express -Animal Trails -Kali River Rapids -Everest (maybe)
I like the pop up characters, parades & the band. It keeps people from blocking the sidewalks waiting for them. Everything still looks magical . The Castle looks beautiful . You always do a great job narrating your articles. Thank you for sharing the updates . I really enjoyed the article. Have a blessed weekend .
I just saw a picture today about how pin trading works. It is all done on pin boards and you have to place the pin you are trading into a box and then tell the Cast Member which pin you want. They get it off the board for you and then sanitize the pin you traded before placing it on the board. I’m a self-proclaimed “pin nerd” so I’m so happy about this!
I know a few people have been commenting that they see less cleaning occurring at Disney than at Universal. I have a feeling they are also doing more cleaning that guests aren’t seeing. Disney does tend to try and keep a bit of a magic alive, by cleaning when no one sees. Also, 2 hours is a bit long, but it really does depend on the chemicals used, because hold times vary. I imagine they identified the high touch points and clean those more frequently. We’ll see, I guess. At the end of the day, mask use is key. And hand sanitizing for 20 seconds is important. If your hands are dry before 20 seconds, you didn’t use enough.
Me and the wife were fortunate to speak with Tim for a minute by Frontierland. That’s checked off my bucket list. 👍🏼 Tim you’re as nice in person as you are in your vlogs, thanks for the chat. And I hope the ankle is nothing serious. Ankle injuries can be kinda dicey, but you’re young and in shape and should power right through it. Hi, Jenn and Jackson!
Was quite emotional perusal you being back there. The crowd levels were amazing and reminded me of when we used to come from the UK as kids and we would always come in November when it was quiet and that’s what it was like. Although, it does seem strange now to be so quiet, but like you say I am sure that the crowd levels will be higher on other days and weekends. Just glad to see it open again. 🙂
I went to Disney World and was shopping on Main Street, when I got a crazy bad panic attack. I had to go sit outside one of the shops on the ground and just hyperventilate and cry for a while by myself. While this was happening, that “parade” at 6:45 passed by me twice. It was horrible at the time, but looking back I can’t help but laugh at the idea of me sobbing on the dirty ground as a colorful parade float goes by saying “come on everybody put your ears on! It’s a good good good, good time!”
When I was there in December, I tripped getting out of the Tomorrowland Speedway and scrapped up my hand. The cast members were very nice and gave me 2 5-person universal fast-passes for any ride at Magic Kingdom at the first aid station. Unfortunately because I didn’t want to get my injured hand wet I wasn’t able to ride Splash Mountain with them. I did ride Big thunder Mountain Railroad and the Jungle Cruise.
So Tim it’s okay for you to be in the front row “screaming and roller coastering with stuff flying back towards” other people but not okay for others to be in the front row if you’re socially distanced behind them? SMH But I agree with you, they shouldn’t have water fountains running. They should just remove them and install water bottle refilling stations instead.
I carry around a small bottle of sanitizer plus a pack of pocket tissues. I use the tissues for opening doors, pressing elevator buttons etc. I frequently sanitize my phone during the day when I’m out. When I return home, my shoes are left outside, my keys are sanitized with alcohol wipes, phone is sanitized again, and my hands are washed. Outside clothes are taken off and we wear indoor clothes (great excuse to get back into pajamas!!!). Purses and bags are left at the door and never put onto the kitchen counter or even the couch. Reusable water bottles are put into the dishwasher since they’re often placed on public tables or floors. These same measures we take at the grocery store or returning home from work will work great when visiting a theme park like Disney! Do all that you can and then live your life to the fullest <3
Ok so here’s my input! Personal responsibility! Period! You gotta take personal responsibility or STAY AT HOME! Don’t expect others to protect you! Stay covered, wash hands, bring gloves if you wish (worthless to stop the spread) but take your chances if your out and about and don’t blame others! This is the world we live in and Disney can only do so much!
A week ago today I was walking in my backyard and went to step over a drainage ditch my landlord had dug. I misjudged the width and down I went spraining my foot in the process. Tomorrow will be my first day back to work since I wasn’t able to walk or even stand on it the first few days afterwards and even now I can’t walk on uneven surfaces like the lawn. I only have a short shift tomorrow but it should be interesting considering it still hurts (but at least I can walk albeit slower than usual for short distances and the swelling and bruising is finally almost gone). So my point is…………..it’s been a bad week for a lot of us, LOL! Take care Tim and use a tensor bandage, keep it elevated and put an ice pack on it.
