  • Got hired about a week ago, I was hired as a customer service associate and I agree with most people that training is kinda non existent but I caught on pretty good after 5 days, as im not afraid to ask questions. One of my managers said I could transfer to pharmacy and I cant remember what she said id be doing but she said I would be doing register and then 4 hours of pharmacy a week. I hope it is not a hard process and im going to become a pharmacist when I go to college this year. Im hoping to get a taste of the pharmacy environment and be 100% sure

  • This was really helpful thank you for posting this article. Good to know these tips for the future. I’m 18 and planning to go to my local college to do a career technical certificate program they offer for pharmacy technician hopefully in the fall and was just trying to figure out what would be supplies/essentials to take to school. What would you say are things in your bag to have as a pharmacy tech student?

  • I really appreciate you sharing this information with those who want to work as a pharm tech. I ‘m taking my certification course on Oct 16th, online, self paced, and I heard it’s a lot to know . I was told to even dedicate 12-16 hrs for this course. I am so excited to start learning pharmacology at the moment and later on for my nursing school. I thought this would be a good start for me to get my foot in the door after looking for healthcare jobs online through indeed. I did get an offer, but the shifts that they offered were always night, which i dont ever want to work nights 😢 Hopefully the outcome for this cert is different ❤ 🙏

  • just know it’s more fast paced, i only worked one day on the floor and got moved to pharmacy. no experience. the people there are very helpful. they are fast. at first it just gonna be shadowing, then maybe 2-3 hours end of ur shift they gonna let you try it out. your gonna cry for help, after 2-3 days you’ll get the hang of it then it will run smooth but there will still be thing syoulll ask for help

  • I just got an interview at riteaid for a tech in training (I have no experience, I am 18) I’m so nervous. I had a mini interview on the phone (why do you wanna work here, some basic math questions and like average interview questions like how have you handled an issue etc.) And now I have an actual interview on Friday at a location.

  • I’m not sure if you’re still active here but I thought it’d be worth a shot to ask anyway, do you remember how long it took you to get started after doing your fingerprint session? I want to schedule it asap because it says it will take 6 weeks minimum to be able to work in pharmacy after applying with the state board. I would love to hear your experience with onboarding since it’s a bit nerve-wracking since the process is so lengthy!

  • No I want to add on to this article as it is not AS informative… straight up! Pharmacy is fast-paced! I’m the job looks slow on the outside but it’s actually fast especially if your working at a busy location I work in Dallas Tx in a upscale area doctors who call in prescriptions can be very very demanding and rude this job is NOT one to take personal or feel to happy about I quickly realize it’s good pay but you’ll be working for tht pay meaning you’ll be standing on your feet you’ll be expected to show up on time no slacking what so ever and we at Walgreens get one break it’s when ALL THE TECHES AND PHARMACISTS go to lunch for ONLY 30 mins and when you come BACK from lunch the line and drive through is long of people waiting on their promised time medications ! Also people drop off their prescription and are expecting it to be ready right away ! Don’t be nervous just the reality is this isn’t a fun job if you can’t handle pressure and no your not stupid either if you can’t catch ok NEVRR give up never ! Just breathe and know that it does take time also on the back of prescription papers you can read how to pronounce a word!

  • Heyy just curious about the education portion/ hiring process? At what point were you told to become certified or go to school for training and how long was that. I’m super interested in applying to the internship?? but nervous about them rejected my application bc I’m not enrolled in the certificate course yet, lmk thanks girl… ps I’m accidentally on my boyfriends YouTube account again 🙄😂🤦🏻‍♀️

  • Hi! I started last week in the pharmacy at Walgreens in Hood River, OR but I’m like freaking out it’s super busy and intense. I won’t get my certification until probably like 4-6 weeks. And then I’ll get my license but will have two years to study and take the exam. I feel so lost like I won’t be able to do it.

  • Hello am aiming for pharmacy technician position and I want to make sure I’m all set and ready when the time comes hopefully soon but i honestly been feeling bit doubtful cuz Idk where to start.. I just have a question anyone that works in pharmacy. What all things do I need to study and memorize to work for a pharmacy. This would be very helpful for me to move forward in my studies and I be so grateful anyone that be able to reply back. Thank you. 🙏♥️💊🏥

  • I am working as Pharmacy assistant at the moment but I have no NVQ pharmacy services L2. I am prep. my self to do GCSE Math and English and biology for essential requirements to apply Apprtenship pharmacy Tech. Do u think is necessary we need to study NVQ pharmacy L2 first? Please advise x Is it important we need to NVQ L2 before apprenticeship pharmacy Tech? I am very passionate with this career x

  • Hey, i really want to apply for this job, i’m studying by myself at home. Is it possible to get hired if you actually dont know that much about too many drugs and do they require anything before apply for apprenticeship? I heard my friend said that i need to get Pharm Tech Trainee at Board of Pharmacy, is it true? Thank you

  • When your a tech in training… Once you been there a few months of course your learning but do you have to be fast.. like run to this in the pharmacy.. run do that. Fill this.. or can you just be at your own speed and get the job done?.. I asked my pharmacist when can I start taking my courses towards my exam??. She said when ” she feel as though my speed is up more” smh.. that comment almost made me put my 2 weeks in.
