Do They Exist Virtually At Magic Kingdom?

Disney World is currently using the virtual queue system for two rides: Guardians of the Galaxy Cosmic Rewind at Epcot and Tiana’s Bayou Adventure at Magic Kingdom. To join a virtual queue, guests must have valid admission to Magic Kingdom park and may need a theme park reservation depending on the type of admission and date of visit. The system has distribution time slots at 7:00 am and 1:00 pm, requiring guests to wake up early for the first distribution but not at dawn.

Guests can access the virtual queue system through the My Disney Experience App and can attend Extended Evening Hours at EPCOT or Magic Kingdom. On select nights when Magic Kingdom or Epcot are hosting Extended Evening Hours for Deluxe Resort guests, the virtual queue opens at 6:00 PM. The basic steps for joining are the same, but slightly different rules apply.

Mickey Kingdom will continue to use a virtual queue system through September 8th, but will switch over to standby starting on September 9th. Disney uses a virtual queue system at select attractions to reduce standing in line guests. In Magic Kingdom, TRON Lightcycle/Run uses a virtual queue, and Tiana’s Bayou Adventure will use a virtual queue when it opens in June 2024. All other rides and rides will continue to use the virtual queue system until September 9th.

How fast does a virtual queue fill up in Disney World?

Virtual queues at TRON are unpredictable due to factors such as the number of guests trying to join, weather, and time of year. To predict the best experience, it is recommended to join the first virtual queue at 7:00 AM, as boarding groups usually fill up quickly. The 1:00 PM queue is typically open for longer boarding, with some guests joining as late as 1:10 PM. Some guests suggest joining around 1:07 PM on crowded days and as late as 1:15 PM during less busy times.

It is impossible to know precisely when the virtual queue will close, so it is advised to join as soon as the queue opens to avoid being called before the park closes. The attraction often pauses for extended periods for maintenance, which can delay the boarding process. Overall, it is essential to be prepared for potential delays during your visit to ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience at TRON.

Can you wait in line for Guardians of the Galaxy?

The virtual queue represents the primary system for accessing Guardians of the Galaxy. Cosmic Rewind is managed through the My Disney Experience (MDX) application. Guests may join the queue via the app and will be duly informed when it is their turn to proceed to the ride. The boarding groups are utilized to facilitate the organization of guests into groups for their respective rides.

Can you get a 7AM and 1PM virtual queue?

Virtual Queues are available for TRON Lightcycle / Run and Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind at 7:00 AM and 1:00 PM. You can join both opportunities if they’re available, but you can only hold one Virtual Queue at a time. If you’re lucky, you might get two virtual queues for the same attraction on the same day, but it depends on the availability on the day of your visit.

It can be difficult to get a single Virtual Queue depending on the theme park attendance on any given day. If you can’t make it to the return time for your boarding group, visit Guest Relations as soon as you arrive at the theme park. Although there is no guarantee that they can change your return time, you can always try. Cast Members are known for creating magical moments, so you never know what they may be able to do.

To save on your Disney vacation, consider purchasing a Lightning Lane Single Pass or Lightning Lane Multi Pass for select attractions. This allows one person to book for the entire group, provided they are linked as Family and Friends and have the required theme park admission. Navigating the magic with a large group can be challenging, but it’s also fun. Break into smaller groups throughout the day and meet back up for a parade, fireworks show, or special attraction.

Remember to share Memory Maker, a photo service that can connect with up to 25 guests under one account, to save on costs. This allows you to capture all your vacation photos for one shared price. If you have any questions before your trip, feel free to contact planDisney and they’re always happy to share the magic.

How fast does Guardians virtual queue sell out?

Disney’s Magic Kingdom and EPCOT attractions do not offer standby lines, so the only way to skip the line is by joining the Virtual Queue. To do so, use the My Disney Experience app and confirm your party in advance. Virtual Queues open at 7AM and 1PM daily and sell out quickly, sometimes within one minute. To secure your spot, refresh the page at 7AM or 1PM and tap “Join Virtual Queue”. On nights with Extended Evening Hours, join a Virtual Queue at 6PM.

This queue tends to go slower, but it’s still recommended to join as soon as possible. Once you join, you’ll receive a Boarding Group number, which grants a one-hour window to return to the attraction. However, if you miss the window or are late, you’ll be charged for the ride.

Do you need to be in the park for 6PM virtual queue?

Disney offers virtual queues at 7AM and 1PM for all guests, but there is a third option for those eligible to attend Extended Evening Hours on select dates in EPCOT and Magic Kingdom at 6PM. This queue does not require being inside the right park. If the virtual queues are too stressful, guests can purchase an Individual Lightning Lane through Disney Genie+, a pay-per-ride service that allows them to bypass the virtual queue line and enter the Lightning Lane. This system secures a spot and gets you on the ride faster than the virtual queue, but it is not free.

What happens if you miss the virtual queue at Disney World?