Hi Tracker family! It’s so great to see Tim back at Magic Kingdom😆! I hope ur ankle turned out not to be too bad! Many, myself included, have gotten caught up in something at Disney, and wound up with an injury.🤪 My sister says she gets “Goofy” when she gets to Disney property. I’m glad it was the end of ur day, at least.
So confused about hand sanitizers and wearing mask of the cast member between WDW and Universal Studios. WDW: Many hand sanitizers but the cast member on parade rarely wear a mask Universal Studios : less hand sanitizers but most of cast members (on parade and walking around the park) wear a mask including characters who also wear a mask if they can wear.
No offense but you made that look pretty boring. Disney can only do so much as far as cleaning goes people take care of themselves too. Still good to see people are being let in. We didn’t make the short list 🙁 We were actually in Disney Springs while you shot this article hoping to run into you. Again good to see people in the parks 🙂
I really hope your ankle is alright Tim! I appreciate how you really got down to the nitty gritty of even the popcorn refills. I think many other vloggers are a bit star struck and not picking up on the hints that Disney is dropping down, like the extended queue social distancing markings signifying a larger crowd for example.
Soooo are we going to ignore the fact that Tim, even when told you can’t request the front, still did so? So is Tim advocating people to act like that and demand the front for their own personal feeling of being “safe” and making it more difficult for cast members? If you really feel that after all the distancing and separation even on the ride that you aren’t safe enough, maybe you should stay home Tim.
how busy is it with annual passholders and how busy do you think it will be with annual passholders and cast members and how busy do you think it will be in general? would you say it’s safe to go back within this month and the next few months? also do you and the family/ people you go with have to safe distance from each other or can you stay together? just asking because I feel like I’ve heard that somewhere? 🤔
Great article thanks for going and posting for us! I can remember going to Disney back in the day when there was hardly the crowds that are there in today’s world, and I remember the horse-drawn carriages and antique cars that you could actually ride on and I remember the marching band going through the park all the time and the scattered entertainment, they stopped all that once they allowedu the crowds to get so large. I am happy to see it all come back and I hope it stays 😊
It seems pretty strange to me that there’s still cranes and painting happening on the castle and the decal on the Tomorrowland Speedway car was in such rough shape. I wish they had focused more effort on rejuvenating the park during closure. I don’t want to pay full price for construction, neglected rides, and the possibility of COVID exposure.
I truly appreciate your level headed approach and dialog about the various safety measures being put in place. Very understated. So I’ll try to translate some what I gathered as I watched this: Having the water fountains operational is madness. Sanitizing the blasters on Buzz Lightyear every two hours is madness. Having a relaxation station in an enclosed big top is madness.
Thanks so much for sharing this! Hoping to be able to get back there in the second half of 2021, for my and WDW’s 50th. That will be my longest time between visits since my very first in March 2011. Thoroughly have enjoyed all of your articles during quarantine. Love perusal your little guy grow and change. Thanks again Tim & Jen!!!
I honestly hope they keep the stand on a number thing at the monorail and ferry boat even for flu season after the parks are fully open. Idk if it would work with the parks at full capacity, but it seems much more organized and like it would be less stressful for people who are claustrophobic, autistic people, and it would be easier to keep track of your little kids that way rather than a big crowd all standing together.
Glad to see our happy place is open again! Looks like Disney is doing everything right due to minimizing the effects of Covid-19. Hopefully, the guests will do their part. We will wait til the heat of summer is gone before we plan a trip. But if we were local, we’d be there tomorrow with masks on! Thanks for taking us along with you TheTimTracker!
I used to work at big top souvenirs and my friend who still works there said that they can’t make any of the treats because in the kitchens there isn’t a lot of space for the cast members making the treats to keep distance from each other. And since for big top the biggest thing they sell is the treats, there is no sense to have it open.
Re: the indoor relaxation station – I think the AC being on full blast in the tent with doors open creatures a sort of positive pressure environment (they use these in some clean rooms). The positive pressure environment moves infectious particles in the air out of the room more quickly, theoretically making it a bit safer. Just a guess, my lab days are behind me!