Disney’s Magic Kingdom Park and EPCOT are offering Virtual Queues for TRON Lightcycle/Run and Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind, with Tiana’s Bayou Adventure opening on June 28, 2024. These queues are free of charge through the My Disney Experience Mobile App, starting at 7:00 AM, provided you have valid theme park admission. If you miss the 7:00 AM time, you can try again at 1:00 PM, but you must be in the park at that time.

Individual Lightning Lanes are paid entrances for popular rides and attractions, typically one or two per park. You can only purchase two Individual Lightning Lanes per day and cannot repeat a ride on the same day. They are available for guests staying in Disney Resorts Collection hotels and at park opening for all other guests.

Disney Genie+ is a paid service that allows you to secure Lightning Lane entry to dozens of rides around the parks. Pricing varies daily and can be purchased for one park or multiple parks if you plan to park hop. Customers who have purchased Genie+ can make their first selection at 7:00 AM, and can make another selection after using their previous Lightning Lane or two hours since. The two-hour time window starts at park opening, not at 7:00 AM.

Can you do the 7AM and 1PM virtual queue?

The My Disney Experience offers a virtual queue for guests to join their experiences at 7:00am ET or 1:00pm ET, with 1:00pm being the only time they must be inside the park. Deluxe / Deluxe Villa Resort guests can request to join at 6:00pm ET. However, joining the virtual queue does not guarantee participation in the experience. Each guest can enter the queue for a given experience no more than once per day, and boarding groups are limited and subject to availability.

If multiple experiences use a virtual queue, guests must enter them one at a time. To ensure a successful experience, guests should log into the My Disney Experience a few minutes before the queue opening time.

Can you get both Virtual Queues at Magic Kingdom?

In order to join a virtual queue for an attraction at 13:00, guests are required to be within the confines of the theme park. Furthermore, they are permitted to occupy only one queue at a given time.

How long is the wait at Guardians of the Galaxy?

Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind is EPCOT’s latest ride, a World Showcase pavilion that takes visitors to another planet, Xandar. The ride begins at the Guardians of the Galaxy building near EPCOT’s front entrance, in World Discovery (formerly Future World East). Guests can use the standby queue or Lightning Lane to enter the pavilion through doors on the right. The pre-show area resembles a cross between EPCOT’s Test Track pavilion and Animal Kingdom’s Dinosaur, with walkways curved around various display items, including the history of Xandar and the introduction of the Guardians of the Galaxy cast. Guests can pay for the faster Lightning Lane queue to skip some pre-show elements.

It should be noted that the number of virtual queue boarding groups is limited and contingent upon availability. Furthermore, there is no guarantee that any given group will be able to board. It should be noted that not all boarding groups may be required to return based on operational considerations and the availability of suitable personnel.

  • My family and I were all able to ride Guardians of the Galaxy Cosmic Rewind 2 days in a row using your tips! I was able to secure boarding group 11 the first day and 22 the 2nd (both were called while waiting for EPCOT to open to non resort guests). Once the park officially opened, we went straight to ride and were boarding within 10 minutes. Thank you so much!

  • So, I am testing before I go, and started tapping right before 1PM, but the refresh button never changed to the “loading”. A few seconds later, I decided to try to refresh to pull and the page was refreshed. Since I was not in the park, it showed a red error message. But I felt tapping just wasn’t working, and pulling down did. What do you think?? You just keep tapping, even even a few seconds have alteady passed??

  • Virtual Queue is too frustrating in so many ways. I’d rather stay in a regular line for hours and have the guarantee of going in the ride. Should this be the new way to go, several other attractions would have it. Seven Dwarves in MK don’t even is available in Lightning Lane. VQ indeed is not the best way to go for visitors, specielly newcomers. WDW must review that in lightning speed.

  • Just wanted to thank you for putting out the initial article that talked about virtual queues. It really helped when we were down last March. Your rapid refresh method got us access to a late afternoon boarding group to Tron at the 1 PM time slot and one of the first boarding groups on guardians at the 7 AM time slot. Thanks for the update on Tiana’s! I’m hopeful by the time I have the chance to go back to WDW, they will have transitioned it to just a standard queue and Genie+ LL

  • Epcot Disney is nithing about Disney except Elza and Coco Moana rest should be City walk for free. Its too expensive and only one Guardians of Galaxy was busy with virtual que which didnt gave opportunity on app to go there. Even when i qent there on last 30 min before closure stupid employee said like robot to me: no only virtual que blablabla. Came in vain from Europe (Germany) for Disney. Dont go!!!! UNIVERSAL is 1000 times better!!!!!!

  • I appreciate this website because it exemplifies the insanity that is “planning” a trip to Disney. How are people not completely turned off at the idea of paying a fortune to visit a place that has post barriers to entry? You can go on European and Asian vacation with more activities for a fraction of these costs. It is insane to pay extra to cut lines only to have to prepare months in advance. Then there is no guarantee the ride will work, oh and the fast lanes may bypass story.