Tim thanks so much for showing how they are trying to keep things safe at Magic Kingdom and it was also nice the way you showed how much you care about safety and bring to mind why they would have certain things in such a manner that people could possibly get the virus and even though i live in California it’s nice seeing what Orlando is doing at their theme parks to keep people safe and Tim your doing an amazing job of bring that to light well thanks so much Tim I learned a lot and with that peace ☮️ love ❤️ and happiness to you Jenn and Jackson and I’ll see you on the next vlog adventure also please be safe out there
Hope your ankle is better today. The day after a sprained ankle is usually the worse for the pain. I’m pretty much an expert with sprained ankles, I had about 4 of them on each ankle. I can actually crack them on purpose, lol. Was there any cast members who saw someone without a mask or wearing it improperly to put one on and wear it correctly?
I don’t live in Florida, but the news about covid seems very serious. Stay safe, oh and the baby is so cute. He’s growing very quickly, but they all do that, my baby will be 40 in a couple days. The time flys too fast. I hope Florida and all states in our nation wins the battle with covid 19. I would ask everyone to wear mask, social distance, wash your hands, avoid gatherings. Tim your real good about wearing mask and social distancing, I hope everyone follows your example for their families, their neighbors, their friends, our businesses, and our country. Stay safe
We’re DVC members and have reservations at Old Key West in October. I’m not thinking we are getting Park tickets unless some of these places open up. We can find other things to do around Disney besides spending several hundred dollars on tickets and wonder what may or may not be open and have to walk around all day with that face covering.
Apart from COVID, I think the new ‘parade’ is better, Short appearances of just one or 2 single characters spread out over the day instead of one big parade. And while Americans were already more civilized in social distancing (In Western Europe people can get very irritated and pushy in lines), I do like the more distance in seating at restaurantants and in line.
i’m glad some places are back open, but i probably won’t go until it opens back up normally. i go there for the experience you get, you know, the memories and stuff like that. if i went there now, it wouldn’t be the same, it’s just little things, and big of course, that would make it less enjoyable at the moment.
Good after Tim and Family 👨🧑👶 I am somewhat bewildered as to why Disney has opened these parks in the middle of a pandemic. When they closed the parks because of Covid19 there were fewer cases then than now. My questions are ., What makes it safer now with surging cases than two months ago? Do they know something the rest us don’t? Or, have they thrown caution to the wind for profit over health and safety? I love your website and respect the balance reporting of what is going on in the parks from recent articles. Scotty 🍀 Ireland 🇮🇪✌️
Tim, don’t be too alarmed if you don’t see cast members sanitizing as frequently as perhaps at other parks. They are likely using a product like Microban, which continues killing viruses for 24 hours. That’s not to say that they should go 24 hours between wiping things down, but it doesn’t need to be done with quite the frequency that we might expect.
Oh man how great was it to be back!? You lucky duck! 😁 Second I hope you’re ok. I was carrying a bunch of broken down cardboard boxes to my car when I rolled my ankle. I mean it hurt so bad! I fell completely flat on my face. My glasses went flying. 🤦🏼♀️ And when I went to stand up a almost passed out. I had tunnel vision and ringing in my ears. A week later my ankle was still swollen and my whole foot was turning purple and greenish in color. Thankfully it turned out just to be a bad sprain. But geeze! This getting old crap is for the birds! Lol! It’s so great to see my favorite vloggers back at WDW! I was perusal Resorttv1’s live stream when they stopped to say hi to you. 😄 I came wait to see the other 3 parks. Thanks guys!
I wonder if the indoor relaxation station is more for kids? They aren’t overly known for social distancing anyway. 🤷🏻♀️ Also, I’m assuming that yes they are expecting more then what came for the preview, but they are also preparing NOW for the times where more will be allowed in. So get prepared now for next winter when the capacity hopefully moves up to 50 – 75%.
It’s sad to think of all the high school bands and chorus that will miss entertaining during Easter and other breaks. My college graduate said it was his favorite time at Disney with all his high school friends. They traveled in 2011 (freshman) from NC by bus to march down Main Street for the electric light parade. Mom and dad where there to cheer them on.
